1 Una pequeña introducción sobre los empleadores. En el año 2012 el Departamento de Estado de USA estableció nuevas regulaciones para el programa Work and Travel USA. Entre otras cosas, limitó los empleadores autorizados a recibir Work and Travellers. Ahora, sólo podrán recibir participantes aquellos empleadores que tengan un pico de demanda estacional de trabajadores, como es el caso de los centros de ski en invierno. Aquellos empleadores en zonas de calor (Hawaii, Miami) o grandes ciudades, no pueden recibir participantes ya que no tienen UNA SOLA temporada con pico de demanda, y ya reciben participantes en verano americano. No pueden recibir participantes 2 veces por año. Además de la ubicación, el Depto de Estado prohibió puestos en casas de familias, fábricas, casinos, nightclubs, puestos con salario totalmente a comisión u horario predominantemente nocturno. Por eso, la gran mayoría de los empleadores están ubicados en centros de ski, resorts invernales, hoteles de montaña. Los empleadores no son todos iguales. Algunas son opciones tipo centro de ski tradicional, otros son solo hosterías o spas de montaña. Algunos son centros grandes, otros más pequeños. Algunos ofrecen un salario más alto, otros alojamiento gratis o muy barato, algunos incluyen beneficios como el pase de ski, algunos te permiten terminar tu contrato el 5 de marzo, algunos exigen un contrato hasta el 1 de abril. Algunos ofrecen variedad de puestos, otros buscan solo chicos para housekeeping. Pero no existe el empleador perfecto: el que mejor te pague, esté mejor ubicado, te de el alojamiento y el pase gratis y te permita trabajar las horas que tu quieras. De la misma manera que todos los chicos que hacen el Work and Travel no son iguales: algunos tienen más experiencia, algunos mejor inglés, otros aprenden rápido, otros más lentamente, algunos son más simpáticos, otros menos. Algunos se esfuerzan, otros no tanto. There are also cultural and historical resources in the area as well, such as museums and the Village of Woodstock. This inn, built in 1892, is one of the premiere resorts in the area. It has been renovated since its original construction and now boasts a golf course, fitness center and complete spa! The atmosphere at the inn is friendly, with an emphasis on excellent guest service. Travel Time From NYC to Job Site by bus: 7-8 hours. Approximate Travel Cost: $60 Employer: Sun and Ski Motor Inn Website: Location: Stowe, Vermont Job Title: Housekeeping Work Description: Your main duty will most likely be housekeeping (Cleaning rooms; vacuuming, changing linens and towels, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, doing laundry, etc. ) but you should be prepared to do any or all of the following: Maintenance: Painting, carrying heavy objects, mopping floors, doing repairs, etc. You may also be asked to assist with other aspects of running the Sun & Ski Motor Inn, at your employer's request. Your employer will provide you with Sun & Ski shirts and aprons free of charge. You should bring black pants. In addition, please bring white sneakers. Your hairstyle should be conservative.
