The Holy Cross Cursillo Movement will be serving Gorditas Plate the weekend of April 5 & 6 after all Masses. Plate includes: 2 Gorditas filled with Ground Beef & Potatoes or Chicken Fajita meat, Rice & Beans and Ice Tea or Coffee. Donation $6.00. All profits will go towards sponsoring new members and promote the Cursillo Movement. Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament / Exposición y Adoración al Santísimo Sacramento 7:30 P.M. - Midnight Fast and Abstinence / Ayuno y Abstinencia Abstinence from meat (beast or fowl) is to be observed by all Catholics fourteen years old and older on Ash Wednesday and on all Fridays of Lent. This obligation prohibits the eating of meat, but not eggs, milk products, or condiments of any kind, even though made from animal fat. Fasting means limiting oneself to one full meal on a given fast day. Catholics who are eighteen years of age but not yet fifty-nine are obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. On fast days, two additional smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength. However, the two smaller meals together may not be equal to one full meal. Moreover, eating solid foods between meals on fast day is not permitted. Come hear a presentation on the readiness skills and developmental skills necessary for success in kindergarten. Mrs. Danielle Belair, our wonderful kindergarten teacher, will present information to parents about the kindergarten program and curriculum at Holy Cross Catholic School. The presentation will stat at 2:15pm in St. Helen's Center. Light refreshments will be served and parents, grandparents and students will get a chance to tour the school, meet the school teachers and the office staff. WHO IS WHO AT HCCS? Danielle Belair, kindergarten teacher, brings a wealth of experiences to HCCS. Mrs. Belair received her bachelor of arts degree from the State University of ew York in Buffalo and her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She has taught all levels of students from Pre K through college level and her favorite grade is "kindergarten because the students so enjoy learning and each day is new and exciting." Mrs. Belair has taught for 7.5 years and welcomes visitors to her classroom at any time. Relay for Life Team Honor a loved one affected by cancer by purchasing and decorating a luminaria. For each $10 donation you make to the American Cancer Society you can dedicate a luminaria bag to remember loved ones lost to cancer or honor those battling the disease. Luminaria bags are illuminated after dark at every local Relay for Life event. Each luminaria is personalized with a name, photo, message or decoration. Members of the Holy Cross Relay for Life team will be outside the church entrance after all the masses the weekend of April 5 & 6 to accept your donations and help you decorate the luminaria. Golf League The Knights of Columbus Council #8493 Golf League scramble is now underway at Stewarts Peninsula Golf Course/The Santa Fe Neighborhood Grill in The Colony, Texas. The league plays for 14 weeks so join us Tuesday at 5:30pm. There is still plenty of great golf to be played. Proceeds from the league support the Council s scholarship fund for high school students attending higher education.
