1 Secciones Sections REPRESENTACIÓN INSTITUCIONAL INSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATION En materia de representación institucional la Asociación mantuvo la Presidencia del Consejo Técnico de Normalización de la industria Química (COTENNIQ) del Centro Nacional de Certificación de Producto, además de permanecer como representante de la industria química en el Comité Consultivo Mixto de With respect to Institutional Representation, ANIQ continued presiding over the Standardization Technical Board of the Chemical Industry (COTENNIQ) of the National Center of Product Certification. In like manner, ANIQ also continued as the entity representing the chemical industry before the Mixed Consultative Committee for 54

Se colaboró con el área de energía para atender particularmente la normatividad sobre lubricantes, y con las empresas de la sección de fertilizantes y agroquímicos para el desarrollo de la norma oficial mexicana que establece las especificaciones técnicas que debe cumplir el sulfato de amonio (en comité de normalización de la Secretaría de Economía). PROMOCIÓN AL DESARROLLO De manera periódica se celebraron reuniones de las diferentes secciones en las cuales se pretende presentar información relativa a los mercados que se atienden, últimos desarrollos tecnológicos, así como información particular para la industria química. Por este motivo, durante 2014 se contó con la asistencia de 833 representantes de empresas socias que Supply to Petróleos Mexicanos, as well as Work Group No. 2 related to chemical products. The Association collaborated with the Energy Section dealing specifically with standards for lubricants, and with the fertilizer and agrochemical products companies to develop the Mexican Official Standard that sets forth the technical specifications for ammonium sulfate (in the Standardization Committee of the Ministry of the Economy). PROMOTING DEVELOPMENT Meetings with the various Sections were held regularly with the intention to share information related to the markets served, the latest technological developments, and information specific to the chemical industry. For this reason in 2014 about 833 representatives of member companies attended these events, where they listened to 60 guest speakers in the various Sections. 3 SECCIONES Sections Adhesivos y Selladores: Se tuvo la asistencia y colaboración del Director General de la Cámara Mexicana de la Industria de la Construcción, segmento relevante para esta industria. Provinilo: Se realizó durante el mes de septiembre el foro técnico de provinilo con la participación de expositores de las empresas BASF, Exxon Mobil, Akcros, Resinas y Materiales y con el Director General de Normatividad de la Secretaría de Economía. Finalmente para esta sección se desarrolló un boletín el cual contiene información estadística de esta industria, así como notas de interés relacionadas al PVC. pudieron escuchar a 60 invitados externos en las diferentes secciones. Durante estas reuniones se pudo conocer una visión de la empresa u organización gremial que representan en los mercados en que participan, por lo que particularmente para cada sección se resaltan los principales resultados: Distribuidores de productos químicos: Se contó con 26 invitados externos durante el año y una asistencia de 342 representantes de empresas socias. Se realizó por cuarto año consecutivo el estudio de benchmarck para distribuidores. Resinas Sintéticas: Se incorporó la participación de socios que anteriormente no sesionaban y se abordaron temas de interés para esta sección pudiendo resaltar la participación de empresas como GDF Suez, Celanese, Indorama y Braskem Idesa. Pigmentos y Colorantes: En la sección de pigmentos y colorantes, se pudo reforzar la colaboración con el siguiente eslabón de la cadena, teniendo una estrecha participación con la Asociación Nacional de Fabricantes de Pinturas y Tintas (ANAFAPYT) quién a través de su Presidente presentó las cifras más representativas para este sector. Productos Químicos para Tratamiento de Agua (PQTA): La sección de PQTA colaboró de manera cercana con el Organismo de Cuenca Aguas del Valle de México, el Sistema de Aguas de la Ciudad de México y particularmente en el mes de Agosto se realizó una visita a la planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales de Atotonilco donde se tratarán las aguas de la Ciudad de México y que se encuentra actualmente en construcción. Especialidades Químicas: Se atendieron diferentes segmentos de las especialidades químicas, como ejemplo la asistencia de representantes de la Asociación Mexicana del Asfalto, Fábrica de Jabones la Corona o información estadística nacional sobre oleoquímicos, tendencias del sector automotriz a nivel internacional e información sobre las especialidades utilizadas en la industria petrolera. Multisecciones: Esta sección agrupa a todas las secciones y en la cual se pretende presentar información que atañe de manera general a la industria química, por ello se tuvieron temas generales como la industria de la celulosa y el papel en México, la perspectiva económica de México y el mundo, la industria del cuidado personal entre otros temas de interés. 56

