2 Dear St. Lucy Parishioners, My term as pastor of St. Lucy ends this week, and I want to express my deepest appreciation and gratitude to all of you for your encouragement and inspiration during the six years of my pastorate. It has been a pleasure and wonderful blessing to have served you and I pray that the St. Lucy Parish Community continues to grow ever more united and joyful in the Lord under the leadership of your new pastor, Fr. Mark Arnzen, who is a very blessed man to have been assigned to St. Lucy. On July 1 I will begin serving as chaplain at Presentation Retreat Center, Bear Creek Road, Los Gatos, CA I will take a six-month sabbatical from July 1 to December 29, You are all invited to an end-of-the year retreat that I will offer at Presentation Center, December (see flyer in today's bulletin). You are also invited to my ongoing series of Spirit Seekers Seminars that I will offer monthly at Presentation Center beginning Sunday, January 24, 2016, 1:30-3:30 pm. We invite children, specifically at the 9am and the 11am Masses to find COLORING SHEETS & CRAYONS available for use during Mass in the Vestibule. The Coloring sheets correlate to the Sunday s Gospel reading. We encourage parents of young children to utilize this time to focus on Jesus and his teachings, love, and lessons. Please return the crayons to their container after Mass. We are so glad that you invite your children into sacred time. Thank you! The catechesis of children, youth and adults has started registrations for the catechetical year. You can come to register your kids or yourself on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM to 6 PM in the parish office. Please come early as spaces for the groups are limited. We will be celebrating with two receptions after mass this Sunday: 10 am - 12 pm (in the PAC) and 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm (in the Annex & Gym) Help us Feed the Hungry St. Lucy SVDP - Outreach: 3rd Sunday Food Collection, June 20 21, 2015 The St. Lucy Conference of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul has a food pantry at the Outreach Office for those in our Parish that are in need of food. From October 2014 thru May 2015 we distributed 800 bags of food that fed 1300 adults & 700 children If you forget to bring your donation to Mass you may leave your food donation at the Outreach Office between 10 am and noon, Monday thru Friday. What goes into a food bag that is given to a family? Whole Meals*, (Canned Hearty Soups, Pasta Meals, Stews, Chilli, etc.), Pasta Sauce*, Pasta*, Fruit, Vegetables, Tuna Fish, Rice, Beans. When a family has children we add: Peanut Butter, Jelly, Macaroni and Cheese, Cereal * Most Needed this Month For the homeless we need cans with pop-tops. We also need of toiletries i.e. soap, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, razors, etc. for the clients who visit us. If you want to help with any of our programs call us at to volunteer or visit the Outreach Office between 10 am and noon, Monday thru Friday. Rotunda Scheduling System training, June 27th We began the roll-out of our new Rotunda scheduling system a few months ago and we'd like to invite you to a Rotunda training session. It will take place in the PAC on Saturday June 27th from 9am to 11am. The training session will give everyone who serves or volunteers on a regular basis the opportunity to learn how to use the scheduling system. It will also allow anyone who would like to volunteer for one-off or annual events to learn how to signup. We're looking forward to seeing you at the training session. 3 Queridos Feligreses de Santa Lucia, Mi puesto como pastor de Santa Lucia termina esta semana, y quiero expresar mi profundo agradecimiento y gratitud a todos ustedes por su estímulo e inspiración durante mis seis años como párroco de Santa Lucia.
