(Matthew 25:34) CURSILLO MEN S WEEKEND Calling all Men of St. Thomas parish to our annual Cursillo Men s Weekend at Apison Retreat Center this October th. The retreat center is off the Ooltewah exit just north of Chattanooga. Fr. Joe Brando will be the resident clergy for the retreat. The talks will be presented by select Diocesan laity. It s a great program; one you won t soon forget; with the help of the Holy Spirit the Cursillo will enable you to get more in touch with God, the Church and your fellow brothers and sisters. There s no better spiritual way to spend an October weekend than this Men s Weekend. God willing it can become the most memorable weekend you ve ever spent. As a means to further visualize the Cursillo Weekend, the following definition is offered: Cursillo (Spanish) meaning little course is a course in Christianity that moves you to recognize how you are called to live out your Christian life. Questions? Call Kevin ARE YOU INTERESTED? Fr. Doug is planning opportunities for you to experience two prayer retreats from different spiritual perspectives in the coming year. One retreat will be at the Abbey of Gethsemani near Louisville, KY and the other will be at Ignatius House outside of Atlanta. Each retreat will be 2 nights/3 days and will cost approximately $ pp plus transportation. We are looking at the months of April, June, or August. We cannot provide specific information until we know how many adults might be interested. Vacation Bible School is called Totus Tuus. This program sponsored by the Diocese of Knoxville sends college students and seminarians to our parish to spread the Good News of our Lord among children. 4 Good News from the St. Thomas Music Ministry! Misa Luna Mass cards are on the narthex table if you need one. The summer months can be a WONDERFUL time to try one of our adult choirs. During June and July we meet up in the choir room about 40 minutes before each Sunday Mass (8:20 or 10:50) to go over the music for that Mass! The knights provide much more than just pancakes. In addition to pancakes, they serve sausage, mini omelets, French toast, biscuits and gravy, orange juice and coffee. Remember all proceeds from the pancake breakfasts go to support our diocesan seminarians. We hope to see you and thank you for your support. Call Eileen ( ) for info. VIRTUS TRAINING The next Virtus Training, Protecting God s Children, will be at St. Thomas in the Deacon Jose Rivera Room on Monday, June 29, 6:00-9:00pm. This training is required for all adults who work in ministry for children or vulnerable adults: catechists, youth facilitators, VBS adult volunteers, Stephen Ministers, Eucharistic Ministers to the homebound.
