3 RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS The Religious Education Program will be open from 9:30AM to 2:30PM and Monday through Wednesday nights from 6PM to 8:30PM. Please call for more information. Our program has ended for this school year. Please make sure to reregister for next year as soon as possible. We are moving one class of grades 1 thru 4 to Tuesday nights. Class size is limited, so please register soon. You can go to our religious education office for more information. Summer classes will begin Monday, July 6 th to the 10 th from 10AM to 1PM. Those who must attend, will get a letter notifying them in the mail or with progress reports. Please continue praying for our students. ST. PETER S 300 CLUB Thank you to all who bought tickets for our 300 Club Raffle. The winners were: $10,000 ten members of our parish who purchased a ticket together; $1,000 Patrick Barry; $500 Patricia Ryan; $500 Gretchen Malfitano. All of our winners are from St. Peter s Parish. In addition we ran a 50/50 raffle; the winner was Joanne Woska. The prize was $509. Joanne is from St. Mary s Church with whom we are merging this August. PASTORAL COUNCIL Our parish Pastoral Council is planning to add new members to the Council to begin after the summer in September. The Pastoral Council works for the ongoing development of the ministries in our parish. New members will join with our current council when it meets for its annual yearend review and planning for the future. Service on the council includes a monthly meeting from September through June and a few hours of committee work between the regular meetings each month. If you would like to serve on the Council, please speak with Fr. Madden. PARISH PICNIC Thank you to all who came to Bowline Park last Sunday for our annual Parish Picnic. It was our biggest picnic in this century. We served 500 hamburgers and 500 hot dogs, and we had to buy 300 more!! We are grateful to the Town of Haverstraw for opening the children s pool and water activities. Our children enjoyed the water on the beautiful, hot, sunny day. Parishioners from St. Peter s Church and St. Mary s Church had a wonderful time. Thank you to all who cooked our hot dogs, hamburgers and served them with salad and cold drinks; thank you to all who brought dessert to share; thank you to all who prepared rice and beans and pernil (pulled pork) and served them later in the day. CONCILIO PASTORAL Nuestro Concilio Pastoral está planeando agregar nuevos miembros para después del verano, en el mes de Septiembre. El Concilio Pastoral trabaja por el continuo desarrollo de los ministerios de la parroquia. Los nuevos miembros se reunirán con los miembros actuales cuando el concilio se reúna en su reunión evaluativa y de planeamiento de sus acciones futuras. Los servicios en el concilio incluyen una reunión mensual, entre Septiembre y Junio y varias horas de trabajo de los comités entre una y otra reunión mensual. Si le gustase servir en el concilio, favor de hablar con el Padre Madden. DIA DE CAMPO PARROQUIAL Gracias a todos aquellos que vinieron al Parque Bowline el domingo pasado para nuestro Pasadía Anual Parroquial. Este fue el pasadía más grande que hemos tenido en este siglo. Servimos 500 hamburguesas y 500 salchichas y tuvimos que salir a comprar 300 más. Estamos agradecidos del Pueblo de Haverstraw por haber abierto la piscina para los niños y los juegos acuáticos. Nuestros niños disfrutaron del agua en ese bello día, caliente y soleado. Los feligreses de la Iglesia San Pedro y de la Iglesia Santa María disfrutaron de un bonito día. Gracias a todos los que cocinaron las hamburguesas y las salchichas y las sirvieron con ensaladas y bebidas refrescantes; gracias a todos aquellos que trajeron postres para compartir; gracias a los que prepararon arroz y habichuela y pernil y lo sirvieron al final del día.

4 SPECIAL SUMMER SUNDAY MASS SCHEDULE From Sunday July 5 th through Sunday August 30 th our Special Summer Sunday Schedule of Masses will be the following: SATURDAY VIGIL MASSES 5:00PM (English) 7:30PM (Spanish) SUNDAYS 8:00AM 9:00AM 10:00AM (Spanish) 11:15AM 5:00PM Please note the differences from our regular Sunday schedule: there is an added Saturday Vigil Mass at 730PM in Spanish; Sunday the 9:30AM is moved to 9:00AM; the 12:45PM is moved to 10:00AM. The other Masses remain the same. FATHER S DAY NOVENA Our annual Father s Day Novena begins today, Sunday, June 21 st. Deceased and living fathers may be enrolled in this novena. Novena envelopes are in the boxed sets that our registered parishioners receive. Extra envelopes for those who need them are on the shelves by the front center doors of the church. VISITING PRIEST FOR THE SUMMER St. Peter Church is blessed to have Fr. M.A. Sebastian to visit us this summer. Father Sebastian has served as a Seminary professor and has done pastoral work in India. He has served in parishes in the United States. Father Sebastian will be with us until the end of September. His first Sunday here will be June 28 th. MASS WITH COMMUNAL ANOINTING OF THE SICK On Saturday, September 19 th, at 10AM in the school gym we will celebrate the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick during Mass. This will take place in English. En la parte de atrás y central de la entrada de la iglesia pueden ser encontrados sobres adicionales para aquellos que los necesiten. SACERDOTE VISITANTE DURANTE LOS MESES DEL VERANO Nuestra Iglesia San Pedro esta bendecida en tener al Padre M.A. Sebastián quien nos visitará este verano. El Padre Sebastián ha servido como maestro en el Seminario y ha hecho trabajo pastoral en la India. Él ha servido en parroquias en los Estados Unidos. El Padre Sebastián estará con nosotros hasta finales de septiembre. Su primer domingo aquí será el 28º de junio. MISA CON UNCIÓN DE LOS ENFERMOS COMUNAL El sábado 19 de septiembre, a las 10AM en el gimnasio de la escuela, vamos a celebrar el Sacramento de la Unción de los Enfermos durante la Misa.
