Joining him will be Msgr. Kevin Kostelnik, Cathedral Pastor, Msgr. Antonio Cacciapuoti, Pastor of St. Bede Church in La Canada and Fr. Bonifacio Lopez from Rome. The image will be available for veneration in Chapel 5 (South Ambulatory) at 9:00 am, and again following the Mass until 5:00 pm. The book on the holy image, The Face of God, The Rediscovery of the True Face of Jesus (and others by Paul Badde) will be available in the Gift Shop. Mr. Badde is expected to be on hand to sign his books. On September 23rd in Washington, D.C., Pope Francis, during his first apostolic trip to the United States, will canonize Blessed Junípero Serra, a Franciscan Friar who established the California Missions and secured a bill of rights for native peoples. Serra will be the first Hispanic saint in the United States. The Cathedral will mark this historic occasion with a chapel housing a relic of the newest saint, as well as a special art exhibit highlighting the California Missions and the Evangelization of Serra. Teach your children that they should never get into a car with someone they don t know. They should also have a parent s permission before they accept a ride with someone they do know. If you do have to send someone to pick up your kids, establish a family code word. If the driver gives your children the code word, they know that it s safe to get in the car.
