3 Dash Disassembly INST-581FD Ford F , Ford Expedition/Edge , Lincoln Mark LT Unsnap and remove entire panel surrounding the radio and climate controls. (Figure A) 2. Remove (4) 9/32 screws to remove the factory radio. (Figure B) Continue to kit assembly 1. Remove the small rectangular shifter lever trim panel if equipped. (Figure A) 2. Remove (2) Phillips screws from under the center armrest at the back of the shifter trim panel (including cup holders). (Figure B) 3. Unclip and remove panel. (Figure B) 4. Unclip and remove the (2) center stack trim panels from the left and right side of the radio and climate controls. (Figure C) 5. Remove (6) 9/32 screws from center trim panel surrounding the radio and climate controls then unclip and remove panel. (Figure D) 6. Remove (4) 9/32 screws from the radio to remove. 4 Dash Disassembly INST-581FD Ford Five Hundred /Taurus 2008 Mercury Montego /Sable Unclip and remove the small rectangular trim around shift lever. (Figure A) 2. Unclip and remove the entire panel (including cup holders) surrounding the shift lever. (Figure B) 3. Remove (2) 9/32 screws at the bottom of the center radio/climate control panel. (Figure C) 4. Unclip and remove the center panel. (Figure D) 5. Remove (4) 9/32 screws from the radio to remove. (Figure E) Continue to kit assembly (Figure A) (Figure B) (Figure C) Ford Fusion Mercury Milan Unsnap and remove entire panel surrounding the radio and climate controls. (Figure A) 2. (Figure B) Continue to kit assembly Ford Focus (Figure A) Ford Explorer/Explorer Sport Trac , Mercury Mountaineer Open center console and remove (2) Phillips screws then unclip and remove entire panel surrounding shifter. (Figure A) 2. Remove dash panel surrounding radio to access the factory radio screws. (Figure B) 3. Remove (4) 9/32 screws to remove the factory radio. 7 Dash Disassembly INST-581FD Ford F-Series Super Duty Ford Super Duty Unsnap and remove entire panel surrounding the radio and climate controls. (Figure A) 2. Remove (4) 9/32 screws to remove the factory radio. (Figure B) Continue to kit assembly 1. Unclip and remove the power outlet panel and the blank panel on the left and right side of the radio trim panel. (Figure A) 2. Remove the (2) 9/32 screws exposed behind the two panels previously removed. 3. Unclip and remove the entire radio trim panel including the A/C control and vents. 4. Remove (4) 9/32 screws securing the radio. Continue to kit assembly (Figure A) (Figure B) (Figure A) 7

8 Dash Disassembly INST-581FD 1. Open center console lid and unclip and remove the center console trim panel surrounding the shifter. (Figure A) 2. Remove (2) Phillips screws from the storage bin then unclip and remove the bin. (Figure B) 3. Unclip and remove the upper and lower center trim panel as one assembly. (Figure C) 4. Remove (4) 9/32 screws securing the radio. Unplug and remove the radio. Continue to kit assembly Lincoln MKX (Figure B) 1. Unclip and remove the panel surrounding the shifter. (Figure A) 2. Remove (2) 9/32 screws from the bottom of the radio/climate control trim panel. (Figure B) 3. Unclip and remove the entire panel surrounding the radio and including the climate controls. (Figure B) 4. Remove (4) 9/32 screws securing the radio. Unplug and remove the Radio. Continue to kit assembly Lincoln Navigator (Figure A) (Figure C) (Figure A) (Figure B) 8

9 Kit Assembly INST-581FD Double DIN radio provision 1. For the 2007 Ford Edge/ Expedition, Explorer/ Fusion/Mercury Milan, F-150, Five Hundred/Freestyle/Mustang/ Mercury Montego, Lincoln Mark LT and the 2008 Super Duty, cut and remove the rear mounting tabs from the Double DIN Brackets. If your vehicle is not listed above move to Step For the 2007 Ford Edge/ Expedition, Explorer, Fusion, 2007 Mustang and the 2008 Super Duty attach the included spacers to the back of the radio housing mounting tabs. (Figure A) If your vehicle is not listed above move to Step Attach the double DIN brackets to the radio housing. (Figure B and C) Note: The notch in the housing should be on top. 4. Slide the Double DIN radio into the radio housing/bracket assembly and secure the radio to the assembly using the screws supplied with the radio. (Figure D) 5. Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra or AXXESS. Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation. 6. Reassemble dash in reverse order of disassembly. (Figure A) (Figure B) (Figure C) (Figure D) 9

