1 Happy New Year GSA Families! January 6, 2016 Welcome back to all our GSA families! January has a lot in store for our school and our community! We will continue with Growth Plus and After-School All-Stars programs while our GSA Panthers will be in full swing with their basketball season. ACCESS and NWEA testing begins mid-month and so while it is always important to be at school every day, it is most important this month with all the testing occurring during the school day. We re doing a great job with our attendance. Thus far, we are at 98.12% year to date for our whole school with the sixth and first grades leading the way with 98.4% and 98.5% respectively. Let s help our students continue to grow and progress with healthy eating, good sleep, checking on your students on the Parent Portal and encouraging them to use IXL and Raz Kids with GSA s online resources from home! 2 PTO Movie Fundraiser Last month students and parents came to GSA in the evening and watched Pixar s Inside Out and ate delicious snacks celebrating the arrival of winter break. The evening was a success- the PTO raised money and GSA families enjoyed a night at the movies. Girls on the Run For our next season we are opening up the coaching positions to parents as well as educators. Girls On The Run is a program that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. 4 Feliz Año Nuevo Familias de GSA! 06 de enero del 2016 Bienvenido de nuevo a todas nuestras familias GSA! Tenemos muchos eventos importantes ocurriendo en el mes de Enero para nuestra escuela y nuestra comunidad! Vamos a continuar con el crecimiento Plus y programas después de la escuela (All-Stars), mientras que nuestros Panthers de GSA estarán en pleno apogeo con su temporada de baloncesto. Los exámenes de ACCESS y NWEA comienzan a mediados de este mes y es un muy importante de estar en la escuela todos los días, es aún más importante este mes ya que los exámenes ocurren durante el día escolar. Estamos haciendo un gran trabajo con nuestra asistencia. Hasta la fecha, estamos al 98,12% para toda nuestra escuela con los estudiantes de sexto y primer grados como líderes con 98,4% y 98,5% respectivamente. Ayudemos a nuestros estudiantes que sigan creciendo y progresando con una alimentación saludable, dormir bien, y revisando el Portal de Padres y animarlos a que utilicen los recursos en GSA en línea de IXL y Raz Kids en casa!! 5 Película para recaudar fondos de PTO El último mes los estudiantes y padres de familia estuvieron en GSA por la tarde y disfrutaron viendo la pelicula de Pixar, Inside Out y comieron deliciosos aperitivos para celebrar la llegada de las vacaciones de invierno. La noche fue un éxito- el PTO recaudó dinero y las familias de GSA disfrutaron de una noche en el cine. Girls on the Run Para nuestra próxima temporada estamos abriendo las posiciones de entrenamiento a padres como educadores. Girls On The Run es un programa que inspira a las niñas a ser alegre, sanas y seguras utilizando un divertido programa de estudios basado en la experiencia que integra creativamente correr.
