2 PRESENTACIONES: Primer y tercer sábado de cada mes a las 3:00 pm. QUINCEAÑERAS: Es necesario hacer cita con el padre por lo menos con 6 meses de anticipación. BAUTISMOS: Los bautismos en español son el segundo sábado de cada mes a las 12pm y el cuarto domingo del mes a las 3pm. La platica pre-bautismal es el primer domingo del mes a las 3pm en el salón parroquial. No niños a la plática. Donación de $50 por la platica y el certificado de Bautismo. Los padrinos tienen que ser mayores de 16 años y tener sus Sacramentos, si son casados deben estar casados por la Iglesia. BODAS: Es necesario hacer cita con el padre. Por lo menos con 6 meses de anticipación de la fecha deseada. BAPTISM: Baptisms in English are the 3rd Sunday of the month at 3pm. The parents and godparents need to attend a baptismal class on the 1st Sunday of the month at 3pm: $50 donation for the class & baptismal cert. per child. No children. The godparents must be confirmed, 16 years of age, and if married, validly married in the Catholic Church. MARRIAGE: The couple needs to meet with a priest to begin their marriage preparation. Must make appointment at least 6 months prior to date desired. ANOINTING OF THE SICK: This sacrament is for those with a serious illness. It should be received at the beginning of an illness. Word of Life [S]ome behaviors are always wrong, always incompatible with our love of God and the dignity of the human person....assisted suicide and euthanasia are not acts of mercy but acts that are never morally acceptable. Living the Word... St. Monica Parish To celebrate Corpus Christi, is to celebrate the feast of the Bread of Life (Jn 6.48) and the Real presence and closeness to Jesus. In the last supper, Jesus left us the Memorial of His Passion. The bread becomes His Body and the wine into His Blood (Mt 26, 26-28), it is a miracle of love and a dogma that is difficult to understand by reasoning, but by faith we know that His Blood is true drink and His Body, is real food. And it is for the good and the bad. Oh, but what a different effect the same meal has; to the bad it gives them death and to the good it gives them life (sequential). Think, what I am earning in receiving Him in communion; salvation or damnation? In the history of humanity and salvation, through the Body the Spirit gives us life, and through baptism we are all the body of Christ. Blood has also had great significance. The doors marked with the blood of the slain lamb slain for Passover, save the people of Israel from death and Jesus, on the cross, shed His blood for our salvation. Blood continues to be a sign of life; every time someone needs a blood transfusion they receive the life that the donors share, therefore, "donating blood is saving lives". Life is a journey, we are just passing through and where are we going? Christians know that we are traveling towards heaven and without Jesus we can do nothing. (Jn 15, 5) We need His prayer: Lord "Give us today our daily bread." (Matthew 6: 11). How will repay the Lord for all the good that has given me? His Precious Blood sealed for us the New and Eternal Alliance. And we: how and with what, can we pay to the Lord all the good He gives us each day? How can we sign an alliance of service and obedience with the love of loves? Serve in a Ministry? Living our Christian life? Whenever we receive the Eucharist, we are invited to take, bless, break and share our life the way Jesus has, to be bread for others; four verbs to be put into action. Many die every day from lack of bread, the bread of love, of understanding, of fidelity (suicides, abortions, wars...) because there are not any families, only groups of people living together. Take care not to waste or throw out anything, because what we have in excess or we waste: belongs to the poor. Jesus did not want dine alone, but with His disciples. Family meals are a sacred space to share: feelings, hopes, and failures, etc. You share life. Let us value those who live with us. May each time that we bring the food to our mouth, and at the moment of the consecration seal with Jesus our new alliance and eternal love and gratitude. 4 June 7, 2015 Viviendo la Palabra Celebrar el Corpus Christi, es celebrar la fiesta del Pan de Vida (Cfr. Jn 6,48 ) y de la Presencia Real y cercana de Jesús. En la Ultima Cena, Jesús nos dejó el Memorial de su Pasión. El pan convertido en su Cuerpo y el vino convertido en su Sangre (Cfr. Mt 26,26-28), Es un milagro de amor y un dogma que por la razón es difícil entenderlo, pero por la fe sabemos que su Sangre es verdadera bebida y su Cuerpo, es verdadera comida. Y se da a buenos y malos ah! pero que efecto tan distinto tiene la misma comida, a los malos les da muerte y a los buenos les da vida (secuencia). Pensemos, Qué estoy ganando al recibirlo en la comunión? La salvación o la condenación? En la historia de la humanidad y de la salvación, por el cuerpo el Espíritu nos da vida, y por el bautismo todos formamos el Cuerpo de Cristo. También la sangre ha tenido un gran significado. Las puertas marcadas con la sangre del cordero inmolado para la Pascua, salva al pueblo de Israel de la muerte y Jesús, en la cruz, derramó su sangre por nuestra salvación. La sangre sigue siendo señal de vida, cada que alguien necesita transfusión de sangre recibe vida que los donadores le comparten, por eso, donar sangre es salvar vidas. La vida es un viaje, solo estamos de paso y a dónde viajamos? Los cristianos sabemos que estamos de viaje hacia el Cielo y sin Jesús nada podemos (Jn 15,5). Necesitamos su pedirle: Señor Danos hoy nuestro pan de cada día (Mateo 6, 11). Cómo pagare al Señor todo el bien que me ha hecho? Su Preciosa Sangre selló para nosotros la Nueva y Eterna Alianza. Y nosotros: Cómo y con qué podemos pagar al Señor todo el bien que nos hace cada día? Cómo firmar una alianza de servicio y obediencia con el Amor de los amores? Servir en un ministerio? Viviendo nuestra vida cristiana? Cada vez que recibimos la Eucaristía, estamos invitados a tomar, bendecir, partir y compartir nuestra vida a la manera de Jesús, ser pan para los demás. Cuatro verbos para ponerlos en acción. Cada día mueren muchos por falta de pan, el pan del amor, de la comprensión, de la fidelidad, (Suicidios, abortos, guerras ) porque ya no hay familias, sino solo grupos de personas que viven juntas. Y cuidemos de no desperdiciar ni tirar nada, porque lo que nos sobra o desperdiciamos les pertenece a los pobres. Jesús no quiso cenar solo, sino con sus discípulos. La comida en familia es un espacio sagrado para compartir: los sentimientos, las esperanzas, los fracasos, etc. Se comparte la vida misma. Valoremos a los que viven con nosotros. Que cada vez que nos llevemos el alimento a la boca, y en el momento de la Consagración sellemos con Jesús nuestra alianza nueva y eterna de amor y agradecimiento. Hna.
