We don t have a specific office dedicated to the fishing policy, but he Fishing Department has a website where the operating programme is identified with its main working lines. They ara integrated in the Regional Plan of Development actually updated. 7 - Do you have a fishing consultation structure with maritime activities representant? We have a Fishing Council where representatives of Public Organisms are included. They work in other areas related with the maritime means.(coast, ports, biodiversity, merchant navy, etc ) - Do you have a regular consultation event on fishing theme or a regular publication for professional or public? The Fishing Council meets for consulting whenever the matter is important and requiered. The decision of announcing tis meeting is made by the Minister of Agriculture and Water. In the spanish State Structure we have a Commission of the Fishing Sector commposed of the State Fishing Minister and all the Fishing Councillers of the Autonomous Regions. The Region of Murcia, towards the Committee of the Regions. Inside this Committee we have the Fishing Council that represents us at European Level. In 2009 the lecture about the reform of the Community Fishing Policy was made by the President of the Autonomous Region of Murcia : Mr. Ramón Luis Valcárcel Siso. The Regional Ministry of Agriculture and Water keeps up research agreements with the Public Universities of the Region, as well as technical support with private companies for fishing monitoring. 11 THEMATIC ISSUES; GOVERNANCE OF Water Framework Directive (WFD) FOR COASTAL AND PORT WATERS Internal Governance and budget - Do you have a political delegate specially dedicated to WFD policy? - Do you have an official WFD policy identified with a publishable document in a website? Yes, the information about the implementation of the Water Framework Agreement for the coastal water of the Murcia Region available at the website : Medio Acuatico. - What is your office dedicated to WFD policy, Security Service and Environmental Inspection, Department of Aquatic habitat from the General Department of Planning, Evaluation and Environmental Control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water from the Murcia Region. The database, as well as the maps that show the coastal water volume at the website: Medio Acuatico. The Segura Hidrographical Confederation has a GIS : Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura - Do you have a WFD consultation structure with maritime activities representant?, but there is a Committee of Relevant Authorities made up in 2008, depending of the State Management

12 Working groups: o Protection of the water quality (coordinated by the Water Inspection) o Hydrological planification(coordinated by the OPH)- Subgroups: Information systems Supply Agriculture Shallow and coastal water Duties (art. 7 del RD 126/2007): a) Favour the cooperation in the practise of the competitions related to the water protection hold by the different Civil Service in the bosom of the respective hidrographical district. b) Impulse the Civil Service to take the adecuate measures demanded by the fulfilment of the protection rules of the adapted text of the Water Law. c) Provide the European Union, through the relevant Organisms of the Government s Civil Service, according to the current rules, with the information related to the respective hidrographical district. - Do you have a regular consultation event on WFD theme or a regular publication for professional or public?, but the Committee of Relevant Authorities has two meetings per year. Yes, we have a close collaboration and a data exchange with the Ministry of Environment, Rural and Sea, with the purpose of development of the Hydrological Plan of the Segura basin, so you can fulfil the Article 13 of the Water Framework Agreement. Yes, there is a data exchange to contribute to the process of intercalibration of the proposed methods by the different member countries for the establishment of the ecological state coastal waters. This process of intercalibration is coordinated and supervised by the European Commission (through the Joint Research Center). These proyects have been carried out by the University of Murcia and the Technical University of Cartagena. What s more, the company TRAGSA is carrying out the scientific and technical assistance for the implementation of the board of directors in our coastal waters. There is the Oceanographic System of the Murcia Region that deals with fishing themes, with details about currents, water quality, temperatures, etc. Datos Oceanográficos.
