3 PARISH NEWS!!! Reverend Don Kribs, born in 1934, celebrated his Golden Jubilee as a priest. Physical disabilities prevent him from standing long enough to celebrate Mass: But I m in the pews, participating in Eucharist, and that s the important thing. Now retired, Father Kribs said, I ve donated my life to the people, especially the poor in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Everything I ve done for 50 years whether ministering in parishes, on Skid Row or as chaplain in county hospitals has been about people, social justice, and peace. And my ministry has always has been funded by the generosity of the People of God in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. We do it together. We all have our function. A priest is only one function of the People of God. Through this Retirement Fund, people acknowledge priests as part of the community. Without the people, my ministry wouldn t have happened. I ve been dependent on people the whole time, and I still am. It s been the people who have kept me going in retirement. There s no way I d be able to live here at Nazareth House by myself, so please help. Thank you, people, for supporting retired priests: I m totally grateful! WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! We are accepting donations for both our Silent Auction and our Live Auction. All donations are tax-deductible and will benefit both our Church and our School. Fondo de Jubilación Para Los Sacerdotes El REVERENDO DON KRIBS, nacido en 1934, celebró en abril su Cincuentenario como sacerdote. Problemas físicos le impiden permanecer de pié mucho tiempo como para celebrar misa: Pero estoy en las bancas participando en la Eucaristía, y eso es lo importante. Ahora retirado, Padre Kribs dice, He dado mi vida a la gente, a los pobres de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles. Todo lo que he hecho durante 50 años ya sea ministrando en las parroquias, en los barrios bajos o como capellán en los hospitales tiene que ver con personas, con justicia social y paz. Mi ministerio siempre ha sido financiado por la generosidad del Pueblo de Dios en la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles. Lo hacemos juntos. Todos tenemos nuestra función. Un sacerdote es solamente una función del Pueblo de Dios. A través de este Fondo de Jubilación, las personas reconocen a los sacerdotes como parte de la comunidad. Sin la gente, mi ministerio no hubiera sucedido. He dependido de la gente todo el tiempo y todavía dependo. Esla gente la que me permite estar jubilado. No hay manera que yo pudiera vivir acá en Nazareth House por mis propios medios, así que por favor ayuden.
