Cumplimentar la solicitud on-line. 2. Hacer efectivo el pago. Es muy importante que se nos facilite la dirección de y correo postal del asistente, no de la institución que realiza el pago de la inscripción, ya que la documentación relevante para el Encuentro (certificados, avisos de última hora, etc.) se remitirá a la dirección facilitada. NOTA: Para evitar posibles errores, por favor, acuda al Encuentro con una copia del recibo de pago, o bien conociendo los siguientes datos: fecha del ingreso, importe y nombre del laboratorio/agencia/institución que ha realizado el pago (si es el caso). Qué es la inscripción anticipada? Se considera inscripción anticipada cuando tanto la inscripción como el pago se realizan antes del día 1 de septiembre. La inscripción anticipada supone una reducción en el precio de inscripción y le da opción a asistir a un taller sin coste adicional. (El precio de la inscripción anticipada es de 250 ). A cuántos talleres me puedo inscribir? Los talleres se celebran de forma simultánea por lo que sólo se puede asistir a uno de ellos. En la aplicación informática, por qué no me puedo inscribir al taller que yo quiero? Los talleres tienen un número limitado de plazas por lo que, una vez que se completan estas plazas, la aplicación informática no permite que se inscriban más personas. Qué tengo que hacer para saber si estoy admitido al taller que he elegido? Cómo puedo conseguir el material del taller?

2 Los listados de las personas inscritas y admitidas en los talleres serán publicados y actualizados en nuestra página Web días antes de que se celebre el Encuentro, así como el material necesario que se utilizará en cada taller. Habitualmente no se entrega material impreso en los talleres. En ese mismo documento estará incluido un mapa del lugar donde se celebra cada uno de estos talleres y las indicaciones para llegar a él. Qué pasa si no hago el pago efectivo antes del 31 de octubre? Si no se realiza el pago antes del día 31 de octubre, no se podrá asistir al taller en el que se haya inscrito. Además, a las inscripciones realizadas a partir de esta fecha no se les puede garantizar la disponibilidad de todo el material que se entrega a los asistentes en el Encuentro. 3 Preguntas relacionadas con las comunicaciones en el Encuentro Qué es una comunicación oral breve? Cuánto tiempo dura? Cuántas diapositivas debo exponer? Una comunicación oral breve es una exposición de 4 minutos. Aunque no existe límite de diapositivas o de uso de otro material de apoyo, usted deberá ajustarse estrictamente al tiempo establecido. El turno de preguntas es de 2 minutos y el moderador puede agrupar este tiempo cada cierto número de comunicaciones orales breves. Cuál es la diferencia entre una comunicación oral breve y una comunicación oral? Una comunicación oral es una exposición de 10 minutos, y una comunicación oral breve es una exposición de 4 minutos. Qué es una presentación virtual? Quién puede optar? La comunicación virtual consiste en que el ponente realiza la exposición a través de internet. Pueden optar todos los participantes, pero será el Comité Científico el que decida el número final de comunicaciones virtuales que se realicen. Tendrán prioridad los países en vías de desarrollo y aquellos con dificultades de obtener visados. Para los asistentes nacionales tendrán prioridad aquellos profesionales de la práctica clínica. Puedo elegir presentar mi comunicación en formato póster? Puede hacerlo. Al enviar el resumen, deberá seleccionar su preferencia de presentación, pero el Comité Científico podrá sugerirle otra modalidad. Cuáles son los requisitos para optar al premio al enviar el resumen? Todos los resúmenes optan al premio, excepto aquellos en que los autores expresen su deseo de no optar al mismo. Tengo que/puedo defender mi póster? El póster estará exhibido durante los días del Encuentro, pero NO se contempla la posibilidad de defenderlo formalmente. No obstante, durante las pausas del café

4 deberá estar presente ya que los asistentes se acercarán al área de exhibición de póster para debatir con los autores su trabajo. Por qué me imprimen el poster? La organización imprime todos los pósteres por varios motivos: 1) Evitar costes y problemas de transporte a los ponentes; 2) Facilitar el montaje de la exhibición de los pósteres; 3) Garantizar que todos los pósteres tienen el mismo formato y tamaño, independientemente de los recursos de los autores. Qué ocurre si el primer día del Encuentro no estoy presente para debatir con los asistentes mi trabajo? Los autores con comunicación en formato póster deben recoger la documentación el miércoles, antes del horario de la comida. A partir de ese momento la organización retirará todos los pósteres correspondientes a los autores que no han recogido su documentación. Ya que el propósito último de la exposición es facilitar el intercambio de opiniones entre asistentes y autores durante la duración del Encuentro.

