I can order meals in a restaurant. 2 LESSON DEVELOPMENT I. Lesson Sequencing: -Activator/Anticipatory Set: (5 minutes) Bell Work: Ss write about what they expect at an elegant restaurant. -Instructional Strategies/Processing Opportunities and Structures (5 minutes) Presentation of new vocabulary using graphic organizer. (10 minutes) Presentation of story with intermittent comprehension checks (T/F Quiz) (5 minutes) Set up homework assignment: Busca en el Cuento -Formative Assessment(s) Students complete a True/False quiz as the story is being told to show understanding of main points and important details. Students will work toward the goal of being able to order in a restaurant by identifying quotes from the story to model their speech after (Activity: Busca En El Cuento) II. Summative Assessment Students will be taking quotes from the story as a model from which to write their own dialogs of ordering at a restaurant. This will be done in a future class period. Como se llama el hombre? (hombre) tiene una novia que se llama (mujer). Como se llama? (Mujer) es una mujer muy bonita. bonita o fea? Como es la mujer? (Hombre) quiere casarse con (mujer). Casarse, si o no? La invita a cenar en el restaurante más elegante de toda la ciudad. mucho o poco dinero? C/F 1&2
3 Cuando llegan al restaurante, un mesero (que se llama Pierre) los lleva a la mesa. Adonde los lleva? Quien los lleva? (Hombre) le dice al mesero, (1) Nos trae el menú, por favor? Pierre les da el menú. Que les da? Les da o les tira el menu? (Hombre) le pregunta a Pierre, (2) Qué nos recomienda?. Pierre contesta, (3)Yo recomiendo nuestra famosa sopa de papas y el pescado frito. (Mujer) responde (4) Mmmm, yo quiero la sopa y el pescado, por favor. (Hombre) dice (5) yo también, gracias. C/F 3&4 Pierre les trae la sopa. Que les trae? Los dos la prueban y les gusta. Les gusta, si o no? Pero de repente, (hombre) encuentra un pelo largo en su sopa, y se pone muy enojado. Que encuentra el hombre? Se pone enojado o feliz? (Hombre) saca el pelo de la sopa le grita a Pierre, (6) Por qué hay un pelo en mi sopa? Pierre le responde, (7) Lo siento señor. (Hombre) tira el pelo a Pierre. Que tira? A quien? C/F 5&6 Luego, Pierre les trae el pescado frito. (Hombre) y (Mujer) lo prueban y les gusta. Pero de repente (hombre) encuentra una mosca en su pescado. La agarra y se la tira a Pierre. Ahora Pierre está preocupado porque piensa que (hombre) no le va a dar ninguna propina. Pierre esta preocupado o contento? Porque?
4 Después, Pierre les pregunta, (8) Desean algo de postre? (Mujer) responde, (9) Me puede traer un helado de chocolate, por favor? Y, mi amor, qué vas a pedir? (10) Yo quiero pastel de fresa, por favor. Pierre les trae los postres. Que les trae? C/F 7&8 El pastel de fresa está muy rico, pero de repente (hombre) encuentra un calcetín sucio, y lo saca del pastel y se lo tira a Pierre. (hombre) está tan enojado que se levanta y sale corriendo del restaurante sin pagar la cuenta. Paga la cuenta, si o no? Está tan enojado que se olvida de (mujer). Esta feliz, si o no? Como esta? (Mujer) está sola en el restaurante. Pierre se sienta en la mesa con ella. Pierre y (mujer) empiezan a conversar C/F 9&10
