The essence of projects is to provide an experience for the user, thus making architecture a modeling agent in our lives, enhancing wellness in dwellers. COLLABORATIVE SPACE Present conditions in construction industry, summed to a detriment in the natural and human environment, architect s role is multifaceted. Architect needs to evaluate more variants in early design phases and approach the project in an integrated way. For that reason, our Architecture Studio is a collaborative space between team members. Along with specialty engineers, client and users, we elaborate the solution. This open idea exchange environment in early design stage reduce cost and risks during construction and better client s satisfaction.

10 TEAM MEMBERS PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT & PROJECT MANAGER María Cristina Peña Carro is a professional and passionate learner, Graduate School of Environmental Design at the University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Architecture from Arizona State University in Maria Cristina has led a practice guided by sustainable and the forefront of design tools that improve service in architecture. LEED Accredited Professional since 2007 and HERS Rater making it the second HERS Rater in Puerto Rico. Her skills in project management have achieved LEED certification of the first hotel in the Caribbean, the first school in PR and the first building a non-profit organization of PR. She has collaborated on projects, seminars and articles in Puerto Rico and Peru to raise awareness to other professionals and citizens about sustainable practices. PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT & LEAD DESIGNER Fernando De Jesús López completed his Master of Architecture from the University of Puerto Rico in 2001, won the award for Best Thesis. Design skills, dedication and hard work managed 7 design awards and numerous publications for the prestigious firm Toro Ferrer Arquitectos since In 2010, he started his own practice. His talent and leadership is not limited to professional work, but also teaches Design Studio in the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. Here he have the opportunity to encourage students to instill excellence and the architect's role as one that enhances the sense of place and one that enhances our daily lives. 11 TEAM MEMBERS ARCHITECT, PRODUCTION & BIM SPECIALIST Maricelis Ramos is a Licenced architect, expert in Building Information Modeling (BIM) with over 13 years of experience in Architecture Firms. Her skills assures an expedite Project Delivery. She has actively participated as Professor and Guest Critic for Design Courses at Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico, University of Puerto Rico and International School of Design in Turabo University. In she was Director of the Education Commission at the Colegio de Arquitectos y Arquitectos Paisajistas de Puerto Rico (CAAPPR) and Member of Board of Directors of Fundación por la Arquitectura. She is a current Lecturer in the CAAPPR for Reviews for NCARB Architect Registration Exam and former Member of the Technical-Professional Commission. ARCHITECT IN TRAINING Camila Lamela is an architect in training with excellent presentation skills and architectural drawing. Her personal motivation and agility make it extremely versatile to fulfill various tasks in the design workshop. Also certified as Accredited Professional LEED AP and her LEED project experience and integrated design make her an essential professional for the success of projects in her charge. Graduated from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico in 2010.

12 TEAM MEMBERS ARCHITECT IN TRAINING Luis Izquierdo Martínez is a passionate young architect recently graduated from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. He has excellent skills in Architectural Design, 3D modeling, drawing production and teamwork skills. INTERN ARCHITECT Wing Lai is a young intern architect finishing his Capstone in the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. He possesses superb skills in Architectural Design, 3D modeling, construction documents, and graphic designs.

Sobre esta s líneas, el área de la cocina antes de ser intervenida y a la izquierda, el área totalmente transformada, espacio que la familia llama "el centro de todo". Estas transformaciones convirtieron una residencia en la estancia de ensueño de una familia de tres y uno en ca m i n o. Ahora los espacios cumplen con funciones específicas y llenan las necesidades de un matrimonio joven con dos niños, sostiene el arquitecto Fernando De Jesús, AIA, a cargo de la remodelación que duró cuatro meses. La cocina es el corazón de la ca s a, afirma el arquitecto, sobre el área que tuvo los mayores cambios. Esta cocina queda entre un family y un TV room, dos espacios de mucho uso pero que no estaban conectados entre sí. Empezamos por eliminar la pared que separaba el TV room de la cocina para unir los espacios. El family tenía unas ventanas pequeñas que se eliminaron y una pared que daba al exterior que fue demolida para instalar un sistema de puertas de cristal plegadizas. Al abrir las puertas integramos el interior y el exterior. Unas puertas corredizas de bolsillo ahora separan de la sala el área que incluye a la cocina, el family y el TV room. Cuando están abiertas no se ven y si se cierran lucen elegantes, proveen privacidad y permiten mantener la temperatura del aire acondicionado.
