1 INTERPRETER He was part of the Big Band Luis Rovira, which toured mainly in the Scandinavian countries and elsewhere in Europe With Carles Cases Quartet jazz band, he acted in several musical events throughout Spain During eight years he acted as musical director / arranger of the songwriter Lluis Llach, both in concerts and tours and all of the singer s record production. During the year 1983 Cases was part of a string quartet as a cellist, performing works by Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Ravel, Shostakovich He founded Blaumarí (Jazz Fusion band) playing repertoire throughout Spain with great success to Jazz Festivals in Barcelona and Mallorca He took part of the foundation Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now with Carles Cases Trio Formed by Lluís Ribalta (drums), Paco Rodriguez (bass) and Carles Cases (piano). Recent live shows developed in the twenty first century, are: Morphing (Carles Cases i Percussions de Barcelona), where each topic is the transformation of a work of a classical composer to one of Carles Cases, or vice versa, sometimes in an immediate and forceful way and other times with an structural evolution. Carles Cases Strings Band, concert where Carles Casas proposed his own music of the most common genres of his work for cinema and concert: Minimalism, neo-romantic, neo-baroque... Els Intocables of Carles Cases (audio-visual spectacle), which is interpreted in a new live soundtrack for the movie The Untouchables of Eliot Ness, composed by Carles Cases. Carles Cases & Film Music Ensemble piano performance of his soundtracks and adapted for the concert, accompanied by twelve string instruments. Plays Dancing the waltz, tango i other genres of the time Carles Cases have inspired to compose or adapt their most characteristic for a very special quartet. Carles Cases diu Llach is a selection of the musical repertoire of Lluís Llach re-interpreted by the composer Carles Cases. A very exciting, intimate and delicate proposal, born from the years that Carles Cases was a musician and Lluís Llach s right hand man, and now from the distance and the experience, makes a re-reading music. Travel through Lluis Llach s universe from the orbit of Carles Cases. Film for Violins songs taken from the original soundtracks seventy Carles Cases has composed in his film career as a musician. The interpreted a formation of six musicians led by two solo violins accompanied by four rhythm instruments.
2 TEACHING ACTIVITY 1980 Has served as professor of harmony and piano at the active musical pedagogy school L Esclat and in the Classroom of modern music and jazz from Barcelona Activa He teaches the subject Soundtrack for Science Communication students at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. He has done an outstanding teaching activity as professor of harmony, piano and cello, as well as several master classes as a composer of music for audiovisual courses in Zarautz, Barcelona, Valencia, Granada... COMPOSER, PRODUCER, DIRECTOR From 1989 began his career as a composer of film music and audiovisual, and since then, he has composed the soundtracks for more than sixty films Composes the Symphony of the Barcelona 92 Olympic secundary venue images and music, which could be listened around the world during the Olympic Games Founder of the Big Band of Vic, composed by twenty jazz musicians in which he participated as a conductor, arranger and composer Handles the musical direction of the singer Melva Houston (recognized voice of The Platters, Otis Redding, etc...) during sporadic tours to different parts of Spain Founder of the Film Music Band, a band dedicated to performing and recording soundtrack composed by Carles Cases. This band could be heard live at Sitges Film Festival, Film Festival of Valencia, Peñiscola, Encuentros de Música de cine in Seville, Palau de la Música Catalana He has directed over thirty record productions. These include Lluís Llach, Martirio, McGregor s, Maria del Mar Bonet, Georges Moustaki, Gerard Jaquet, Duble Buble, Marina Rossell, Gossos, Chano Dominguez... Over the last twenty years,he has combined the sound tracks and works for the concert, mostly for chamber groups (trios, quartets, wind quintets) and orchestras.
