3 On the weekend of September 5 th and 6 th 2015, we will welcome Fr. David Costello, O.C.D. of the Discalced Carmelites. He will speak at all the Masses for the Mission Cooperative Plan of the Diocese (Mission Appeal). Through our prayers, sacrifices and financial help we cooperate in building up the Church in various parts of the world. Father will speak about the Carmelite Mission in Uganda, Africa. We are encouraged to be generous in supporting that Mission. Please make checks payable to Madonna del Sasso Church. Thank you. Some give by going on the Missions; Others go by giving to the Missions; Without both there are no Missions. Our English Adult Choir resumes singing at 9am Mass September 13th. Our first choir rehearsal will be Sept 10th, Thursday at 6:30pm for approximately one hour. Please pass this news along to our fellow choir members when you see them at Mass. This is also an invitation to all parishioners. If you have a desire to serve our parish, and have musical ability, you may wish to sing with one of our choirs. Try us out. Previous experience is not required. No auditions required to join one of our choirs. Our Adult Choir sings at 9am Mass three out of four Sundays a month. We rehearse Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm in the church by the organ. Les St John directs. Our Men's Choir sings on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 10:30am Mass. We rehearse Thursday evenings from 7:30-8:30pm in the church by the organ. Angie Velasco-Vios directs. Our Children's Choir sings on the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 10:30am Mass. We rehearse Saturdays from 4:15-5:45pm in the church by the organ. Diosa Abellano directs. We also have solo cantors at the 4pm Vigil Mass and the 7:30am Sunday Mass.
