Curso de iniciación al Inglés Unidad 4 LECCIÓN 4.1. EDADES She s 18 years old She s 40 years old She s only 8 years old She s 80 she s so old At a friend s house A: Look! Aren t they nice? Are those your twins? B: Yes, they are. This is Bob and this is Bill. A: How old are they? B: They re 20 days old. A: Oh, they re so young! En casa de una amiga A: Vaya! No son un encanto? Son estos tus gemelos? B: Sí, este es Bob y este es Bill. A: Qué tiempo tienen? B: 20 días A: Oh, qué jóvenes! GRAMÁTICA: En inglés, para preguntar la edad, se utiliza la siguiente estructura: How old are you? - Cuántos años tienes? How old are they? - Cuántos años tienen ellos? How old is it?/ How old is your car? - Cuántos años tiene?/ Cuántos años tiene tu coche? 63
Para responder a esta pregunta utilizamos la siguiente estructura: - I am 17 years old - You/we/they are 40 years old - He/she/it is 20 years old I m 17 Now I ve got a car Podemos sustituir years por months (meses), weeks (semanas), days (días) PECULIARIDADES: En Gran Bretaña la edad legal a la que puede una persona obtener el carnet de conducir es a los 17 años. Ej. My house is 40 years old, it is so old!
My car is only one month old. 2. Your boyfriend is very young. 3. My cat is very old. 4. The computers are new. 5. How old is your teacher? 6. These books are 5 years old. 7. My sister and I are 18 years old. 8. My mobile phone is only 6 months old. 2. Corrija los errores en las siguientes oraciones: 1. How old are I? 2. My husband am 40 years old 3. How old the cat is? 4. My book aren t very old 5. The computer am new 6. We aren t 23 years 7. The bed is new, she is 1 week old 8. My father is 90 years old, it is so old! 65
Unidad 4 Curso de iniciación al Inglés LECCIÓN 4.2. LA FAMILIA Mother / Mom Father / Dad Son Daughter Talking about one s family A: Who s that man in the picture? B: Oh, that s my father s cousin. A: And who is the woman with the blue sweater? B: She s my brother s wife. A: And where are you? B: We re in my grandparent s house, in Brighton.
Curso de iniciación al Inglés Unidad 4 EJERCICIOS 1. Forme oraciones expresando la posesión como en el ejemplo o bien utilizando la preposición of cuando sea posible: 1. the camera / Tom Tom s camera 2. the eyes / the cat 3. the top / the page 4. the daughter / Mr Smith 5. the toys / the children 6. the names / your friend 7. the man / name 8. the car / Mike 2. 10 Unidad 4 Curso de iniciación al Inglés - Behind - detrás - In front of delante - Between entre Las preposiciones in, at y on tienen muchos matices y se utilizan con las siguientes expresiones: IN - Dentro de un espacio cerrado: in the bedroom / in my office / in your pocket / in hospital / in prison / in bed in the front / in the back of a car (pero; at the front / at the back of a cinema, of a building) - dentro de un objeto: in that book / in the water - En un lugar abierto (sitios determinados con unos límites definidos): in the park / in the street / in the garden / in the queue - Con países y ciudades: in Spain / in Madrid / in my country / in this town ON - Sobre una superficie, con contacto físico: 72

Unidad 4 Curso de iniciación al Inglés - O con lugares abiertos con agua: "at": al lado; "in": dentro at the river (en la orilla del río) / in the river (dentro del agua) at the lake / in the lake at the swimming pool / in the swimming pool at the sea / in the sea PECULIARIDADES: En inglés, cuando hay dos palabras u oraciones que se utilizan en paralelo y requieren la misma preposición, no es necesario repetir la preposición. Ej. You can wear that outfit in summer and in winter. Ej. Where did they go to?
