2 What is Title I? Qué es el Título I? Title I is a federal program that provides financial assistance to help ensure that all students meet state academic standards. 3 Lindley Park is a Title I School Lindley es Título I. Lindley Park uses Title I funds to operate a schoolwide program. Schoolwide programs allow Title I funds to be used to serve ALL children in the school. 5 Highly Qualified Teaching Staff Maestros Altamente Calificados Title I schools must have teachers and teacher assistants that are highly qualified. To be highly qualified, must be licensed by the state, fully certified, and able to demonstrate competence in the subjects they teach. Our teaching staff is 100% highly qualified. Parents will be notified if a child is being taught by a teacher who is not considered highlyqualified. 8 Waivers to the NCLB Law Exenciones a la Ley NCLB North Carolina submitted a request to waive some provisions of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) law. 9 Key Changes Cambios Claves Schools will no longer be measured on Adequate Yearly Progress. Schools will no longer be identified with a School Improvement status.
