17 Principios para ampliar el impacto de cuidado telefónico en América Latina

18 #1: Muchos pacientes necesitan más ayuda de la que se puede proveer de manera tradicional, dadas las limitaciones de tiempo y recursos en los centros de salud. Los clínicos y financiadores de servicios de salud necesitan ponerse como meta explorar modelos nuevos de cuidado que puedan servir a los pacientes más vulnerables.

19 #2: No hay una medida que calce a todos. Se necesitará una variedad de enfoques para tratar las necesidades de poblaciones diversas: incluyendo (1) pacientes con una falta de cultura médica, (2) pacientes con múltiples enfermedades crónicas y (3) pacientes con apoyo social inadecuado.

20 #3: Las tecnologías nuevas son más efectivas cuando apoyan el contacto humano. Los servicios nuevos deben apoyar el cuidado primario. Los servicios que los pacientes o proveedores consideran superfluos, no serán utilizados a lo largo del tiempo.
