2 Regular -er Verbs and Nombre Subject Endings Bloque Fecha REGULAR -ER ENDINGS yo -o l nosotros -emos I -emos tú -es l vosotros -éis I -éis él -e l ellos -en ella -e I ellas -en Ud. -e I Uds. -en To create a simple sentence, follow the formula Subject + Verb Base + Ending. Using the regular -er verb, comer, a simple sentence now looks like this: Subject + Verb Base + Ending yo com o = Yo como. (I eat, I do eat, I am eating.) This is all you have to do in order to conjugate a verb in the correct form (forma) and create a simple sentence. Below are all the conjugations or formas of the infinitive verb comer: yo como nosotros comemos comemos tú comes vosotros coméis coméis él come ellos comen ella come ellas comen Ud. come Uds. comen Note: 1) The verb ver is irregular (does not have the regular ending) in only the yo form: yo veo All other forms of this verb have the regular endings. 2) The verb ver is used in the expression, Let s see! = Vamos a ver! or A ver! 3) Aprender + a + infinitive = to learn to do something. For example: Ella aprende a tocar la guitarra. = She is learning to play the guitar. 4) Deber + infinitive = to ought (should) to do something. For example: Nosotros debemos practicar la pronunciación más. We ought (should) to practice the pronunciation more. 2
