3 RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS The Religious Education Program will be open from 9:30AM to 1:00PM Monday thru Wednesday during the summer. We will open Monday nights again in the second week of August. Please call for more information. The office will be closed July 13 th thru the 24 th. Lastly, we are in need of four, volunteers to help us teach a 7 th grade class. It would be ideal to have two teachers in a class. Please pray about it, talk to those who teach religion class. It is such a wonderful experience to be able to share and witness your faith to the future of our church. Please call for more information. Please register before September so that we may prepare for the number of classes and teachers needed for this coming year. Please continue praying for our students. What is the RCIA Program? This is a program for adults (18 and older) who have not received any, or all of these sacraments; Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation. For information contact Deacon Gene at PASTORAL COUNCIL Our parish Pastoral Council is planning to add new members to the Council to begin after the summer in September. The Pastoral Council works for the ongoing development of the ministries in our parish. New members will join with our current council when it meets for its annual year-end review and planning for the future. Service on the council includes a monthly meeting from September through June and a few hours of committee work between the regular meetings each month. If you would like to serve on the Council, please speak with Fr. Madden. MASS WITH COMMUNAL ANOINTING OF THE SICK On Saturday, September 19 th, at 10AM in the school gym we will celebrate the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick during Mass. This will take place in English. PROGRAMA DE EDUCACION RELIGIOSA El Programa de Catecismo estará abierto los lunes a miércoles de 9:30AM hasta las 1:00PM, los lunes hasta miércoles durante el verano. Para más información contacte al Diacono Gene at CONCILIO PASTORAL Nuestro Concilio Pastoral está planeando agregar nuevos miembros para después del verano, en el mes de Septiembre. El Concilio Pastoral trabaja por el continuo desarrollo de los ministerios de la parroquia. Los nuevos miembros se reunirán con los miembros actuales cuando el concilio se reúna en su reunión evaluativa y de planeamiento de sus acciones futuras. Los servicios en el concilio incluyen una reunión mensual, entre Septiembre y Junio y varias horas de trabajo de los comités entre una y otra reunión mensual. Si le gustase servir en el concilio, favor de hablar con el Padre Madden. MISA CON UNCIÓN DE LOS ENFERMOS COMUNAL El sábado 19 de septiembre, a las 10AM en el gimnasio de la escuela, vamos a celebrar el Sacramento de la Unción de los Enfermos durante la Misa. Esta Misa será en Ingles.

4 GOD S MERCY FOR THE POOR AND OUTCAST Pope Francis is proclaiming a Holy Year of God s Mercy that will begin on Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, 2015 and close on the Feast of Christ the King, November 20, Francis said in his proclamation: In this Holy Year, we look forward to the experience of opening our hearts to those living on the outermost fringes of society: fringes which modern society itself creates. How many uncertain and painful situations there are in the world today! How many are the wounds borne by the flesh of those who have no voice because their cry is muffled and drowned out by the indifference of the rich! During this Jubilee, the Church will be called even more to heal these wounds, to assuage them with the oil of consolation, to bind them with mercy and cure them with solidarity and vigilant care. Let us not fall into humiliating indifference or a monotonous routine that prevents us from discovering what is new! Let us ward off destructive cynicism! Let us open our eyes and see the misery of the world, the wounds of our brothers and sisters who are denied their dignity, and let us recognize that we are compelled to heed their cry for help! May we reach out to them and support them so they can feel the warmth of our presence, our friendship, and our fraternity! No caigamos en la indiferencia que humilla, en la habitualidad que anestesia el ánimo e impide descubrir la novedad, en el cinismo que destruye. Abramos nuestros ojos para mirar las miserias del mundo, las heridas de tantos hermanos y hermanas privados de la dignidad, y sintámonos provocados a escuchar su grito de auxilio. Nuestras manos estrechen sus manos, y acerquémoslos a nosotros para que sientan el calor de nuestra presencia, de nuestra amistad y de la fraternidad. Que su grito se vuelva el nuestro y juntos podamos romper la barrera de la indiferencia que suele reinar campante para esconder la hipocresía y el egoísmo.
