2 RETIROS Y EVENTOS / RETREATS AND EVENTS La Oficina Arquidiocesana para las Vocaciones invita a todos a un Día para la Familia en el Seminario San Carlos Borromeo Domingo, 8 de noviembre del 2015 Comenzando con la Santa Misa a las 12:00 p.m. Hombres hispanos en la escuela secundaria y la universidad y sus familias están invitados a pasar un día en el Seminario San Carlos Borromeo. Recorra los terrenos, juegue un partido de fútbol con los seminaristas, y asista a las vísperas en la tarde. Habrá música en vivo con el grupo Unción Celestial de Phoenixville, comida, refrescos, juegos para los niños, oración y más. El evento es GRATUITO. Se aceptan donaciones. The Archdiocesan Vocation Office invites all to the Hispanic Family Day at St. Charles Seminary Sunday, November 8, 2015 Beginning with Mass at 12:00 p.m. Hispanic men of high school and college age and their families are invited to spend a day at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. Tour the grounds, play a soccer game with the seminarians, and attend evening vespers. There will be live music with Phoenixville s group Uncion Celestial, food, refreshments, games for the kids, prayer and more. The event is FREE. Donations are accepted. 7 RECURSOS / RESOURCES Asistencia legal gratuita para ayudar a víctimas de fraude de servicios migratorios Amigos de los Trabajadores Agrícolas, una organización sin fines de lucro, ahora ofrece asistencia legal gratuita a las víctimas de fraude de servicios migratorios. El fraude de servicios migratorios sucede cuando alguien que no posee con licencia para ejercer la ley de inmigración cobra dinero para ayudarle con su solicitud de inmigración. Ellos pueden decir que son un asistente legal, especialista en inmigración, o tienen una conexión especial con los oficiales de inmigración, o pueden afirmar falsamente ser abogados, pero ninguna de esas personas pueden ejercer legalmente la ley de inmigración. Free Legal Assistance to Help Victims of Immigration Services Fraud Friends of Farmworkers, a non-profit organization, now provides free legal assistance for victims of immigration services fraud. Immigration services fraud happens when someone who is not actually licensed to practice immigration law charges money to help you with your immigration application. They may say they are a legal assistant, immigration specialist, or have a special connection with immigration officials, or they may falsely claim to be a lawyer, but none of these people can legally practice immigration law. Because they are not licensed, their applications are often denied and they may even put people in danger of deportation. D O N O T BE DEFRAUDED! 8 COMUNIDAD / COMMUNITY Como un gesto de gratitud por la visita del papa Francisco a Filadelfia, un grupo de feligreses de la iglesia San William se juntaron para elaborar una alfombra de aserrín. La alfombra de aserrín es una tradición absolutamente católica que se ha transformado en un arte popular que se extiende tanto por España como por Hispanoamérica donde tiene su origen, quizás en el siglo XIV. El elaborar esta alfombra significa para los creyentes agradecer una gracia, o un milagro. El fin último de estas maravillosas obras de arte es el de la procesión. Cuando los sacerdotes que llevaban el Corpus Christi caminaban sobre las alfombras, estas se deshacían, entonces todo el mundo puede contribuir a la destrucción de lo que se ha construido con tanto cuidado y cariño por la comunidad. As a gesture of gratitude for the visit of Pope Francis to Philadelphia, a group of parishioners at St. William s Church got together to make a sawdust carpet. The sawdust carpet is a Catholic tradition that has become a popular art that extends from Spain through Latin America where it originated maybe in the XIV century. Believers make this carpet as a means to give thanks for a grace received or for a miracle. The last purpose of these wonderful works of art is for the procession. When priests carry the Corpus Christi and walked over the carpet, it begins to disintegrate. Then everyone can contribute to the disintegration of what has been made with much love and care for the community. 9 COMUNIDAD / COMMUNITY La celebración de El Señor de los Milagros está presente y es parte de la cultura peruana. Todos los años la comunidad peruana de San William prepara con devoción esta celebración donde se lleva en procesión la imagen de El Señor de los Milagros y a continuación se celebra una misa especial. Padre Bruce Lewandowski, C.Ss.R fue el celebrante y homilista principal de la misa el pasado domingo 25 de octubre. Entre los invitados estuvo el Sr. Vitaliano Gallardo, del Consulado General de Perú en Paterson, NJ. The celebration of El Señor de los Milagros is part of the Peruvian culture. Every year the Peruvian community in St. William prepares with devotion this celebration where the image of El Señor de los Milagros is carried in the procession followed by the celebration of a special Mass. Fr. Bruce Lewandowski, C.Ss.R was the main celebrant and homilist of the mass this past Sunday, October 25th. Among the guests was Mr. Vitaliano Gallardo, Consulate General of Peru in Paterson, NJ.
