Have students stand in a circle. 3. Model the activity, and sing to the familiar tune of the Hokey Pokey. 4. Ask students to first follow your body movements as you sing them. 5. When students are able to perform the activity, ask them to sing along. 6. Magic markers Body part labels (reproducible) Diccionario de las partes del cuerpo Teacher Directions 1. Review body parts. 2. Choose one student to be traced onto the paper. 3. Have student lie down on top of the unrolled paper. 4 Trace the student s outline in marker. 5. Tape outline onto wall. 6. Put body part labels in a pile. 7. Place markers next to pile. 8. For the first round, have individual students come up to the outline, pick a body part label, and then draw that part onto the outline. 9. Put labels back on pile. Variation 1. The activity may be expanded upon by having students tape labels to the appropriate drawing. Student Directions 1. Come up to the outline. 2. Pick a body part label from the pile. 3. Draw the body part onto the outline with a marker. Variation 1 Pick another body part label. 2. Tape it to the outline in the correct spot. Instrucciones a los alumnos 1. Materials Old magazines Scissors Glue Diccionario de las partes del cuerpo List of features to find and cut out Oak tag Teacher Directions 1 Give students a selection of magazines that can be cut apart. 2 Tell the students they are going to create a crazy collage person. 7 I NTERACTIVE S PANISH Cuerpo Olé! BODY PARTS Cuerpo Olé! is designed to reinforce basic vocabulary. It is played like bingo, with nine squares. Students will have fun trying to complete a row and call out Olé! Materials Blank Olé! boards (reproducibles) Picture cards (reproducibles) Game pieces: beans or buttons Diccionario de las partes del cuerpo Teacher directions 1. Review body parts. 2. Cut out picture cards and place in a pile. 3. Copy Olé! board. One per student. 4. Ask students to write the name of nine different body parts in each of the nine boxes. Have them use the Diccionario de las partes del cuerpo to assist them. 5. Give each student about 7 beans or buttons. 6. Choose a picture card and show it to the class. 7. If the student has the name of the body part on his/her Olé! card, have them place a bean or button over the name. 8. If the student gets three boxes in a row either horizontally, vertically or diagonally s/he must call out Olé! 9. Check the Olé! card against the picture cards to make sure it is correct by having the student read the names. Confirm the answers by showing the picture card If the card is correct, that student wins the round. Student directions 1. Using your Diccionario de las partes del cuerpo, fill in each square of your Olé! card with a different body part name. 2 When the teacher shows you a picture of a body part, check your Olé! card to see if you have the name of that part on your card. 3. If you have that body part, put a button (bean) on it. 4. If you complete a row diagonally, vertically or horizontally call out Olé! 5. Read the names in the completed row so the teacher can check.