5 Preguntas relacionadas con el envío de resúmenes al rincón del alumno En estos momentos soy alumno, pero para las fechas de celebración del Encuentro ya habré terminado mis estudios. Puedo mandar mi resumen al rincón del alumno? Sí. Los alumnos (Grado, Máster, EIR) para poder mandar su resumen al rincón del alumno han de serlo a fecha del cierre de envío de resúmenes, independientemente del estatus que tengan en la fecha de asistencia y celebración del Encuentro. El envío del resumen como alumno en cualquiera de las tres categorías permite presentar un trabajo sin resultados, en forma de póster. En estos momentos soy alumno, pero quiero mandar un resumen proveniente de un trabajo de investigación finalizado y por tanto con resultados. Puedo mandar mi resumen fuera del rincón del alumno? Sí. Los alumnos (Grado, Máster, EIR) que presenten trabajos con resultados pueden enviar su resumen como cualquier asistente fuera del rincón del alumno. De esta forma su trabajo podrá ser aceptado para su presentación oral o póster. En estos momentos soy alumno de Grado, he mandado un resumen (rincón del alumno u otra categoría). Cuando lo envío estoy matriculado como alumno, pero para las fechas de celebración del Encuentro ya habré terminado mis estudios. Puedo inscribirme y pagar la cuota como alumno? Sí, ya que la cuota de inscripción reducida como alumno es aplicable a estudiantes de Grado (excluido el curso de homologación Diplomado/Grado) que presentan su trabajo, con o sin resultados y que a fecha de 3 de junio están matriculados en algún centro universitario para realizar los estudios de Grado. Por lo tanto, siempre que cumpla dicho requisito podrá inscribirse y pagar la cuota reducida como alumno independientemente de que a fecha de la inscripción haya terminado dichos estudios.

6 Si usted es alumno de Grado pero no tiene ningún trabajo aceptado, podrá inscribirse y pagar la cuota reducida de alumno, si mantiene su condición de alumno a fecha de pago de la inscripción, independientemente del estatus que tengan en la fecha de la celebración del Encuentro. Nota: recuerde que, una vez realizada la inscripción, desde la secretaría se le solicitará una prueba de dicho estatus de estudiante anterior al 3 de junio.

7 Preguntas relacionadas con el libro de comunicaciones del Encuentro Qué se incluye en el libro de comunicaciones? En el libro de comunicaciones se incluyen todos los trabajos aceptados y que, voluntariamente, los autores envían, según las normas establecidas, a través del área personal de la plataforma del Encuentro. Todos aquellos autores que no envíen dicho texto antes del plazo estipulado, deben tener en cuenta que su trabajo no se publicará en el libro de comunicaciones del Encuentro y que no existe en este evento otro medio de difusión alternativo. Es obligatorio enviar el texto para el libro de comunicaciones? El envío del texto correspondiente al resumen aceptado no es obligatorio, es una decisión que corresponde a los autores. Qué ventajas y desventajas obtengo enviando el texto para el libro de comunicaciones? El libro de comunicaciones del Encuentro, en su versión definitiva (publicada a partir de los 30 días siguientes a la finalización del Encuentro), tiene ISBN. Por este motivo, puede ser considerado, en algunas circunstancias, como mérito curricular. No obstante, tenga en cuenta que algunas revistas científicas podrían no aceptar como trabajos originales aquellos que han sido total o parcialmente publicados en un libro de comunicaciones de un evento científico. Qué difusión tiene el libro de comunicaciones? La versión definitiva del libro de comunicaciones se publica a partir de los 30 días siguientes a la finalización del Encuentro en la página web del mismo y en diferentes medios de difusión electrónica. Por qué la versión definitiva del libro de comunicaciones se publica a partir de los 30 días siguientes a la finalización del Encuentro? La versión final sólo contiene aquellos trabajos que han sido presentados en el Encuentro y no recoge aquellos trabajos no presentados en el Encuentro por cualquier incidencia ajena a la organización del mismo. El libro de ponencias a efectos curriculares es un formato electrónico? No. Al poseer ISBN es un formato en papel que se entrega para la obtención de dicho ISBN, pero que a efectos de ser respetuosos con el medio ambiente, el Comité Organizador ha decidido entregarlo sólo en formato electrónico. Existe un repositorio de todos los libros de ponencias en su versión definitiva que podrá

