4 Safety notes Mind the storae and operation temperatures for the device listed in the technical specifications. nly connect the device when the permissible ambient operatin temperature has been reached. Please note that condensation on or in the unit must be prevented when movin from cold to warm surroundins. nly remove the unit from the packae when the permissible ambient operatin temperature has been reached. You should not make calls or connect or disconnect any lines durin thunderstorms. nly attach the connectin cords at the connections provided. Make sure phone cables are installed in a safe manner to prevent trippin. Elektrostatic chares The telephone is supplied with enhanced ESD protection aainst the effects of electrostatic dischare that exceeds the protection level cited in the approval specification. Elevated ESD levels should nevertheless be avoided to the reatest possible extent. In some cases, electrostatic dischare levels can far exceed the approval limits or the resistance levels already implemented in your telephones. Eliminate the causes or conditions that promote these elevated ESD levels, such as insufficient humidity or carpetin. The telephone manufacturer does not assume any liability for damae caused under such circumstances. 2

Brief description of functions CD-M with User Manual Cleanin the telephone The ISDN system telephone has been manufactured for normal, everyday use. When required, clean the ISDN system telephone with a slihtly moistened cloth, or with an anti-static cloth. Never use a solvent to clean the phone! Never use a dry cloth; Electrostatic chares could damae the electronics in the system. It is essential that no liquids penetrate into the inside of the ISDN system telephone, as this could destroy the phone. Installin the telephone Please note that the plastic feet of your ISDN system telephone may leave marks on sensitive surfaces, such as furniture. The manufacturer of the telephone is not liable for any such damae. Therefore, use appropriate non-skiddin pads under the phone. Connectin the IP phone Connectin the handset cord Connectin the handset to the base Insert handset cord into handset jack at the left side of the : base (1) and at the lower end of the handset (2). 1 2 Telephone rear view Connectin the telephone with the Internet: Connect IP phone to a computer if necessary. Activatin the telephone: Plu the J-45 Ethernet cable into the Ethernet jack named»wan«of the phone. Plu the other end of the cable into an appropriate LAN or DSL/Cable router port or a HUB. Plu the J-45 Ethernet cable into the Ethernet jack named»lan«of the phone. Plu the other end of the cable to a computer. Plu the power adapter into the power jack of the phone. Then plu the other end of the power adapter into the appropriate 230 VAC wall outlet. 4

Installin the IP Phone Before installin your IP phone, it is useful to know what kind of IP addressin your LAN or router is usin. 5

