3 RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS The Religious Education Program will be open from 9:30AM to 2:30PM and Monday through Wednesday nights from 6PM to 8:30PM. Please call for more information. There was a retreat for Kindergarten to first graders who this Saturday, April 25 th. There was a flier given to the students last week in class. Every retreat is a special time to build community and faith in our children. Thank you to all the parents who brought in healthy snacks for the children. It is important to try to instill healthy habits at a young age. Thank you especially to Mrs. Andrea Fermin who has helped us throughout the year in coordinating healthy snacks for all of our retreats. Registration for next year has started. Please make sure to go to our religious education office for more information. The year will soon be coming to an end. Please make sure all sacramental forms, baptismal certificates and fees are taken care of before next year. We really do appreciate your cooperation. Your cooperation helps the parish program run smoother and more efficiently. Please continue praying for our students. ST. 4 MERGER: ST. PETER CHURCH AND ST. MARY CHURCH Last Sunday parishioners from St. Peter s Church and St. Mary s Church shared some of the life and memories of our parishes. All enjoyed a 13 minute video of photographs of the life of both parishes. George Wargo and Tony Bosico from St. Peter s Parish and Bill Kohut from St. Mary s Parish talked about some of their experiences of parish life. Barbara Bodnar and Mary Sheeley arranged displays of pictures, scrapbooks and other memorabilia around the school gym. We plan to continue sharing the life of our parishes at our combined parish picnic next month. Future events: Mass in St. Peter s Cemetery on May 25 th at 12 Noon; the Corpus Christi procession on June 7 th ; the parish picnic on June 14 th. The closing Mass at St. Mary s Church will be offered during the day on Saturday, August 15 th. The first Mass in our newlymerged parish will be offered in the evening of the same day, August 15 th. The committee planning for these Masses began meeting this past week. Please pray for peace for all of those for whom this merger is difficult and sorrowful. Please pray that God brings forth new and renewed life to our newlyforming parish. UNION DE LAS PARRQUIAS: SAN PEDRO Y SANTA MARIA El domingo pasado feligreses de la Iglesia San Pedro y de la Iglesia Santa María compartieron algo de las memorias de sus parroquias. Todos disfrutaron de un video de fotos de 13 minutos sobre la vida de ambas parroquias. George Wargo y Tony Bosico, de la Parroquia San Pedro, y Bill Kohut de la Parroquia Santa María hablaron sobre sus experiencias en la vida parroquial. Barbara Bodnar y Mary Sheeley prepararon, alrededor del gimnasio, exhibiciones de fotos y libros y otros detalles memorables. La primera Misa en nuestra parroquia unida será ofrecida en la noche de ese mismo día, 15 de Agosto. El comité planeador de estas Misas ya comenzó a reunirse la semana pasada. Pedimos que oremos por la paz para todos aquellos a quienes esta unión de las parroquias se les hace difícil y dolorosa. MOTHER S DAY NOVENA Our annual Mother s Day Novena begins in two weeks on Sunday, May 10th. Deceased and living mothers may be enrolled in this novena. Novena envelopes are in the boxed sets that our registered parishioners receive. Extra envelopes for those who need them are on the shelves by the front center doors of the church.
