19 BETHEL NEWS & EVENTS Gesture as Language" New works by Christian Andrew Grooms Christian Andrew Grooms newest art works, dedicated to Bethel s homeless ministry, to the homeless, to his mother, and to all who face the challenges of finding their way in their journey, will be on display in the Fireside Gallery during Lent. This new series looks at the universality of human gesture, posture, movement and stillness within the spaces we occupy and how they affect ourselves and everything else. The Saint John s Bible Docent Tours at the Chazen Museum The St. John s Bible is a hand-written and illuminated Bible commissioned by the monks of St. John s Abbey in Collegeville, Minnesota. Remembering Don Haugen Inspired by an Easter Sunday sermon by Pastor Ron Fretheim, artist Don Haugen created his version of the Empty Tomb. This painting is currently on display, along with three of his paintings, in the Bethel Emmaus Room. Don was a life-long Madison resident, member of Bethel, plus member/leader of the Bethel Fine Arts Committee. Don passed away on Dec.15, He is survived by his wife Bev and two daughters. Stop by the table in the Emmaus Room on March 8 to receive your gift of a Haugen print.
