2 2 FIRST TEXT Flamenco El Flamenco Glosas: gitano Integrar Incorporar Corazón means gipsy means to integrate means to include means heart La palabra flamenco se suele identificar con las guitarras y una bailadora con vestido impresionante. Ciertamente el baile, el cante y la guitarra son las partes más espectaculares de este arte, pero hay algo más que lo hace especial. Eso es el sentimiento. El flamenco ha sido parte de la cultura de Andalucia en el sur de España durante siglos. Muchos dicen que sus orígenes se deben al pueblo gitano, que llegó a esta región de España desde la India en el siglo XV. Los gitanos integraron la música de las diferentes culturas de Andalucía con su música y así nació el arte flamenco. El flamenco, entonces, es un modo de vida y la expresión de un pueblo. Ahora, el flamenco se conoce en todo el to- see- and- do/flamenco/ mundo. La popularidad se ha extendido a Latino América y aún a Japón, donde hay más academias de flamenco que en Andalucía. También, desde hace unos años, sigue cambiando, con muchos artistas empleando ritmos de salsa, jazz, blues o pop para formar una fusión musical, con resultados excelentes. Una de las estrellas del flamenco pop, Rosario Flores utiliza elementos de jazz, rock, soul y música latina, pero su esencia es gitana. Ella dice Mis orígenes son superimportantes. Si tengo energía y ritmo en el cuerpo es por mi familia. Pero mi búsqueda está entre el ritmo gitano y el ritmo africano. Otro grupo bien conocido es Ojos de Brujo, un grupo de Barcelona que incorpora elementos de hip hop con flamenco. Dicen que La magia está en el flamenco. Forma el corazón de nuestra música. Pero nuestra música es más experimental. Si quieres escuchar cómo es el flamenco pop, trata de encontrar un disco de Rosario, o de Ketama, Kiko Veneno, Pata Negra u Ojos de Brujo. Seguro que te va a gustar.

4 4 SECOND TEXT The future of books and movies El futuro de los libros y las películas Glosas: compartir maens to share Imprenta means printer descargar means to download mejorar means to improve degradar means to break down interactuar means to interact En un mundo de ordenadores portátiles y personales, los teléfonos inteligentes y los libros y las películas digitales qué va a pasar con los libros y cines tradicionales? Mientras la gente ha escrito sus ideas y cuentos desde hace siglos, la forma del libro y de leer ha cambiado mucho. Libros y textos eran leidos en voz alta, ya que leer en silencio no era normal hasta el siglo diez. De este modo, leer cambió de experiencia compartida a experiencia privada. La forma del libro cambió definitivamente con la primera imprenta de Gutenberg en mil cuatrocientos cincuenta y de nuevo con la publicación de la primera novela, Don Quijote de la Mancha, en mil seiscientos cinco. Así el libro dejaba de ser sagrado. El cambio más profundo fue en los años 90 del siglo pasado con la transformación del texto a códigos digitales e imágenes para la pantalla del ordenador. El hipertexto e internet mejoraron el acceso a la información mientras, los costes de producción y de difusión bajaron, como hizo la imprenta en su día. Por último, en el dos mil seis, se inventó el lector de libros electrónicos como Kindle o ipad. Mucha gente dice que el libro impreso va a desaparecer, pero otros opinan que no. Algunos dicen que prefieren leer en papel y aunque los libros se degradan con el tiempo, no necesitas batería nunca. Puede ser más conveniente descargar un libro de internet, pero a mucha gente todavía le gusta visitar la biblioteca o una librería. Por otro lado, los lectores electrónicos pueden buscar significados de palabras fácilmente, marcar pasajes importantes y tener muchos libros en poco espacio. Todavía no está claro como vamos a interactuar en el futuro con los objetos que hemos llamado libros. Con los libros electrónicos de hoy en día podemos tener más perspectivas, conectar con otros lectores o interactuar con los cuentos de manera que todavía no podemos imaginar. Como con los libros, también ha habido grandes cambios con el cine. Desde la primera película en París en mil ochocientos noventa y cinco, ir al cine simpre era algo especial, pero con los avances de la tecnología en los últimos años, llegó a ser más barato y cómodo ver las películas en casa que en el cine. Cada vez iba menos gente a las salas de cine. Pero en el dos mil nueve la película Avatar en 3D cambió la situación. Ahora muchas películas se hacen en 3D. Con una pantalla grande y mejor sonido, estas películas han transformado la experiencia de ir al cine. Cuánto va a ayudar la nueva tecnología al cine? No se puede decir, pero estos cambios sí están transformando nuestras vidas.

Reader is able to mark passages and look for word meanings easily. Disadvantages for books are needing batteries and access to Internet to download. Movie experience now worthwhile with better sound and bigger screen to see 3D. Technology is making books and movies more interactive, more personal, but also easier to share. 3D movies are getting people back in cinemas, instead of staying at home watching movies, reversing the tendency to consume movies independently and possibly keeping cinemas alive In the future, people may be able to interact with stories, collate and connect a range of perspectives on screen and connect to other readers while reading.