9 Preguntas relacionadas con el desarrollo del Encuentro Por qué no puedo entrar o salir de una sala de comunicaciones cuando ha comenzado? Una vez que el ponente está hablando, el hecho de abrir la puerta puede ocasionar ruidos y molestias al ponente y al público, por eso la puerta permanecerá cerrada mientras dure la comunicación. Solamente se abrirá entre una comunicación y otra. Cómo y dónde recoger la documentación? Qué documentación se me entrega? La documentación se entregará en el hall durante el primer día del Encuentro, y en la Secretaría el resto de días. Se le entregará un identificador, la hoja de evaluación general, la hoja de evaluación de pósteres y un crucigrama. Además, se le entregará una mochila con el programa, una memoria USB que contiene el libro de contenido científico y, si es necesario, unos auriculares para la traducción simultánea. Por qué es importante que pase mi identificador por el lector de código de barras? Porque de esta forma quedará registrada su asistencia a las sesiones, registro que es necesario si desea obtener los créditos de formación continuada del Encuentro. Cómo acredito que he pagado la cena del Encuentro? En su identificador quedará registrada la inscripción a la cena, por eso es imprescindible que lo lleve en un lugar visible cuando acceda al restaurante. Por qué conviene que rellene la evaluación general del Encuentro? Si se me olvida, la puedo rellenar online? Para la organización es muy útil recibir la evaluación del Encuentro, para así poder mejorar año tras año. Puede enviarse on-line una vez finalizado el Encuentro desde la página web. Por qué hacer el crucigrama? El crucigrama, aparte de hacer pasar a los asistentes un rato divertido, aumenta la difusión de las investigaciones presentadas en los pósteres. Cómo conoceré los resultados de los premios? Y el del crucigrama?

10 Los premios a la mejor comunicación de cada categoría, así como al crucigrama, se otorgarán en la clausura del Encuentro y será imprescindible que el ganador esté presente, de lo contrario, el premio se otorgará al siguiente finalista. Una vez finalizado el Encuentro, se publicará la información en la página web. En qué consisten los premios? Cuáles son los requisitos para recibirlos? Los premios a la mejor comunicación de cada categoría consisten en la devolución del importe de la inscripción para uno de los autores del trabajo. Los premios se entregarán durante el Acto de Clausura, y será imprescindible que al menos uno de los autores se encuentre presente para recogerlo. En caso contrario, el premio pasará al siguiente trabajo mejor valorado. La organización podrá requerir la identificación mediante DNI de la persona que recoja el premio. El ganador del crucigrama recibirá un fin de semana gratis en la casa rural El Caño (Gandiluste) provincia de Salamanca. Qué ocurre con los pósteres al finalizar el Encuentro? El último día del Encuentro a las 12:00 horas, los autores podrán recoger su póster si lo desean. Aquellos pósteres que no hayan sido recogidos antes del último día a las 14:00 horas, serán destruidos.

11 Preguntas relacionadas con las acreditaciones del Encuentro Cómo obtendré los créditos de formación continuada? Para obtener los créditos de formación continuada debe asistir al 100% de las sesiones plenarias y registrar su entrada y salida a las salas mediante el código de barras. Cómo consigo los diplomas/justificantes de: (a) mi asistencia al Encuentro, (b) he presentado un póster, (c) he presentado una comunicación y (d) he recibido un premio? Los certificados de asistencia podrán descargarse on-line a partir de la semana siguiente al mismo. Recibirá un con el enlace para descargarlo. El certificado de la comunicación oral u oral breve se lo entregará el moderador de la sesión cuando ésta finalice. El certificado de poster se recogerá en secretaría el último día del Encuentro. El certificado del premio se entregará durante la ceremonia de clausura. Nota: Recuerde que para todos los certificados se utilizará los autores (tal y como aparecen en la plataforma de envío de resúmenes) y el orden establecido a fecha de envío.

