Description The Masterpact NTMPRRT and NWMPRRT Remote Racking Devices are intended to allow remote insertion and removal of a Masterpact NT or NW circuit breaker from its chassis, and racking between the disconnected position and the connected position. Operation can be performed from outside the arc flash zone as described by NFPA 70E/CSA Z462. Tools Required Drill, 3/32 in. bit Torx T10 Power Supply Requirements 50/60 Hz Input Voltage: 120/240 Vac Maximum current draw: 0.5 A at 120 Vac Safety Precautions DANGER HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION OR ARC FLASH Apply appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe electrical work practices. Stop Release Button Window NOTE: Bracket can be installed with circuit breaker in any position (disconnected to connected) or status (open or closed). After installation, the mounting bracket is intended to remain permanently attached to the cradle. 1. Insert the alignment pin (A) in the racking slot (B). Pull out the racking handle (C) approximately 1 in. (25 mm). 2. Place the mounting bracket (D) on the face of the cradle. Bracket tangs (E) fit over edges of cradle face. NOTE: Use caution in the following steps when drilling holes as parts of the cradle surface are concave. Drill holes less than 1 in. (25 mm) deep. 3. Using the mounting bracket as a template, drill the top left hole (F). Install the top left hole screw (G) and torque to 5 ± 1 lb-in. (0.6 ± 0.1 N m). 4. Remove the alignment pin (H) and retain for future use. 5. Drill the bottom right hole and install the bottom right hole screw (I). Repeat for the remaining four holes. 6. While pressing the red open button (A) of the circuit breaker, install NT drive shaft (B) into racking slot (C). Press in until flush to mounting bracket (D). Spring will extend the drive shaft slightly when released. (Install by hand or use the Drive Installation Tool.) Figure 4: A NT Drive Shaft Installation D B C 2. Connect the drive unit to the cradle: Figure 5: NT Drive Unit Connection Insert the support arm (E) into the support arm nest (F) located in the middle of the bracket. Confirm that the drive shaft (G) is in alignment with the drive unit (H) and the push button bushing aligns with the stop release push button window. F E G H 3. Connect the power cord (M) to the drive unit and to a 120/240 Vac power source. 4. Connect the control cable (N) between the drive unit and the control unit. (Be sure to connect both ends). 5. Turn on the power switch (O) located on the bottom of the unit. The Power ON LED (P) on the drive unit should be illuminated. Turn OFF the power switch (B) located on the drive unit. The Power ON LED (C) on the drive unit will slowly go out. Figure 7: A Powering Off the NT Remote Racking Device B C ENGLISH 3. Disconnect the control unit cable (D), and the power cable (E). D E Removing the NT Remote Racking Device from the Cradle 1. To remove the Remote Racking Device from the cradle: Verify the unit is powered off. Push the release lever (F) and rotate the drive unit (G) forward as shown in Figure Remove the drive shaft (H) from the cradle. The circuit breaker is now ready for testing, powering up or removal; depending on the last operation of the remote racking device. Follow safe work practices per NFPA 70E when working on the equipment. NOTE: The mounting bracket remains attached to the cradle for any future operations with the Remote Racking Device. Install the drive unit (H) onto the mounting bracket attached to the cradle, making sure the push button bushing (I) aligns with the stop release push button window. Push and rotate the locking handle (J) 90 clockwise G H F 90 I J 4. Connect the power cord (K) to the drive unit and to a 120/240 Vac power source. 5. Connect the control cable (L) between the drive unit and the control unit (M) (be sure to connect both ends). 6. Turn on the power switch (N) located on the drive unit. The Power ON LED on the drive unit should be illuminated. To remove the Remote Racking Device from the cradle: Verify that the unit is powered off. Unlock the locking handle (F) by pushing in and rotating the handle 90 counterclockwise. Pull the Remote Racking Device (G) away from the cradle, disengaging the locating pin (H). 