1 Calendar Instructions (English Version) 4 years This calendar is designed to be a daily 5-minute or less English lesson for the summer. Each day there is a vocabulary word that is from the units we worked on in class to review with your child. Also, there are songs and fun activities for each month. Additionally, everyday you should have them answer the following questions: How do you feel? o I feel What did you eat today? o I ate What did you learn today? o I learned If you and your child want to do more, try singing the songs, doing the activities and asking some additional questions, such as these: What (items-food, toys, colors, clothes) do you like? o I like What did you sing today? o I sang What did you read today? o I read What did you draw today? o I drew What did you see today? o I saw Who did you play with today? o I played with One of the best ways to improve your child s language ability is to read to your child daily, in Spanish or English. Even five minutes a day will be really helpful! It has been a pleasure working with your child this year. Happy learning!

2 Uso del Calendario: Instrucciones Se puede usar este calendario para practicar el inglés con tu este verano. Las actividades diarias no llevan más de cinco minutos para completarse. Cada día, hay una palabra de vocabulario basada en las unidades que hemos trabajado en clase y es importante repasar éstas con tu nin@. También, incluimos actividades y canciones suplementarias al tema. Además, cada día debe preguntar a tu nin@: How do you feel? Cómo estás? o I feel Estoy What did you eat today? 3 June 2012 (Junio) Theme: Colors, Toys and Animals Tema: Colores, Juguetes, y Animales Activity: Have your child show you a crayon or any object around the house that is the same color as the new color word of the day. Actividad: Pide a tu niñ@ traerte un lápiz de colores o cualquier objeto en la casa que tiene el mismo color de la palabra del día en el calendario. Activity: Have your child draw pictures of animals and describe them to you. Example: It s a big, blue horse. Actividad: Deja al niñ@ dibujar animales y le dale una descripción. Actividad: Cada día, tu debe señalarse la parte del cuerpo correspondiente cuando dice la palabra del día. Activity: Play a game where your child has to follow your instructions and move their body.