12 Otras preguntas relacionadas con el Encuentro Por qué dicen que es un Encuentro con aspecto social? Todos los años la organización intenta contratar o comprar el máximo de servicios o productos a asociaciones de discapacitados u ONGs, de esta forma aportamos nuestro granito de arena para ayudar a los más desfavorecidos. Además, las tarifas de inscripción son muy reducidas, para así facilitar la asistencia a los profesionales de la práctica clínica, y existen descuentos importantes y programas para estudiantes (Student Research!) y participantes de países en vías de desarrollo. Qué papel juegan las asociaciones de pacientes en este Encuentro? Con esta iniciativa lo que se pretende es promover la interacción entre los profesionales de la investigación en cuidados y la ciudadanía a través de la participación en el Encuentro de asociaciones de pacientes. Estas asociaciones presentarán sus iniciativas y compartirán con los investigadores sus necesidades. Al mismo tiempo, podrán asistir a las sesiones científicas pudiendo aportar su visión como pacientes. Qué más debería saber sobre el Encuentro? 1. Durante la celebración del Encuentro existirá una sala de informática cuyo uso será gratuito, pero que por razones de disponibilidad sólo podrá utilizarse por períodos máximos de media hora. 2. Existe un servicio de ludoteca para los hijos de los asistentes. Este servicio deberá solicitarse por escrito antes del día 1 de Octubre. 3. La sede dispondrá de un acceso y de las condiciones necesarias para personas con discapacidad, que debe solicitarse a la organización por escrito antes del día 1 de Octubre. 4. Habrá un servicio de interpretación simultánea durante el Encuentro. Las presentaciones pueden realizarse tanto en inglés como en español, excepto en las salas donde específicamente se indique el idioma de presentación. 5. MUY IMPORTANTE: Será imprescindible para el préstamo de los receptores de traducción dar a la organización un documento de identidad. Además, junto con su documentación, si es necesario, se le entregarán también los auriculares. 6. Tenga en cuenta, que si al Acto de Inauguración estuviese prevista la presencia de autoridades, se requerirán medidas de seguridad adicionales que pueden enlentecer el proceso de acogida. 13 ENGLISH VERSION Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for the Conference Investén-isciii: Questions related to aspects previous to the Conference Which requisites do I have to fulfill to register for the Conference? 1. Complete the on-line application form. 2. Make the payment. NOTE: In order to avoid misunderstandings, please bring with you a copy of the payment receipt, or be able to provide the following details: date of the payment, amount and name of the institution/agency that made the payment (if applicable). It is very important that you enter your personal address and also the mailing address in the form, as we will send important information about the Conference to this address (certificates, last minute information, etc.). What is early registration? Early registration is considered when both the registration and the payment are received before September 1. Early registration is a discount on the registration fee and gives you the option to attend a workshop with no additional cost. (The early registration price is 250 ). Can I attend a workshop? Workshops are in Spanish, so you only can attend one if you speak Spanish. (for further information please see the Spanish FAQ document). Why can t I apply on-line to attend the workshop? Workshops have a limited number of seats. Once is full, there is no possibility to apply. (Remember workshops are only in Spanish). What do I have to do to know if I have been admitted to the workshop that I have chosen? How can I get the material from the workshop? Registered and admitted workshop's listings will be published and updated on the website days before the Conference is held, and also the material of each workshop. Usually there is not printed material delivered in workshops. In the same