2. Remove the drive shaft (I) from the cradle. 3. Replace the racking handle (J) in the cradle, if previously removed. The circuit breaker is now ready for testing, powering up or removal; depending on the last operation of the remote racking device. 9 S1A60803 NTMPRRT/NWMPRRT Masterpact NT and NW Remote Racking Devices Operation of the Remote Racking System For information on circuit breaker operation and racking details, see the bulletin shipped with the circuit breaker. NOTE: The Remote Racking Device will NOT prevent the operator from racking circuit breakers past the connected or disconnected positions. Racking a circuit breaker past the connected or disconnected position could cause damage to the circuit breaker cradle or racking device. DO NOT rack circuit breakers past the connected or disconnected positions. NOTE: The drive mechanism is equipped with an Over Torque feature. If the drive mechanism exceeds the torque limit, the drive mechanism will go into overtorque mode. This disengages the drive motor from the cradle mechanism and the Overtorque Reset button will light on the control unit. When the Overtorque Reset button is lit, the motor will automatically stop. Remove drive unit from the cradle mounting bracket and press the Overtorque Reset button. Clear the cause of the overtorque before reinstalling the drive unit. DANGER HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION OR ARC FLASH Apply appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe electrical work practices. See NFPA 70E/CSA Z462. This equipment must be installed and serviced only by qualified electrical personnel. Confirm all personnel, including operator, are a safe distance from the equipment per the NFPA 70E/CSA Z462 guidelines for the specific energy level of the equipment. Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury. ENGLISH Perform remote racking using the remote racking control unit. 1. Confirm all personnel (including yourself) are a safe distance from the equipment. Follow NFPA 70E/CSA Z462 guidelines for safe distance per the specific energy level. 2. Press the I/O button to power up the control unit (the I/O button will turn RED when power is ON). 3. Press the LED Check button to verify that all the LEDs are working. NOTE: Before performing any operation, use the status window on the front of the circuit breaker to check the position of the circuit breaker in the cradle. Rotate selector switch to the right so it points to the diagram with the arrows going up. 2. Press the green Stop Release button, (the button stays lit until the TEST position is reached). 3. Press and hold the black Operate Motor button until the circuit breaker moves to the TEST position. The motor will stop if the Operate Motor button is released. The Insert Circuit Breaker LED stays lit, indicating motor movement, until the circuit breaker reaches the TEST position (approximately 20 seconds). When the circuit breaker reaches the TEST position, the green Insert Circuit Breaker LED and the green Stop Release button will no longer be lit. NOTE: The drive unit and the control box are not intended to be repaired. If any damage is noticed (other than fuses) on the drive unit or control box, please contact the manufacturer. Pressing Overtorque Reset button. 5. Replace remote racking device on cradle. Abertura para el botón de paro y liberación NOTA: El soporte puede ser instalado con el interruptor de potencia en cualquier posición (desconectado a conectado) o estado (abierto o cerrado). Después de la instalación, el soporte de montaje deberá permanecer permanentemente instalado en la cuna. 1. Inserte la espiga de alineación (A) en la ranura de inserción/extracción (B). Jale la palanca de inserción/extracción (C) aproximadamente 25 mm (1 pulg) hacia fuera. 2. Coloque el soporte de montaje (D) en la parte frontal de la cuna. Las lengüetas (E) del soporte encajan bien en los bordes de la parte frontal de la cuna. NOTA: Proceda con precaución al realizar los siguientes pasos mientras perfora los agujeros ya que partes de la superficie de la cuna tienen forma cóncava. Perfore los agujeros a una profundidad menor que 25 mm (1 pulg). 