4 meetings we learned about the vision of the companies and of professional organizations, and about the markets they serve. Major achievements of each Section are highlighted below: Distributors of Chemical Products: During the year, 26 external guest speakers were invited and 342 representatives of member companies attended. For the fourth consecutive year, the distributors benchmark survey was carried out. Synthetic resins: Members who had not attended this event before participated this year for the first time discussing topics of interest for this Section. Participation of the following companies must be highlighted: GDF Suez, Celanese, Indorama and Braskem Idesa. Adhesives and Sealants: We were glad to have the attendance and collaboration of the CEO of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry, a very relevant segment for this industry. Pro-Vinyl Group: The Provinilo Technical Forum was held in September with the participation of speakers from companies such as Basf, Exxon Mobil, Akcros, Resinas y Materiales, and the General Director of Standardization of the Ministry of the Economy. Finally a bulletin was created for this Section to publish statistical information of the industry, and notes and comments related to PVC. Chemical Specialties. Various segments of chemical specialties received attention. An example of this was the attendance of representatives from the Mexican Association of Asphalt and Fábrica de Jabones La Corona. Also, the section gathered national statistical information about oleochemicals, global trends in the automotive sector, and information about chemical specialties used in the oil industry. Pigments and Dyes: In the pigment and dyes Section, the collaboration with the next link in the chain was reinforced. There was a close participation with the National Association of Manufacturers of Paints and Dyes (ANAFAPYT) whose Chairman presented the sector s most representative numbers. Chemical Products for Water Treatment (PQTA): The PQTA Section collaborated very closely with the Valley of Mexico Water Basin Body, Mexico City s Water System and particularly in the month of August a visit was organized to the Atotonilco Wastewater Treatment Plant where wastewater from Mexico City will be treated. 5 SECCIONES Sections Lubricantes y Aditivos: La sección trabajó particularmente en el desarrollo de la Norma Oficial Mexicana para establecer las especificaciones de los Lubricantes para motores a gasolina y a diesel y como invitados clave para esta industria se tuvo a la Asociación Mexicana de la Industria Automotriz (AMIA), Cámara Nacional de Autotransportes de Carga (CANACAR) y a Pemex Refinación. EVENTOS El principal evento realizado por el área fue la Convención de Secciones que en mayo de 2014 tuvo como sede el hotel Grand Velas de la Riviera Nayarit, teniendo una asistencia record de 112 convencionistas. PUBLICACIONES Durante el 2014 se renovó por completo implementación. el boletín de secciones teniendo de manera mensual en el contenido del mismo, noticias de interés relacionadas a las secciones que sesionaron; el reporte de Quimquest enfocado a presentar información sobre los mercados de lubricantes y aditivos, también fue renovado en su diseño y se continuó emitiendo de manera mensual considerando nuevas fuentes de información. Finalmente se creó el boletín de Provinilo el cual pretende generar información de interés en materia de PVC, así como presentar de manera permanente información estadística relacionada con este producto. Se publicó al igual que años anteriores el Directorio de Productos Químicos para Tratamiento de Agua tanto en su modalidad en línea, así como en la edición impresa del directorio de la ANIQ. 58

6 Multisections. This section includes and puts together all sections. With this an attempt was made to present information that relates to the chemical industry as a whole. That is the reason why several general topics such as those related to the cellulose and paper industries, Mexico s and the world s economic perspectives, as well as the personal health care industry, among other interesting topics, were dealt with. Lubricants and Additives. This Section worked particularly in the drafting of the Mexican Official Standard to establish the specifications for lubricants used in gasoline and diesel engines. The Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA), the National Chamber of Cargo Land Transports (CANACAR) and Pemex Refinación were some key guests of the industry. Polyurethanes. The Mexican Standard to set forth the specifications of the flexible cellular materials for polyurethane was completed. This section continues with the follow-up of activities related to its implementation. EVENTS The major event was the Sections Convention held in May 2014 at the Grand Velas Hotel in the Nayarit Riviera with a record attendance of 112 participants. The major theme of the Convention was the Energy Reform passed by the end of That was the reason why the Energy Regulatory Commission and the CEO of Pemex Petroquímica participated in this event. The point of view of the private sector was heard, particularly aspects related to electricity presented by the representative from Alston Mexicana. Other interesting topics were presented by the Assistant Secretary of Foreign Trade from the Ministry of the Economy who gave an update on the international negotiations where Mexico is a participant, and papers were also presented by IHS, IMCO and CEESP. Finally, in the month of March representatives from this area attended the IHS World Petrochemical Conference. This allowed them to present to the Sections information about the future of the chemical industry chains. PUBLICATIONS In 2014, the content of the Sections Bulletin was updated and improved including interesting monthly news related to the Sections. Also, the design of the Quimquest Report --focused on presenting information about the lubricants and additives markets-- was enhanced, and its monthly publication continued with new sources of information. Finally, the Provinilo bulletin was created with the purpose of publishing interesting information about PVC and statistical data related to this product on an ongoing basis. As in past years, the Directory of Chemical Products for Water Treatment was published both on line and in the printed edition of ANIQ s directory. 59 Informe Anual Annual Report
