1 FORMAT B1 SPEAKING EXAM PARTE 1 El examinador, de manera alternativa, hará preguntas a los dos alumnos (4-5 min en total) PRODUCCIÓN ORAL 25% PARTE 2 PARTE 3 Cada candidato tiene 15 segundos para preparar un tema determinado y 1 minuto para exponerlo. También contestará brevemente a 1 pregunta relacionada con el tema previamente expuesto por su pareja. (4-5 min en total) Los dos candidatos tienen que hablar entre ellos sobre una situación planteada y comentar las distintas posibilidades que se ofrecen. 2 Examples of the types of questions you will be asked in Part 1 Good morning/afternoon/evening. Can I have your marks sheets, please? What s your name? What s your surname? How do you spell that? Where do you live? What do you like about living there? What do enjoy about learning English? What did you do last weekend? Which do you prefer, summer or winter? Do you think you ll work abroad in the future? What are you going to do next weekend? What other language would you like to learn?

3 Example of the type of activity you will be asked to do in Part 2 (candidate A) Now, in this part of the test, you re each going to talk about a topic for one minute, and also answer a short question about your partner s topic. CANDIDATE A. You re going to talk about a sport you like. Here is your card. You can use the ideas on the card and any other ideas of your own. Remember, you should speak for about one minute. You now have 15 seconds to think about what you re going to say. All right? Your partner answers the question: Do you play any sports games?

4 Example of the type of activity you will be asked to do in Part 2 (candidate B) CANDIDATE B. Now it s your turn. You re going to talk about a member of your family that you like. Here is your card. You can use the ideas on the card and any other ideas of your own. Remember, you should speak for about one minute. You now have 15 seconds to think about what you re going to say. All right? Your partner answers the question: Do you have a large or a small family?

5 Example of the type of activity you will be asked to do in Part 3. In this part of the test, you re going to talk together about something for about three minutes. I d like you to imagine that your teacher has asked students to choose a new magazine for the college library. Talk together about the different types of magazine the college could put in the library, and say which one would be most popular with the students. Here are some ideas to help you.

6 Examples of the types of questions you will be asked in Part 4 In the last part of the test you spoke about magazines and hobbies. Now, you re going to talk together about this topic in general. Do you think that paper magazines and books have a future? Do you think we can trust that all the information we find is true? Do you have several different hobbies or just one in particular? How do you think our leisure activities will change in the future? Do you have enough time to do all the things you like? Should young people be encouraged to do lots of different activities, apart from their studies? Thank you. That is the end of the test. Goodbye.