8 Enlish What is the IP addressin of your network? Most networks, includin the Internet, use identification codes IP (Internet Protocol) addresses to identify and locate the devices that share their services. DHCP-addressin With this system, your LAN or router automatically assins all the required IP parameters to any device connected to it when the device los on. (Some ISPs who use DHCP require a host name, which must be entered manually.) Your phone is shipped from the factory with DHCP on, or enabled. So, if your LAN or router is confiured to use DHCP addressin, your IP Phone s LAN parameters will automatically be confiured as soon as it is connected to the LAN or router and powered up. Static addressin If your LAN does not use DHCP addressin, each device concurrently connected to it must be assined its own unique IP address. In this case, your LAN s confiuration information must be manually entered into the phone. You will need to know the followin parameters: IP address Subnet mask Gateway address Primary DNS address Secondary DNS address (required by some systems) If your network uses static addressin, ask your network administrator for the parameters needed for confiurin your IP Phone. Simple Lo-in of a»funkwerk IP 50«to a PABX. Enroll your telephone at the pabx and specify a number for the SIP-phone (e.. 13); save the chanes made. If required enter all other information accordin to the pabx description. Connect the pabx and the»funkwerk IP 50«throuh Ethernet. Connect the power supply for the»funkwerk IP 50«. Use this button to dial the last number once aain (redial button). Use this button to initiate a three-party conferencecall. Use this button to transfer a call to another party. This symbol prompts you to press the Kbutton (Enter). Use this button to access the confiurator. Use this button to access the telephonedirectory. When the telephone is idle (not yet enrolled) the a display shows the followin: Date (MM-TT) and time (hh:mm) in the upper line, as for example :26 a.m.»no service«sinifies that none of the performance features such as call transfer or»do not disturb«has been activated. The reen LED will be lit after enrollin the telephone with a SIP-provider or with a pabx :26 No service Display for an enrolled telephone When the telephone is idle, the display shows a the followin: Daten and time on the first line. The entered name (»Display Name«) on the second line. The reen LED is lit. The telephone has been enrolled with a SIP-provider or with a pabx :26 < IP-50> Liftin up the handset without dialin If you lift up the handset but do not start dialin, b the dial mode will be switched off after approximately 20 seconds. The text shown here is then displayed for around 10 seconds and you will hear the busy tone. The display then returns to idle state. To have the entered number dialed immediately, press the # button. The user is called. IP Dialin inback 1234 Call connection You are connected with the other party. Description of the display: L1:10 = Connected with call number 10. Timer = Connected for 1 hour, 2 minutes and 3 seconds. L1:10 Timer=01:02:03 oom inquiriy You are connected with the other party. IP Dialin Timer=01:02:03 Telephony When subscribers are put on hold they hear waitin music, dependin on the provider. Note! When you press any of the numerical buttons, the phone will start dialin, even with the handset on hook or hands-free mode switched off. The followin procedures often bein with»lift up handset«and end with»eplace handset«. Activatin or deactivatin the hands-free mode has exactly the same effect. Speak to the desired party. a Mute button»mute«the other party can hear you aain. Press the System-parked inquiry button»hold«once aain to return to the first call. You will be connected with the waitin party. Your first call is put on hold (see»inquiry call«). For further procedures refer also to»broker s call«or»three-party conference call«. You are conductin the call. The first call is put on hold. PresstheSystem-parkedinquirybutton»Hold«,toreturntothefirstcaller,thesecond caller will be put on hold. Press»Hold«to switch back and forth between the two callers. If you switch back and forth between two external parties (broker s call) and then han up your handset, the current call is terminated and the caller on hold will call you by way of the»ecall«. Call switchin t or a You are conductin a call and wish to transfer the call to another party. Press»Transfer«. You hear the dial tone from the earpiece. Dial the number of the party you wish to call. 14 Enlish Three-Party Conferencin You are conductin a call with one party and wish to include a further party in the call. T d Press the System-parked inquiry button»hold«. You hear the dial tone from the earpiece. t Dial the number of the party you wish to call. You would like to include this party in the first call. Press the System-parked inquiry button»hold«,conduct your three-party conference call. The conference is ended when you han up your handset. A party included in the conference call can han up at any time and the party which initiated the call can then continue the conference with the remainin callers. If you are in a conference call and you han up, your call is terminated and the two parties from your conference remain connected with each other! 12

18 Sicherheitshinweise Sicherheitshinweise Beachten Sie die Umebunstemperatur für Laerun und Betrieb des Gerätes in den technischen Daten. Das Gerät darf erst nach Erreichen der zulässien Betriebs-Umebunstemperatur aneschlossen werden. Beachten Sie bitte, dass beim Überan von kalten zu warmentemperaturen Betauun am oder im Gerät entstehen kann. Entnehmen Sie das Gerät erst aus der Verpackun, wenn die zulässie Betriebs-Umebunstemperatur erreicht ist. Während eines Gewitters sollten Sie keine Leitunen anschließen oder trennen und nicht telefonieren. Schließen Sie die Anschlussschnüre nur an den dafür voresehenen Anschlüssen an. Verleen Sie die Anschlussschnüre unfallsicher. Vermeiden Sie die folenden Einflüsse: Direkte Sonneneinstrahlun Wärmequellen (z.b. Heizkörper) Elektronische Geräte (z.b. Vermeiden Sie trotzdem erhöhte statische Aufladunen. Die elektrostatische Aufladun kann bei verschiedenen Ursachen Werte erreichen, die weit über den notwendien Zulassunswerten und der bereits realisierten Störfestikeit des Telefons lieen. Die Ursachen oder Umstände, wie zum Beispiel zu erine Luftfeuchtikeit oder Teppichböden sind zu beseitien. Der Hersteller des Telefons übernimmt keine Gewährleistun bei Schäden, die auf diese Ursachen zurückzuführen sind. 2

