90 3. Production Engineering (6P, 14T) The process systems and equipments used in our production operations are largely the result of the efforts of this branch. This is a close support group which combines the multi-disciplined engineering staff with a shop which specializes in the prototyping, construction,
91 half lives less than 24 hours, this distance, requiring two to three hours road transport, does not cause a serious delay. Since on-site handling would be required in any case, off-site handling in approved bulk containers on company vehicles adds little to the cost. Finally, and most important, Ottawa is the closest major airport to Chalk River and most of the on-going shipments after processing are sent by air throughout Canada, the U.S. and overseas. ISOTOPE PROCESSING AND HANDLING FACILITIES Our processes and equipment have evolved over a period of 10 to 15 years. Generally speaking chis evolution
