Iniciem avui la segona de les tres "Summer Universities", en el marc del projecte europeu CIVITAS DYN@MO, centrat en la planificació de la mobilitat sostenible per a les ciutats d'aachen, Gdynia, Koprivnica i Palma i del qual formen part 27 socis de sis països europeus: Alemanya, Polònia, Croàcia, Suècia, Finlàndia i Espanya. El proyecto DYN@MO, iniciado en diciembre del año 2012, se fundamenta en el papel que deben asumir los ciudadanos en la planificación de la movilidad en las ciudades. Los ejes transversales de este proyecto son: el diálogo dinámico con los ciudadanos para la realización de Planes de Movilidad Sostenible;

2 el avance hacia los sistemas de movilidad 2.0, la movilidad eléctrica y los vehículos limpios y el impulso a los modos de transporte no motorizados. Methodologically, we must evaluate the effects of each measure to know its strengths and weaknesses, its barriers and drivers and the lessons learned in the implementation process, so they can be used as a reference for the rest of the cities in the CIVITAS network. In essence, this evaluation process is one of the main goals of the DYN@MO project. And the main task, as evaluation managers, that Universities involved in the project must carry out. The Summer University is one of the main tools for the dissemination of the CIVITAS DYN@MO project. The Summer University aims at being a bridge between the project and the society, a place for knowledge interchange among experts in the sustainable mobility area. In the end, as an academic activity, the Summer University intends to become a place for learning, thinking and building knowledge for students and professorate. The first edition of the Summer University was focused on Engaging in a dynamic dialogue for Sustainable urban mobility Planning. In this Second edition the Summer University we will work on Implementing city and citizen friendly electric vehicles and, during the three sessions, we will be able to interchange experiences and technical knowledge in this topic. Clean vehicles is one of three horizontal work packages in the CIVITAS DYN@MO project and, in each of the four cities, several measures will be implemented

3 The University partners, competence centers and measure leaders of the CIVITAS project, provide the content of the courses. In addition, international experts are invited to contribute to each of the courses. The first day, that we are now opening, will be dedicated to European Framework for electric mobility. The second session, tomorrow, will be focused in the European Experiences with Electro mobility. Finally, on Friday the session will be focused on the Electric mobility in Spain and we will pay attention also to our city, Palma. The agenda of the three sessions has been designed to combine theorical issues with more practical and dynamic sessions open to the interaction with the participants, conducted and developed by high-level international and national experts. A short visit to HERTZ, rental company of electric vehicles and ENDESA, gas and electricity company, has also been planned, using public transport and the electric vehicles available from Palma Municipality. Last but not least, we should mention also the round table that will take place on Friday, with the participation of key stakeholders for electromobility in Palma: EMAYA, SAMPOL, ENDESA, Department of mobility of Palma and Regional Department of Industry. We hope, finally, that all the activities included in this Summer University could give a complete vision on implementing electric and clean vehicles in the cities. THE FIGURES: 104 inscriptions, 24 international and national participants in conferences, parallel workshops and roundtable. Finally, the information and synergies with 3 european projects: The Green e-motion, TROLLEY and ECO-FEV

4 La procedencia de los más de CIEN participantes en esta segunda CIVITAS Summer University presenta una cobertura geográfica europea muy amplia: Alemania, Polonia, Croacia, Francia, Suecia, Reino Unido, Finlandia y España. Quiero recalcar especialmente la importante presencia de estudiantes del grado de Geografía de la Universitat de les Illes Balears, en conjunto, más de 40. Para acabar, quisiera agradecer, en primer lugar, a todos los ponentes que van a intervenir en estos días, el haber aceptado el reto de compartir sus conocimientos de movilidad eléctrica con todos nosotros. También agradecer la presencia de los socios europeos del proyecto CIVITAS DYN@MO, siendo ya, para algunos de ellos, el tercer día de estancia en Palma, después de dos días de reunión del Proyecto. Entre ellos, agradecer especialmente a los que han colaborado directamente en la planificación de esta Summer University, Bernd Decker, Marcel Braun y Tom Rye. Igualment agrair als socis locals, l'ajuntament de Palma, al cap de Mobilitat, Miquel Femenia i a tots els líders de mesures de l'esmentada àrea: Jesús Moreno, Fernando Rodríguez, Mateu Maimó. A la resta de socis locals, SMAP, Antoni Salas, EMT, José Adamuz, i EMAYA, Llorenç Mestre, per la seva participació. A Maarten van Bemmelen, en especial, per la seva col laboració en l organització d aquest esdeveniment. Agrair al Departament de Ciències de la Terra de la Universitat de les Illes Balears, en el marc del qual treballa el grup de recerca GITMOT i, molt particularment, assenyalar la generositat i dedicació dels membres dedicats a la SU, a la Dra. Rosa Martínez, Dr. Maurici Ruiz, Jaume Mateu i Felip Morell, tècnics del projecte, i esmentar igualment la tasca i ajuda dels tres

5 alumnes col laboradors del grau de Geografia: Loïc Guerrero, David Hervàs i Albert Abril, sense tots els qui han col laborat difícilment seriem avui, aquí. Esperem que aquesta segona CIVITAS DYN@MO Summer University sigui profitosa.