Benutzen Sie niemals Lösunsmittel. Verwenden Sie niemals ein trockenes Tuch; die elektrostatische Aufladun könnte zu Defekten in der Elektronik führen. Achten Sie auf jeden Fall darauf, dass keine Feuchtikeit eindrinen kann und dadurch das Telefon Schaden nimmt. Aufstellen des Telefons Beachten Sie bitte, dass die Kunststofffüße Ihres Telefons auf empfindlichen berflächen z.b. von Möbeln, Spuren hinterlassen können. Der Hersteller des Telefons kann für solche Schäden nicht haften. Verwenden Sie daher eine rutschfeste Unterlae für Ihr Telefon. Anschluss des IP-Telefons Anschluss der Hörerschnur DenHörer amgrunderät anschließen: Stecker der Hörerschnur in die Buchse an der linken Seite des Grunderäts (1) und am unteren Ende des Hörers (2) einstecken. 1 2 ückseite des Telefons Telefon mit dem Internet verbinden: Telefon f. mit einem Computer verbinden. Ethernet Kabel mit J-45-Stecker mit der»wan«-buchse am Telefon verbinden. Das andere Kabelende mit dem vorhanden LAN- oder DSL-/outer-Port oder einem HUB verbinden. Ethernet Kabel mit J-45-Stecker mit der»lan«-buchse am Telefon verbinden. Das andere Kabelende am Computer anschließen. 4 Telefon einschalten: Steckernetzerät mit dem Telefon verbinden. Den Netzstecker des Steckernetzerätes in eine 230 V~ Steckdose einstecken.

22 Deutsch Installation des IP-Telefons Bevor Sie mit der Installation Ihre IP-Telefons beinnen, klären Sie bitte, welche Art der IP-Adressierun Ihr LAN oder outer verwendet. Welche IP-Adressierun verwendet Ihr Netzwerk? Die meisten Netzwerke - auch das Internet - nutzen IP-Adressen (IP: Internet Protokoll), um die Geräte, die auf Dienste zureifen, zu identifizieren und zu lokalisieren. DHCP-Adressierun Bei der DHCP-Adressierun werden jedem aneschlossenen Gerät beim Anmelden vom LAN oder outer automatisch die benötiten IP-Parameter zuewiesen. (Bei einien Internetanbietern, die mit DHCP-Adressierun arbeiten, ist ein Host-Name erforderlich, der manuell eineeben werden muss). Im Lieferzustand ist bei Ihrem Telefon DHCP aktiviert. Wenn Ihr LAN oder outer mit DHCP-Adressierun arbeitet, werden die LAN-Parameter Ihrs IP-Telefons automatisch einestellt, sobald Sie es einschalten und die Verbindunmit dem LAN oder outer herestellt wird. Statische Adressierun: Wenn Ihr LAN nicht mit DHCP-Adressierun arbeitet, muss jedem Gerät, das mit dem Netz verbunden wird, eine eiene IP-Adresse fest zuewiesen werden. Bei dieser Adressierunsart müssen Sie die LAN-Parameter manuell in Ihr Telefon eineben. Dazu benötien Sie folende Informationen: IP-Adresse Subnetzmaske Gateway-Adresse Primäre DNS-Adresse Sekundäre DNS-Adresse (bei manchen Systemen erforderlich) Ist in Ihrem Netzwerk eine statische Adressierun einerichtet, bekommen Sie die entsprechenden Anaben zur Konfiuration Ihres IP-Telefons von Ihren Netzwerkadministrator. Einfaches Anmelden eines»funkwerk IP 50«an einer TK-Anlae. Melden Sie das Telefon in der TK-Anlae an und leen Sie die ufnummer für das SIP-Telefon fest z.b. 13 und speichern Sie die Änderun in der TK-Anlae.
