1 Colegio San Francisco Machalì Subject: English Grade: 8th Teacher: Inés Hidalgo Fuenzalida WORKSHEET (Second Semester) NAME: Date: / 2013 Learning Abilities: To apply a language structure. I.- COMPARATIVO En inglés existen 3 tipos de comparativo: INFERIORIDAD, IGUALDAD Y SUPERIORIDAD 1) COMPARATIVO DE INFERIORIDAD: Estructura: [less + than] / [not as...as] Ejemplo: He is less intelligent than you (El es menos inteligente que tu) Ejemplo: He is not as intelligent as you (El no es tan inteligente como tu) NOTA: Normalmente se utiliza less para incontables y fewer para los contables 2) COMPARATIVO DE IGUALDAD: Estructura: [as + as] Ejemplo: He is as intelligent as you (El es tan inteligente como tu) 3) COMPARATIVO DE SUPERIORIDAD El comparativo de superioridad tiene dos estructuras diferentes dependiendo de la longitud del adjetivo. ADJETIVOS CORTOS [-er + than] Ejemplo: He is taller than me (El es más alto que yo) ADJETIVOS LARGOS [more + than] Ejemplo: He is more intelligent than me (El es más inteligente que yo) SPECIAL SPELLING Pretty - Prettier (La "y" se sustituye por "i", y después se añade -er.
2 asking for permission MAY, CAN, COULD Could I borrow your pen? 3 for giving permission MAY, CAN You can use my phone. 4 for refusing permission, prohibition CAN'T, MAY NOT You may not talk in the exam 5 requests CAN, COULD Can you pass me the salt? 1 TYPE 3 You may leave now if you wish. 2 TYPE 5 Could you open the window a bit, please? 3 TYPE 1 Can you play the piano? 4 TYPE 4 Listen, please. Las estructuras how much y how many se usan para preguntar la cantidad de algo. Las reglas de uso son muy sencillas: Nombres contables / Nombres incontables Usaremos how many para sustantivos contables en plural Usaremos how much con los sustantivos incontables "How many newspapers do you read every day?" "How much paper is in the printer?" "How many Euros have you got?" "How much money have you got?" Además, también podemos utilizar How much para preguntar por el precio de algo: How much is this car? / Cuánto cuesta este coche? How much are these bananas? / Cuánto cuestan esas bananas? Completa las siguientes preguntas con How much o How many, según corresponda: salt do you take in your salad? glasses of milk do you have for breakfast? time have we got to clean the bedroom? milk do you want? eggs can you eat? knives and forks are there? money do you need? bottles of wine can you see?
If I go to Puerto Rico, I will go to Old San Juan. If it rains, I will stay home. Si llueve, me quedaré en casa. If I have a headache, I will take an aspirin. If I am better tomorrow, I will go to work. Si me siento mejor mañana, iré a trabajar. What will you do if it rains? Qué harás si llueve? What will you do if you have a headache? 1. If you (send) the letter today, it'll arrive tomorrow. 2. If you don't study, you (pass) the exam. 3. If it rains, we (stay) at home. 4. If it (be) sunny, we'll go to the beach. 5. If that shop (be) closed, we'll go to another one. 6. If you (want), we'll go to the park. 7. If Adam (arrive) late, his father will be upset. 8. If you work hard, you (get) a bonus. 9. If it isn't expensive, I (buy) two. 10. If you (call) me, I won't answer the phone
