Next Sunday, WORLD MISSION SUNDAY, we are called to be part of the Church s missionary efforts, supporting mission priests, religious Sisters and Brothers, and lay catechists who provide loving service to those most in need. As Catholics around the world here at home and in the Missions gather at the Eucharist around the table of the Lord, let us PRAY for the Church s worldwide missionary work OFFER financial HELP through The Society for the PROPAGATION OF THE FAITH for vulnerable communities throughout Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Pacific Islands Sample Bulletin Announcements WORLD MISSION SUNDAY For World Mission Sunday Be A Mission Voice! Today, with Catholics of the world, we are called to offer, at this Eucharistic celebration, our prayers and our generous financial support, through The Society for the Propagation of the Faith, to continue the mission of Jesus. Today we speak up through our prayers and personal sacrifices for our brothers and sisters in the Missions. As little as > $25 helps support a catechist for a month in Latin America > $75 provides for the work of religious Sisters in Africa > $100 assists children in schools in Asia As always, your prayers are your most treasured gift to the Missions. Your prayers and financial help, offered today, WORLD MISSION SUNDAY, support mission priests, religious Sisters and Brothers, and lay catechists who are Christ s witnesses to a world so in need of His healing love and peace. For the week after World Mission Sunday Thanks For Your Mission Voice! Thank you for being a voice for mission on World Mission Sunday! 3 Celebrant Jesus calls us to go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel. On this World Mission Sunday, we ask God s blessing that, through our self-giving, the Good News of Jesus may be proclaimed to all nations and peoples. Sample General Intercessions Lector For our Holy Father, Pope Francis, first missionary of the Church, and for all missionaries who give their lives to tell the glory of the Lord among the nations, that they may be loving, wise and holy witnesses of Christ, our Savior, let us pray to the Lord. For the leaders of nations, that they may be committed to justice for all peoples and dedicated to building a world at peace, let us pray to the Lord. For those who are ill or who live in spiritual loneliness, that they may unite their sufferings with the Crucified Christ for the redemption of the world, let us pray to the Lord. For an increase in our own missionary spirit, so that as voices for mission, we may help the message and love of our Lord be made known to the ends of the earth, let us pray to the Lord. WORLD MISSION SUNDAY Celebrant God our Father, you bless us with the gift of faith. Increase our faith as we answer the call to take part in the worldwide mission of Jesus. 4 Celebrante Jesús nos llama a ir al mundo entero y proclamar el Evangelio. En este Domingo Mundial de Misiones, pedimos la bendición de Dios para que, a través de nuestra entrega, la Buena Nueva de Jesús puedan ser proclamadas a todas las naciones y pueblos. Lector Para nuestro Santo Padre, el Papa Francisco, primer misionero de la Iglesia y para todos los misioneros que dan la vida para contar la gloria del Señor entre las naciones, para que sean testigos amorosos, sabios y santos de Cristo, nuestro Salvador, roguemos al Señor. Pope Francis invites the entire Church to support the mission dioceses in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe, where priests, religious and lay leaders serve the world s most vulnerable communities. Please keep the Pope s missions in your prayers, and be generous in next week s collection for the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. THE WEEKEND OF WORLD MISSION SUNDAY TODAY IS WORLD MISSION SUNDAY. We celebrate this day by remembering the revitalizing mission at the heart of our Christian faith to bring the Gospel to all!