3. Utilizando el soporte de montaje como plantilla, perfore el agujero superior izquierdo (F). Instale el tornillo del agujero superior izquierdo (G) y apriételo en 0,6± 0,1 N m (5 ± 1 lbs-pulg). 4. Retire la espiga de alineación (H) y consérvela para su uso posterior. 5. Perfore el agujero derecho inferior e instale el tornillo (I) en el agujero. Repita este procedimiento para los cuatro agujeros restantes. 6. Mientras oprime el botón de apertura (A) rojo del interruptor de potencia, instale el eje de accionamiento NT (B) en la ranura de inserción/extracción (C). Presione hasta encajar a ras con el soporte de montaje (D). El resorte alargará ligeramente el eje de accionamiento al soltarlo. (instálelo con la mano, o bien, emplee la herramienta). Conecte la unidad de accionamiento en la cuna: Inserte el brazo de soporte (E) en su parte de apoyo (F) situada en la parte intermedia del soporte. Confirme que el eje de accionamiento (G) se encuentre alineado con la unidad de accionamiento (H) y el cojinete del botón pulsador se alinee con la abertura para el botón de paro y liberación. Conecte el cable de control (N) entre la unidad de accionamiento y la unidad de control (asegúrese de conectar ambos extremos). 5. Desenergice el interruptor de la alimentación (O), situado en la parte inferior de la unidad. El LED de energización I/ON (P) en la unidad de accionamiento deberá iluminarse. Desenergice el interruptor I/O en la unidad de control (A). 2. Desenergice el interruptor de la alimentación (B) situado en la unidad de accionamiento. Para desmontar el dispositivo de inserción/extracción remota de la cuna: Asegúrese de que la unidad esté desenergizada. Empuje la palanca de disparo (F) y gire la unidad de accionamiento (G) hacia delante como se muestra en la Figure Desmonte el eje de accionamiento (H) de la cuna. Inserte la espiga de alineación (A) en la ranura de inserción/extracción (B). Jale la palanca de inserción/extracción (C) aproximadamente 25 mm (1 pulg) hacia fuera. 2. Coloque el soporte de montaje (D) en la parte frontal de la cuna. Las lengüetas (E) del soporte encajan bien en los bordes de la parte frontal de la cuna. NOTA: Proceda con precaución al realizar los siguientes pasos mientras perfora los agujeros ya que partes de la superficie de la cuna tienen forma cóncava. Perfore los agujeros a una profundidad menor que 25 mm (1 pulg). 3. Utilizando el soporte de montaje como plantilla, perfore el agujero superior izquierdo (F). Instale el tornillo del agujero superior izquierdo (G) y apriételo en 0,6± 0,1 N m (5 ± 1 lbs-pulg). 4. Retire la espiga de alineación (H) y consérvela para su uso posterior. 5. Perfore el agujero derecho inferior e instale el tornillo (I) en el agujero. Repita este procedimiento para los cuatro agujeros restantes. 6. Conecte el cable de alimentación (K) a la unidad de accionamiento y a una fuente de alimentación de 120/240 V~. 5. Conecte el cable de control (L) entre la unidad de accionamiento y la unidad de control (M) (asegúrese de conectar ambos extremos). 6. Coloque el interruptor de la alimentación (N), situado en la unidad de accionamiento, en la posición de cerrado (I/ON). El LED de energización I/ON en la unidad de accionamiento deberá iluminarse. Desbloquee la palanca de bloqueo (F) empujándola hacia dentro y girándola 90 en sentido contrario a las manecillas del reloj. Jale el dispositivo de inserción/extracción remota (G) alejándolo de la cuna y desenganchando la espiga de ubicación (H). 2. Desmonte el eje de accionamiento (I) de la cuna. 3. Vuelva a colocar la palanca de inserción/extracción (J) en la cuna, si fue retirada anteriormente. NOTA: El dispositivo de inserción/extracción remota NO evitará que se inserte/extraiga el interruptor de potencia más allá de las posiciones de conectado o desconectado. Si se inserta o extrae un interruptor de potencia más allá de la posición de conectado o desconectado podría causar daño a la cuna del interruptor o dispositivo de inserción/extracción. NO inserte o extraiga los interruptores de potencia más allá de la posición de conectado o desconectado. NOTA: El mecanismo de accionamiento viene equipado con una función de Par excesivo. Si el mecanismo de accionamiento excede el límite de par, éste pasará al modo de par excesivo. Esto desengancha el motor de accionamiento