14 document will be included a map of the place where it is celebrated each of these workshops and how to get there. What happens if I do not make the payment before October 31 st? If the payment is not made before October 31st, you will not be able to attend the workshop. Besides, for registrations after this date, the organization cannot guarantee the availability of all the materials of the Conference. Is there a Conference s travel agency? 15 Questions related to the presentations during the Conference What is a short oral presentation? How long is it last? How many slides shall I include? A short oral presentation is a 4 minutes. Although there is no limit on the number of slides or other supporting material, you must adhere to the set time limit. Question time is 2 minutes and the chair can group this time every few brief oral communications. Which is the difference between a short oral presentation and an oral presentation? An oral presentation is a 10 minutes presentation, and a short oral presentation is a 4 minutes presentation. What is a virtual presentation? Who can apply for it? Virtual presentation consists of a presentation made through the internet. Everybody can apply for this modality, but the number of virtual presentations included in the program will be decided by the scientific committee. Preference is given to developing countries and those countries with difficulties obtaining visa. Can I choose to submit my presentation in poster format? You can do it. When you send your abstract, you must select your preference of presentation, but bear in mind that the scientific committee may suggest another modality. What are the requirements to be eligible for the award by submitting the abstract? All abstracts are opting to award, except those in which the authors express their wish not to opt it. Shall/May I defend my poster? No, the poster will be exhibited during the whole duration of the conference, but the possibility of defending it is NOT provided. Nevertheless, attendees usually approach the poster exhibition area to discuss the work with authors during coffee break.

16 Why does the organization print my poster? The organization prints all posters for several reasons: 1) To prevent speakers expenses and transportation problems; 2) To facilitate the setting up and exhibition of posters; 3) To ensure that all posters have the same format and size, no matter the authors resources. What happens if the first day of the conference I am not there to discuss my work with attendees? The authors who have a poster format communication should collect their documentation on Wednesday before lunch time. Thereafter, the organization will remove all posters from authors who have not collected their documentation on time; as the ultimate purpose of the exhibition is to facilitate the exchange views between participants and authors during the Conference.

17 Questions related to the submission of abstracts to the corner of the student I am student at this moment, but by the dates of the Conference I will have finished my studies. Can I send my abstract to the student corner? Yes. Students (Bachelor, Master, EIR) in order to send the abstract to the student corner must be students at the closing date for submission of abstracts, regardless of the status they have at the date of the Conference. The abstract submission as a student in any of the three categories allows submitting a paper without results, as a poster. I am student at this moment, but I want to send an abstract from a finished research work and hence with results. Should I send my abstract as an assistant to other categories? Yes. Students (Bachelor, Master, EIR) that present papers with results shall be registered as a regular attendant, outside the student corner. Thus the work may be accepted for oral or poster presentation. I am student at this moment, but by the dates of the Conference I will have finished my studies. Can I register and pay the fee as a student? The reduced registration fee as a student is only applicable to students of Bachelor to present their work, with or without results. As long as this this requirement are met, may register and pay the reduced fee as a student. If you are a student of Bachelor but has no work accepted in poster or oral modality, you can only register and pay the reduced fee as a student, if you keep your student status up to date of payment of the registration, regardless of the

18 status you have in the date of the Conference. If by the registration and payment date you do not maintain your student status, you must pay the regular fee. Note: please remember that once the registration and payment is held, the Secretariat will request a proof of such student status prior to June 3 rd.

