1 Nombre Practicamos el perfecto de indicativo! (Present Perfect) Complete the sentences below using: 1.) The correct present tense form of the verb haber 2.) 2 Irregular Past Participles There are a number of irregular past participles in Spanish. 1.) Past participles ending in ido The past participles of er and ir verbs with stems ending in a vowel have an accent mark on the i in ido. caer! caído (fallen) oír! oído (heard) creer! creído (believed) reír! reído (laughed) leer! leído (read) traer! traído (brought) 2.) Other irregular past participles These verbs (and their compounds) have irregular past participles: abrir! abierto (opened) morir! muerto(died) cubrir! cubierto (covered) poner! puesto (put) decir! dicho (said) resolver! resuelto (resolved) escribir! escrito (written) romper! roto (broken) hacer! hecho (done, made) ver! visto (seen) imprimir! impreso (printed) volver! vuelto (returned) Associated compounds: descubrir, deshacer, imponer, devolver, etc. Usage of these irregular past participles is the same as with regular past participles. They are almost always preceded by a form of haber. Examples: Yo he escrito una carta a Rosa.! I have written a letter to Rosa. Tú has hecho tu tarea.! You have done your homework. José ha abierto la puerta.! José has opened the door. Nosotros hemos visto la foto.! We have seen the photograph. Vosotros habéis devuelto el libro.! You guys have returned the book. Ellos han muerto.! They have died.
