1 Querido parroquiano, Hace poco más de un año que llegué como párroco a esta parroquia. Desde el inicio me he esforzado por ser el párroco de todos, procurando servir a toda la comunidad y estando disponible para todos. Somos una comunidad bilingüe muy peculiar: unas 2,200 personas que atienden las misas en los fines de semana pertenecientes a muchas nacionalidades; casi 500 niños y jóvenes en los programas de catecismo; la escuela con 260 estudiantes; casi 600 participantes en los grupos de oración y formación; unos 200 jóvenes en grupos; diferentes espiritualidades: carismáticos, cursillistas, franciscanos de María, Regnum Christi, Legión de María; múltiples devociones y advocaciones marianas; programas asistenciales como nuestro Food Pantry que da alimentos a 240 familias cada semana. En este año pasado 186 niños, 14 jóvenes y 5 adultos fueron bautizados, 79 niños recibieron su primera comunión, 90 jóvenes y 7 adultos se confirmaron y hubo 49 matrimonios. A estos números habría que añadir las cientos de horas de confesiones, guía espiritual, visitas a enfermos, reuniones en la Arquidiócesis, la unión con la parroquia de San Denis Al cabo de un año todavía hay muchas cosas que no sé y debo aprender, pero sí he aprendido una cosa: la comunidad de San Pedro San Denis, es decir su gente, es decir Ud., son algo excepcional, viven su fe con generosidad y alegría, y yo estoy muy contento de ser su párroco. Dear parishioner, It has been a year since I arrived as a Pastor of this Parish. Since the very beginning I have been trying to be the Pastor of all of you, serving the whole community and being available to all. We are a very peculiar bilingual community: about 2,200 people attend Mass every week from many nationalities; around 500 kids and youth in the Religious Education Program; a School with 260 students; almost 600 people participate in our Small Groups; 200 in our youth groups; many spiritualities: charismatics, cursillo, Franciscans of Mary, Regnum Christi, Legion of Mary; multiple devotions and Marian devotions; a Food Pantry where we distribute 240 bags of food to local families every week. Last year 186 children, 14 youth and 5 adults were baptized. 79 Children received First Communion, 90 youth and 7 adults received Confirmation and 49 couples received the Sacrament of Matrimony. To those numbers we should add the hundreds of hours of Confessions, spiritual guide, visits to the sick, meetings in the Archdiocese, the merge with St. Denis parish A year has passed and there are things that I don t know and need to learn, but I do know something: St. Peter s St. Denis Community, the people, you, are extraordinary, live the faith with joy and generosity, and I am very happy to be your Pastor. This happened due to some extraordinary donations that we received from some parishioners that passed away, who left some funds to us in their wills. God bless them for their generosity. What have we done this year with the resources? In addition to the ordinary programs that I mentioned on the first page of my letter (Religious Education, Sacraments ), this year we did some long overdue cleaning and maintenance: renovation of the Food Pantry (we got a special donation for this) renovation of the meeting room in the Church renovation of the security system for the Church renovation of the main doors of the Church We built a stage in the choir loft to be able to accommodate more people painting of the gym painting and floor maintenance of the sacristy maintenance of the boilers maintenance of the roof and elevators in the School renovation of the office and meeting room in the rectory I think we all agree that after this year our Church is Also this year we did 89 videos for our campaigns for the Small Groups, for this we received funds from a Foundation. Finally we had our feast for St. Peter under the big tent in the parking lot. It was a big success, thanks to the help and collaboration of all. This is the report, now I need to ask your help. I have many projects in mind, but there are four that I think are critical: improve the sound system and lighting in the Church, install air conditioning in the Church, install new floor and padding in the gym. To do all this we need to raise $175,000 dollars. My goal is to raise $55,000 dollars from foundations, and we as parishioners need to raise $120,000 dollars. This means that we need to find 1000 people to give $120 dollars from now till the end of December, that equals $40 dollars a month for the next three months, or $10 dollars per week. Some could give more, others maybe less, but I am sure that we all will collaborate to benefit our Church. Can I count on you?

Esto se debió en parte a las donaciones extraordinarias que recibimos por algunos parroquianos que fallecieron y nos dejaron fondos en sus testamentos. Dios los bendiga por su generosidad. Qué hemos hecho este año con estos recursos? Además de los programas ordinarios que mencionaba en la carta en la primera página (catequesis, sacramentos ), en este año se hicieron trabajos de limpieza y mantenimiento que desde hace tiempo no se habían realizado: se renovó completamente el Food Pantry, para esto se consiguió un donativo especial. se renovó la sala de reuniones de la Iglesia se renovó el equipo de cámaras de seguridad de la Iglesia se renovaron las puertas de la Iglesia se colocó un estrado en el coro de la Iglesia para poder albergar más personas se pintó el gimnasio de la Iglesia se pintó y se dio mantenimiento al piso de la sacristía se dio mantenimiento a las calderas se hizo mantenimiento en los techos y elevador de la escuela se arregló la oficina de recepción de la rectoría y la sala de reuniones Creo que todos podemos reconocer que después de este año nuestra Iglesia está mejor mantenida y más limpia, gracias especialmente a los muchos voluntarios que han respondido a las peticiones de ayuda. RESULTADO 72,723 También este año se hicieron un total de 89 videos para las campañas de los grupos de oración y formación, para esto contamos con la ayuda de una fundación. Por último recordar nuestras fiestas por San Pedro que tuvimos en la gran Carpa en el estacionamiento, fueron una serie de eventos exitosos gracias a la colaboración de todos. Hasta aquí el reporte, ahora llega el momento de la petición. Hay muchos proyectos que tengo en mente, pero principalmente hay cuatro que veo importante llevar a cabo: mejorar el sistema de sonido de la Iglesia, mejorar la iluminación de la Iglesia e instalar aire acondicionado en la Iglesia, cambiar el piso del gimnasio y poner colchones en las paredes del gimnasio. Para esto necesitamos recaudar $175,000 dólares. Por mi parte me comprometo a conseguir $55,000 dólares con algunas fundaciones, pero nosotros como parroquianos necesitamos recaudar $120,000 dólares. Esto quiere decir que necesitamos encontrar 1000 personas que nos puedan dar 120 dólares desde ahora hasta el final de diciembre. Esto son 40 dólares por mes en los próximos tres meses, o unos 10 dólares por semana. Algunos podrán dar más, otros quizá menos, pero estoy seguro que todos cooperaremos para el beneficio de nuestra Iglesia. Puedo contar contigo?