19 Questions concerning the Book of Abstracts What is included in the Book of Abstracts? The book of abstracts will include those accepted works that voluntarily have been sent by authors through the personal area at the official site, according to submission guidelines. All those authors who do not send the text before the deadline should take into account that there is no other alternative way of dissemination in this event. Am I required to send the text for the Book of Abstract? Sending the text corresponding to the accepted abstract is not required. It is a decision that corresponds to the authors. What advantages and disadvantages do I obtain by sending the text for the Book of Abstract? The final version of the Book of Abstract will be published 30 days following the end of the Conference, and it has International Standard Book Number (ISBN). In some circumstances it can be considered as curricular merit. Nevertheless, please bear in mind that some scientific journals might not accept as original work one that has been previously published totally or partially in a book of abstracts of a scientific event. What are the dissemination channels of the Book of Abstracts? The final version of the Book of Abstract will be published thirty days after the end of the Conference in the official website and in different electronic sites. Why is the final version of the Book of Abstract published thirty days after the end of the Conference? The final version only includes those works that have been presented in the Conference and does not include those works that have not been presented in the Conference except any incident due to the organization. Has the Book of Abstract curricular purpose as electronic format? No. As the Book of Abstract has ISBN number is a paper format, but in order to be respectful with the environment the organizing committee has decided to deliver it only in electronic format. 21 Questions during the Conference Why am I not able to get in or out a room when a presentation has started? Once the speaker has started the, the fact of opening the door may be noisy and may upset both the speaker and the public, so the door shall be closed until the speaker has finished. It will be opened between presentations. How and where shall I pick up my registration documents? What will I receive at registering? Registration desk will be at the hall during the first day of the Conference, and at the Secretariat the rest of the days. You will receive an identification badge, general evaluation form, poster evaluation form and crosswords. You will also receive a bag containing the program, an USB memory which includes the book of scientific content and earphones for simultaneous translation, if required. What is the bar code registration for? The bar code registration is useful ONLY for Spanish residents. This system controls attendance to the sessions for obtaining accreditation. This accreditation is only valid in Spain, so please don t register your attendance if you live in another country. How can I show that I have paid the dinner? Your registration to the dinner is in your identification badge, thus it is required that you bring it for accessing the restaurant. Why should I complete general evaluation of the Conference? If I forget, may I complete it on-line? The information received through the evaluation is very important for the organization, as it is used for improving every year. It may be submitted on-line after the conference through the website. Why do the crossword? The crossword puzzle is a funny way of increasing the dissemination of the research presented in the posters.

22 How can I know the awards granted? And the winner of the crossword puzzle? The awards to the best presentation of each modality, as well as the crossword puzzle winner, will be granted during the closing ceremony, and it will be required to be present at the ceremony, otherwise, the award will be granted to the next finalist. After the Conference, this information will be published on the website. Which are the requirements for being eligible for receiving the award? What does the award consist of? The awards for the best presentation of each modality consist of the reimbursement of registration fee to one of the authors of the presentation. Prizes will be awarded during the Closing Ceremony, and it will be required that one of the authors is present. Otherwise, the prize will be awarded to the second best evaluated presentation. The organization reserves the right to request the ID card of the person awarded. The crossword puzzle winner will be offered a weekend stay for 2 people in a cottage named El Caño (Gandiluste) in Salamanca, Spain. What happen with the posters when the Conference finish? The last day of the Conference at 12:00 pm the authors will take with them the poster if they want. Those posters that they did not take it before the last day at 14:00 pm will be destroyed by the organization.

23 Questions related to the accreditation of the Conference How do I get the certificate of attendance? How do I get the certificate of presentation? How do I get the certificate of the award? Certificates of attendance will be available to download the week after the Conference. You will receive an with the link. The certificate of oral or short oral presentation will be given to you by the chair during the session. The certificate of the poster will be given to you at Secretariat desk the last day of the Conference. The certificate of the award will be given during the closing ceremony. Note: Remember that for all certificates, the Secretariat will be used the authors (as listed on the abstract submission platform) and the order established at submission date.

24 Other questions related to the Conference Which is the social aspect of the Conference? Every year the organization tries to buy or rent the maximum of products or services to handicapped people associations or NGOs, thus we contribute to help the most disadvantaged. Besides, the registration fees are reduced in order to facilitate the attendance of clinical practice professionals. We also offer discounts to students (Student Research! Program), and also discounts to attendants from developing countries. What is the role of patient associations in the Conference? This initiative aims to promote interaction between healthcare research professionals and general population through the participation of patients associations in the Conference. These associations will present their initiatives and will share their needs with researchers. At the same time, they will be able to attend the scientific sessions and thus contribute with their opinion as patients. What else should I know about the Conference? 1. During the Conference there will be a Project development Office, which informs and advises about financial aid and the presentation of projects and related aspects. 3. The venue has access for disabled people; the service must be requested in writing before the 1 st of October. 5. There will be simultaneous translation at the Conference. Concurrent sessions may be presented either in Spanish or English, except in rooms where the language specifically indicated. 6. IMPORTANT NOTICE: It will be mandatory for all the attendants to give the organization an ID document or passport in the case they want to use the simultaneous translation and if necessary, you will also be given headphones. 7.
