2 2009-present Director, New World Archaeological Foundation EXCAVATION EXPERIENCE 1967 Pickett Fork, San Juan County, Utah: Participated in the excavation of several Pueblo II-III (Anasazi) surface structures as well as an adjacent rock shelter Xcalumkin, (Holactun), Campeche, Mexico: Carried out test excavations and architectural studies at the site on behalf of the New world Archaeological foundation Montezuma Canyon, San Juan County, Utah: Participated in the excavation of a Pueblo I village site and a Pueblo II architectural unit (Anasazi) , Edzna, Campeche, Mexico: Spent two years as the 1974 ceramicist for the BYU- NWAF Edzna Project which was concerned with problems of water use and management at the site. This included a program of test excavations throughout the site as well as small structure survey and excavation on the peripheries of the site Midland, Midland County, Texas: Co-directed excavation of a campsite pertaining to the eastern focus of the Jornada Branch of the Mogollon culture. This research, carried out conjointly with Dr. G. Bronitsky of the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, was designed to provide information on the patterns of trade between eastern New Mexico and west Texas Recapture Wash, San Juan County, Utah: Director of instruction for the excavation of a large Basketmaker III site as part of a CRM salvage project. 1983, 1984 Smoking Pipe Site, Utah County, Utah: Directed 1987 excavation of Fremont site within boundaries of Provo, Utah. The project is directed toward the delineation of the subsistence strategies of the Fremont in the area around Utah Lake and along the river channels that empty into it Heron Springs Site, Utah County, Utah: Co-directed investigations at a Late Prehistoric (post-fremont) site on the northern shore of Utah Lake. The Late Prehistoric period is poorly known in Utah, and the excavations are directed at recovering basic archeological data concerning this period. 1990, 1993 Nakbé, Guatemala: Carried out excavations in a major Late Preclassic architectural context at this early Maya site Nakbé, Guatemala: Carried out excavations in a major Middle Preclassic architectural context.
