Por otra parte, hemos querido resaltar otro de los beneficios de unas vacaciones inolvidables: la relajación. Estrellas de todo el mundo, incluyendo a Chic con Nile Rodgers, que actuó en la gran fiesta de apertura, han elegido este nuevo y espectacular recinto, el primer hotel europeo de la mítica marca americana, situado en la playa más larga de la isla. Stars from all over the world, including Chic featuring Nile Rodgers who performed at the Grand Opening Party, have chosen to play at this spectacular new venue, the first European hotel by the legendary American brand, located at the longest beach on the island. Casi personas de todas las edades, entre clubbers, vips y gente de la isla, se reunieron en el escenario de la piscina desde primera hora de la tarde para presenciar el mítico smash guitars, marca de la casa. El director de Palladium Hotel Group, Abel Matutes Prats; Carmen Matutes (subdirectora general de gestión estratégica) y Yann Pissenem (director creativo de Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel y Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza), entre otros ejecutivos de Palladium Hotel Group, se subieron al escenario para romper sus guitarras al más puro estilo de las estrellas de rock más rebeldes. The season kicked off in mid June with a breathtaking performance by Nile Rodgers along his legendary band Chic, including Jerry Barnes (bass) and Ralph Role on the drums. Almost 5k people of all ages, including clubbers, vips and locals, gathered at the pool stage since early in the afternoon to witness an epic smash guitar. Palladium Hotel Group s CEO Abel Matutes Prats as well as Carmen Matutes (Palladium Hotel Group s Deputy Director of Strategic Management) and Yann Pissenem (Creative Director at Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel and Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza) amongst many other Palladium Hotel Group executives hopped up on stage to break their guitars in true rebel rockstar style. 10 PALLADIUM MAGAZINE

12 La primera temporada comenzó con una actuación impresionante a cargo de Nile Rodgers junto a su banda, Chic. Los dj s Little Louie Vega y Kenny Dope Gonzalez, más conocidos como Masters At Work, y Brian Cross calentaron motores durante la noche con su inimitable sonido. Finalmente, con Nile Rodgers en el escenario comenzaron los good times de una noche muy larga llena de diversión y música en la que un grupo de fans afortunados tuvo la oportunidad de subir al escenario y bailar junto al mismísimo Rodgers y toda su banda. El compositor y productor de varios himnos de la música disco y funky enloqueció al público con la interpretación de algunas de las canciones que ha producido para Modjo (Lady), Diana Ross (I m Coming Out), David Bowie (Let s Dance), Madonna (Like a Virgin), Sister Sledge (We Are Family) o Daft Punk. El dúo francés de dj s ha logrado que Rodgers regrese de nuevo a la primera línea mundial tras el éxito de la canción Get Lucky, incluida en el álbum Random Acess Memories, que llegó a lo más alto de las listas de éxitos de todo el planeta el pasado año. Finally, Nile Rodgers came on stage at around 11 pm. The good times started right there and then in a very long night full of fun and music in which a group of Lucky fans got to dance on stage along Nile Rodgers himself and the band. The latter had Rodgers regain worldwide recognition of his talent as the hit song Get Lucky included in the album Random Access Memories topped the charts all over the planet in PALLADIUM MAGAZINE

14 Después de un comienzo tan impresionante, alguien podría pensar que sería difícil subir el listón pero, conforme avanza la temporada, el escenario de Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza está manteniendo su frescura y poder de atracción para las estrellas. Neneh Cherry y UB40 fueron los otros protagonistas de junio. La banda de Birmingham sólo abandonó el escenario después de que el público no parara de pedirles más y más canciones. En julio tuvo lugar la actuación de Robin Thicke, que encabezó todas las listas de éxitos con su single Blurred Lines en 2013; Icona Pop, autoras de la pegadiza canción I Love It; TinieTempah, que es un habitual de Ibiza, y el ganador de varios premios MTV Jason Derulo. Todos ellos demostraron que las superestrellas y el rock and roll capturan el verdadero espíritu de Ibiza ya que el público vibró en cada una de las actuaciones. Otro de los eventos de la temporada ha sido el Corona Sunsets, un nuevo festival que recaló en la isla para presentar un nuevo género musical a caballo entre el balearic beat y el deep house, perfecto para disfrutar de la vida playera en Hard Rock. El final de la primera temporada en el Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza seguro que será algo memorable. Con las actuaciones previstas de estrellas internacionales como Ellie Goulding, Snoop Dogg, Kylie Minogue, Placebo y Pitbull, el nivel ya es más que altísimo, pero el público sabe que la próxima temporada también estará llena de sorpresas, ya que el lema del equipo de programación no es otro que Lo mejor está por venir. After such an impressive start, some may have thought it would be hard to raise the bar but, as the season progressed, the pool stage at Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza kept its cool as the island s new star magnet. Another of the events of the season was the Corona Sunsets, a new festival that stopped by the white isle to present a new musical genre somewhere between Balearic beat and deep house, perfect to listen to at Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza while enjoying beach life. The end of the first season at Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza is sure one to remember and cherish forever. With the scheduled performances of international stars Ellie Goulding, Snoop Dogg, Kylie Minogue, Placebo and Pitbull the standards are high enough but one can expect anything from the booking team next season as their motto seems to be the best is yet to come. 14 PALLADIUM MAGAZINE

