Determines the thughts and feelings f the child abut the situatin, taking int accunt the child s age, maturity, culture and ethnicity and degree f attachment t family members, including siblings. Seeks slutins t achieve reslutin f prblems and t fster psitive steps tward achieving permanency. Appears at all hearings t advcate fr the child s best interest and prvide testimny when necessary. Makes recmmendatins fr specific, apprpriate services fr the child and the child s family and advcate fr necessary services which may nt be immediately available. Advcates fr the child s best interest in the cmmunity by bringing cncerns regarding the child s health, educatin and mental health, etc. t the apprpriate parties t assure that the child s needs in these areas are met. Is that cnstant significant adult that builds trust, supprt and friendship. Listens t the child's needs, learn mre abut the case and help yu lcate wh can give the child a happy and stable hme. This will include meeting with family members, teachers, fster parents, therapists, dctrs, etc. Prfessinally trained vlunteer advcates wh are appinted by the judge t make recmmendatins t the curt. As part f their wrk, CASA vlunteers present a reprt t the curt abut what they think is best fr the child r children. They may g t curt tw t three times during the case.
