The deliberations are also stored for later access on demand. This service is free and is provided by TVW, the statewide nonprofit television network which is the equivalent of C-SPAN at the national level. Just visit TVW s Web site at The software required RealAudio is also free and can be downloaded over the Internet from An Invitation to Olympia Washington s Capitol Building with its surrounding campus and lake make Olympia one of our nation s most beautiful state capitals. The Capitol Campus is a year-round tourist destination and the Legislative Building is the centerpiece. Completed in 1927, it was newly refurbished for the state s Centennial in Olympia visitors also can enjoy the Temple of Justice where the State Supreme Court meets, the Governor s Mansion, the Old Capitol Building and several veteran memorials situated on the 30-acre campus. In the summer, the grounds and flowers are beautiful! If you want to tour the Capitol Campus, call the tour office at (360) Tours are available hourly from 10 am to 3 pm seven days a week. Everyone in the 15th District can take advantage of this enjoyable and educational destination located just a short distance away. It is a nice place to take outof-state visitors, especially when the flowers are in bloom in the spring and summer months. Voter Registration To register to vote, you must be: A citizen of the United States A legal resident of Washington state At least 18 years old by Election Day You may register to vote at any time, but you must be registered at least 30 days in advance of an election if you wish to vote at a polling place on election day. You may also register between 30 and 15 days before an election or on-line at vote.wa.gov. How to register: Mail-in registration forms are available from your county auditor or county elections department as well as many public libraries, schools and other government offices. Motor Voter registration is offered when you renew or apply for your driver s license. Absentee ballots: You may request an absentee ballot as early as 45 days before an election. (No absentee ballots are issued on election day except to overseas U.S. citizens, military personnel, and hospitalized voters. Absentee ballots may be requested either by phone or by mail from the county elections officer. You may also apply in writing to automatically receive an absentee ballot before each election. NOTE: Absentee ballots must be signed and postmarked or delivered to the county election officer on or before election day.