del mecanismo de la cuna y el botón de Restablecimiento debido a par excesivo se iluminará en la unidad de control. Cuando se ilumina el botón de Restablecimiento debido a par excesivo, el motor se parará automáticamente. Retire la unidad de accionamiento del soporte de montaje de la cuna y presione el botón de Restablecimiento debido a par excesivo. Corrija la causa del par excesivo antes de volver a instalar la unidad de accionamiento. Asegúrese de que todo el personal (incluyendo usted mismo) se encuentre a una distancia segura del equipo. Siga los procedimientos delineados en la norma 70E de NFPA. Z462 de CSA y NOM-029-STPS para situarse en una distancia segura correspondiente al nivel de energía específico. 2. Oprima el botón I/O para energizar la unidad de control (el botón se iluminará en ROJO cuando el equipo está energizado I/ON ). 3. Oprima el botón de Comprobación de los LED para asegurarse de que todos los LED estén funcionando. Description Les dispositifs d embrochage à distance NTMPRRT et NWMPRRT sont destinés à permettre l insertion et le retrait à distance d un disjoncteur Masterpact NT ou NW de son berceau, et l'embrochage entre la position déconnectée et la position connectée. La manœuvre peut s effectuer depuis l extérieur de la zone d éclair d arc comme décrit par la norme NFPA 70E/CSA Z462. Ouverture du bouton d arrêtdégagement REMARQUE : Le support peut être installé avec le disjoncteur dans n importe quelle position (de déconnectée à connectée) ou n importe quel état (ouvert ou fermé). Après l installation, le support de montage est destiné à rester définitivement attaché au berceau. 1. Insérer l ergot d alignement (A) dans la fente d embrochage (B). Tirer la manette d embrochage (C) sur environ 25 mm (1 po). 2. Placer le support de montage (D) sur la face avant du berceau. Les tenons (E) du support s encastrent sur les bords de la face avant du berceau. REMARQUE : Prendre des précautions au cours des points suivants, lors du perçage des trous du fait que des pièces de la surface du berceau sont concaves. Percer les trous à une profondeur inférieure à 25 mm (1 po). 3. En utilisant le support de montage comme gabarit, percer le trou supérieur gauche (F). Installer la vis (G) dans le trou supérieur gauche et la serrer au couple de 0,6 ± 0,1 N m (5 ± 1 lb-po). 4. Retirer l ergot d'alignement (H) et le mettre de côté pour un usage ultérieur. 5. Percer le trou inférieur droit et installer la vis (I) dans le trou. Répéter cette procédure pour les quatre autres trous. 6. Tout en appuyant sur le bouton d ouverture (A) rouge du disjoncteur, installer l arbre d entraînement NT (B) dans la fente d embrochage (C). Enfoncer jusqu à ce qu elle soit alignée avec le support de montage (D). Le ressort tendra l arbre d entraînement légèrement lorsqu il sera relâché. Raccorder l unité d entraînement au berceau : Figure 5 : Raccordement de l'unité d'entraînement NT FRANÇAIS Insérer le bras du support (E) dans le logement (F) du support situé au milieu du support. S'assurer que l'arbre d'entraînement (G) est aligné avec l'unité d'entraînement (H) et que le manchon du bouton-poussoir s aligne avec l ouverture du bouton-poussoir d arrêt-dégagement. H F G E 3. Raccorder le cordon d alimentation (M) à l unité d entraînement et à une source d alimentation de 120/240 Vca. 4. Raccorder le câble de contrôle (N) entre l unité d entraînement et l unité de contrôle (s assurer de raccorder les deux extrémités). 5. Mettre l interrupteur d alimentation (O),situé sur la partie inférieure de l unité, en position de marche (I). Le voyant DÉL d indication de marche (ON) (P) sur l unité d entraînement devrait être allumé. Mettre l interrupteur I/O hors tension sur l unité de contrôle (A). 2. Mettre l interrupteur d alimentation (B), situé sur l unité d entraînement, en position d arrêt (O). Pousser le levier de libération (F) et faire pivoter l'unité d entraînement (G) en avant comme indiqué à la Figure Retirer l arbre d entraînement (H) du berceau. Le disjoncteur est maintenant prêt pour un essai, une mise sous tension ou un retrait, selon la dernière utilisation du dispositif d embrochage à distance. Observer les méthodes de travail sécuritaire selon NFPA 70E lors d un travail sur l appareil.