10 Kit Assembly INST-581FD Stacked ISO units provision 1. For the 2007 Ford Edge/ Expedition, Explorer/ Fusion/Mercury Milan, F-150, Five Hundred/Freestyle/Mustang/ Mercury Montego, Lincoln Mark LT and the 2008 Ford Super Duty, cut and remove the rear mounting tabs from the Double DIN Brackets. If your vehicle is not listed above move to Step For the 2007 Ford Edge/ Expedition, Ford Explorer, Ford Fusion, 2007 Mustang and the 2008 Super Duty attach the included spacers to the back of the radio housing mounting tabs. (Figure A) If your vehicle is not listed above move to Step Attach the double DIN brackets to the radio housing. Note: The notch in the housing should be on top. (Figure B and C) 4. Slide the ISO mount units into the radio housing/bracket assembly and secure the units to the assembly using the screws supplied with the units. (Figure D) 5. Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra or AXXESS. 11 Kit Assembly INST-581FD DIN radio provision with pocket 1. (a) For the Ford Edge/Expedition 2007, Explorer , Fusion , Mustang 2007 and the Super Duty 2008 attach the included spacers to the back of the radio housing mounting tabs. (Figure A) Note: Use the screws supplied with this kit to mount the radio housing in the vehicles that require the spacers. (b) For the Ford Freestar , Monterey , Focus , and the F-Series Super Duty , slide the included brackets onto the sides of the radio housings pocket from the back of the housing forward. (Figure B) If your vehicle is not listed above move to Step Slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs outward. (Figure C) 3. Slide the aftermarket radio into the cage until it snaps in place. (Figure D) 4. Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra or AXXESS. Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation. 5. Reassemble dash in reverse order of disassembly. (Figure A) (Figure B) (Figure C) (Figure D) 11

(a) For the Ford Edge/Expedition 2007, Explorer , Fusion , Mustang 2007 and the Super Duty 2008 attach the included spacers to the back of the radio housing mounting tabs. (b) For the Ford Freestar , Monterey , Focus , and the F-Series Super Duty , slide the included brackets onto the sides of the radio housings pocket from the back of the housing forward. (Figure B) If your vehicle is not listed above move to Step Mount the ISO Brackets to the head unit with the screws supplied with the unit. (Figure C) 3. Slide the head unit into the radio opening until the side clips engage. (Figure D) 4. Snap the Trim plate into the Radio Housing. (Figure D) 5. Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra or AXXESS. Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation. 6. Quite los (4) tornillos de 9/32 para quitar el radio de fábrica. (Figura B) Continuará al ensamble del kit (Figura A) (Figura B) 1. (Figura A) 2. Quite el panel del tablero que rodea el radio para tener acceso a los tornillos del radio de fábrica. (Figura B) 3. Quite los (4) tornillos de 9/32 para quitar el radio de fábrica. Quite los (4) tornillos de 9/32 para quitar el radio de fábrica. (Figura B) Continuará al ensamble del kit 1. Desenganche y quite el panel del tomacorriente y el panel de tapa del lado izquierdo y derecho del panel de la moldura del radio. (Figura A) 2. Quite los (2) tornillos de 9/32 expuestos detrás de los dos paneles que quitó anteriormente. 3. Desenganche y quite todo el panel de la moldura del radio, incluyendo el control y las rejillas del aire acondicionado. 