9 SACRAMENTS Baptism Noe Rocha (512) The ritual for baptism identifies parents as first teachers of their children in the ways of faith. The parish community is a source of engagement that provides connections for everyone who belongs to the Body of Christ. Children and youth will find their place if parents are engaged in living the Catholic Faith. There are many contending interests and life styles that will be more attractive to young people but they need the structure of family life and parish to ground them in the spiritual journey. Religious formation is provided to support parents but is only one component. The habit of faith entails application of time, talent and treasure. It is a way of life! Information sessions are offered the first Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. in the Education Center, rooms 15 & 17 for parent session. Both parents must attend (if applicable) and bring the child's birth certificate (if applicable). Sacramental preparation for baptism is part of the Faith Formation program. 10 GENERAL INFORMATION A weekly bulletin of St. William, the website, Facebook page and Twitter account all contain detailed information regarding various ministries as well as times and locations for church sponsored activities. Visit the website for up-to-date information found in this ministry book. Registering at St. William When you regularly pray with us at St. William, let us know you are here by registering. This assures you of full membership in the St. William community and guarantees that you will receive regular communication from your parish. Registering and fulfilling the active parishioner criteria is also used in determining the appropriate tuition rate for Catholic students at shared Catholic schools. An active parishioner family is one who is duly registered in the parish, participates regularly in Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation, and supports the parish financially by regular use of envelopes or electronic deposit. Although the criteria constitute a minimum description of one who is actively involved in the parish, an active parishioner can do much more than this, depending on time, ability and circumstances. Registration packets are available in the narthex and at the church office. Be sure to inquire about automated weekly tithing in the parish office or on the website. Fill our minds with His truth and our hearts with HIS love, That in His spirit we may be bonded together Into a community of faith, A parish family, And a caring people.