En 2011, la popularidad de Steven Frayne, su nombre real, creció considerablemente gracias a uno de sus trucos más inverosímiles: caminar sobre las aguas del río Támesis. Poco después, ya contaba con su propio programa de televisión Dynamo, magician impossible, que ha conseguido batir récords en la totalidad de las cadenas donde se ha estrenado y cuya última temporada otorgó al canal Discovery MAX los mejores datos de su historia. Precisamente, Ibiza fue el escenario elegido por el ilusionista para rodar algunos de los capítulos de la nueva entrega. 25 PACORONCERO LA COCINA MÁS CANALLA EN ESTADO PURO THE MOST DARING CUISINE AT ESTADO PURO Texto: VANESA DÍAZ Fotografía: VICENT MARÍ Una figura de un gallo rojo gigante da la bienvenida al comedor, presidido en el centro por una gran columna revestida con peinetas que evocan de súbito la belleza del folclore andaluz. Al fondo, la silueta de neón de un jamón ibérico llama la atención al instante, mientras descubres la existencia de un atril donde se puede rendir culto a este codiciado manjar de marcado marchamo español. No hay duda, estamos en el restaurante de tapas por excelencia: el Estado Puro, de Paco Roncero. El distinguido chef, premiado con tres Soles de la Guía Repsol y dos estrellas Michelin, además del Premio Nacional de Gastronomía 2006, ha elegido el Hard Rock Hotel de Ibiza como nueva sede de su gastrobar más canalla, adjetivo al que recurre continuamente cuando se refiere a sí mismo y a todo lo que le envuelve. A statue of a giant red rooster welcomes guests as they enter the dining room, where a large central column coated with peinetas (combs used by female flamenco dancers) quickly evokes the beauty of Andalusian folklore. In the background, a neon silhouette of a ham instantly draws everyone s attention, while discovering the existence of a stand where you can worship and taste this coveted Spanish delicacy. No doubt, we are in the quintessential tapas restaurant: Estado Puro by Paco Roncero. The renowned chef, National Gastronomy Award in 2006, three Repsol Suns and two-star Michelin Guide winner has chosen Hard Rock Hotel in Ibiza as the new headquarters of its most daring gastrobar, an adjective he uses constantly to refer to himself and everything around him. 26 Para mí, la tapa es un estilo de vida que he tenido presente desde pequeño, explica Roncero, algo que queda patente a simple vista cuando uno de sus platos recala en la mesa desprendiendo un toque de cuidado y cariño excepcionales. En su opinión, el éxito de sus tapas reside en que son divertidas y te permiten probar muchos sabores distintos sin tener que estar sentado en la mesa. Con este fin, Estado Puro está dividido en dos áreas bien diferenciadas: una para los que pretenden disfrutar de una sosegada cena a la carta y otra más informal en la que se puede comer de pie y, por qué no?, con las manos porque, cuando se trata de una buena tosta o una croqueta, Roncero tiene claro que lo ideal es olvidarse de los cubiertos. Esas particularidades de la forma de comer a la española, sin cubiertos, en la barra o haciendo barquitos para mojar, son bien propias de este establecimiento. El diseño de la sala no pasa desapercibido por mucho que lo intente, y es que para este cocinero madrileño la decoración es fundamental. Siempre me ha gustado ese toque cañí, un poquito canalla como lo llamo yo. Es una forma de expresarte, afirma Roncero, firme defensor del movimiento neocañí, ese spanglish tan divertido que tenemos en España, que juega un poco con lo castizo a través del uso literal de palabras en inglés y en español. Un lenguaje que liga a la perfección con el concepto del gastrobar y que, por tanto, adorna las paredes del local en forma de frases hechas traducidas deliberada y textualmente. Así, Estado Puro se convierte en el único lugar donde cobra sentido la frase Boss, one fishing pole and the painful ( Jefe! Una caña y la dolorosa). Además de ese entorno concebido con una meticulosidad extraordinaria, el maestro del paladar confiesa que cuando va a un bar de tapas no pueden faltar las croquetas, la ensaladilla rusa ni las bravas Tomen nota! REINVENTAR LO TRADICIONAL En Estado Puro, el chef galardonado con tres soles Repsol ha querido recrear el bar de tapas tradicional dándole la vuelta a la imagen estereotipada que se tiene de ellos y de su comida. Sin embargo, cómo se reinventan una ensaladilla rusa o unos boquerones en vinagre? Para Roncero la respuesta es simple, ya que la reinvención prima en el sentido decorativo, en añadir elementos que le aporten un toque divertido al plato, y no tanto en su sabor.