4. Quite los (4) tornillos de 9/32 que sujetan el radio. (Figura A) 2. Quite los (2) tornillos Phillips del cajón de almacenamiento y luego desenganche y quite el cajón. (Figura B) 3. Desenganche y quite el panel superior e inferior de la moldura central como un mismo ensamble. (Figura C) 4. Quite los (4) tornillos de 9/32 que sujetan el radio. Desconecte y quite el radio. Continuará al ensamble del kit (Figura B) 1. Desenganche y quite el panel que rodea la palanca de velocidades. (Figura A) 2. Quite los (2) tornillos de 9/32 de la parte inferior del panel de la moldura de control del radio/clima. (Figura B) 3. Desenganche y quite todo el panel que rodea el radio, incluyendo los controles del clima. (Figura B) 4. Quite los (4) tornillos de 9/32 que sujetan el radio. Desconecte y quite el radio. Para 2007 Ford Edge/Expedition, Explorer/Fusion/ Mercury Milan, F-150, Five Hundred/ Freestyle/Mustang/Mercury Montego, Lincoln Mark LT and the 2008 Super Duty, corte y quite las pestañas traseras de montaje de los soportes Doble DIN. ISi su vehículo no se incluye en esta lista, vaya al Para 2007 Ford Edge/Expedition, Explorer, Fusion, 2007 Mustang y the 2008 Super Duty coloque los espaciadores incluidos en la parte posterior de las pestañas de montaje de la carcasa del radio. (Figura A) Si su vehículo no se incluye en esta lista, vaya al Paso Una los soportes correspondientes doble DIN a la carcasa del radio. (Figura B y C) Nota: La muesca de la carcasa debe estar en la parte superior. 4. Deslice el radio doble DIN en el soporte/ensamble del radio y sujete el radio al ensamble utilizando los tornillos suministrados con el radio. (Figura D) 5. Ubique el arnés de cableado de fábrica en el tablero. Metra recomienda el uso de un adaptador adecuado de acoplamiento de Metra o de AXXESS. Vuelva a conectar la terminal negativa de la batería y pruebe la unidad para verificar que funcione correctamente. 6. Vuelva a armar el tablero al revés de como lo desarmó. Para 2007 Ford Edge/Expedition, Explorer/Fusion/ Mercury Milan, F-150, Five Hundred/ Freestyle/Mustang/Mercury Montego, Lincoln Mark LT and the 2008 Ford Super Duty, corte y quite las pestañas traseras de montaje de los soportes Doble DIN. Si su vehículo no se incluye en esta lista, vaya al Paso Para 2007 Ford Edge/Expedition, Ford Explorer, Ford Fusion, 2007 Mustang and the 2008 Super Duty coloque los espaciadores incluidos en la parte posterior de las pestañas de montaje de la carcasa del radio. (a) Para Ford Edge/Expedition 2007, Explorer , Fusion , Mustang 2007 and the Super Duty 2008 coloque los espaciadores incluidos en la parte posterior de las pestañas de montaje de la carcasa del radio. (Figura A) Nota: Use los tornillos suministrados con este kit para montar la carcasa del radio en los vehículos que requieran los espaciadores. (b) Para Ford Freestar , Monterey , Focus , and the F-Series Super Duty , deslice los soportes incluidos en los lados de la cavidad de las carcasas del radio desde la parte posterior de la carcasa hacia adelante. Deslice el radio de mercado secundario en la reja hasta que entre a presión. (Figura D) 4. Ubique el arnés de cableado de fábrica en el tablero. Metra recomienda el uso de un adaptador adecuado de acoplamiento de Metra o de AXXESS. Vuelva a conectar la terminal negativa de la batería y pruebe la unidad para verificar que funcione correctamente. 5. Vuelva a armar el tablero al revés de como lo desarmó. (a) Para Ford Edge/Expedition 2007, Explorer , Fusion , Mustang 2007 y the Super Duty 2008 coloque los espaciadores incluidos en la parte posterior de las pestañas de montaje de la carcasa del radio. (Figura A) Nota: Use los tornillos suministrados con este kit para montar la carcasa del radio en los vehículos que requieran los espaciadores. (b) Para Ford Freestar , Monterey , Focus , and the F-Series Super Duty , deslice los soportes incluidos en los lados de la cavidad de las carcasas del radio desde la parte posterior de la carcasa hacia adelante.
