CATHOLIC RITA CATHOLIC CHURCH, DADE DADE CITY, FLORIDA April Message from Father Pete: Two weeks ago, at the Holy Saturday Easter Vigil, Father Dan baptized 12 adults and young people after they had completed their year-long RCIA course. Then 29 received their Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion. Next week several children will be baptized after completing their two year children s course of catechism (RCIC). In May they will receive their First Communion along with their Catechism Classmates. This is happening all across the United States. As you can see from the announcement below by the Catholic Bishops, thousands of adults and young people are being baptized or are joining the Catholic Church. Our thanks go to Sister Martha, Sister Norma and all our catechists in the RCIA and RCIC courses. Congratulations! UNITED STATES CONFERENCE OF CATHOLIC BISHOPS: WASHINGTON Thousands of people across the United States will be welcomed into the Catholic Church at this year s Easter vigil, April 4, including a retired Marine captain who appeared on the cover of National Geographic, a woman from The Gambia now living in the Pacific Northwest and a woman from Pittsburgh whose faith journey has drawn her own mother back to the Church. According to the 2014 Official Catholic Directory, there were 39,654 catechumens, or those being baptized, confirmed and receiving first Communion, and 66,831 candidates received into full Communion with the Catholic Church in the United States in 2013, the most recent year for which this data is available. Over 50 of the nearly 200 dioceses in the United States reported numbers for 2015 to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Note: These numbers only include 25% of the Dioceses in the USA. ---Father Pete

3 Page 3 Tercer Domingo de Pascua Mensaje del Padre Pedro: Hace dos semanas, en la Vigilia del Sábado de Gloria, Padre Daniel bautizó y dio los Sacramentos de la Confirmación y la Santa Comunión a muchos jóvenes y adultos. Todos ellos han cumplido sus cursos en los programas de catecismo para adultos. La semana que viene, varios niños serán bautizados después de completar su curso de catecismo para niños. En Mayo, estos mismos niños y muchos otros van a recibir su Primera Comunión el día 2 de Mayo. Muchos adolescentes van a recibir su sacramento de la Confirmación el día 16 de Mayo. Como dicen los Obispos del EEUU (en la nota abajo), miles y miles de personas están recibiendo sus Sacramentos de la Iniciación en este año---bautismo, Primera Comunión y Confirmación. Felicidades a la Hermana Martha,a la Hermana Norma y a todos los Guias de RCIA, de RCIC ---y a todos los Catequistas de la Educación Religiosa aquí en la Parroquia de Santa Rita. Felicidades a todos. VIGILIA PASCUAL ATRAE A MILES A LA IGLESIA CATÓLICA EN LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS WASHINGTON Miles de personas en los Estados Unidos recibirán la bienvenida a la Iglesia Católica durante la Vigilia Pascual, el 4 de abril, incluyendo un sargento de la Infantería de Marina quien apareció en la portada de National Geographic, una mujer de Gambia, y una mujer de Pittsburgh, cuyo trayecto de fe ha llevado a su propia madre de vuelta a la Iglesia.
