1 Name Family Members Objective: To create a Celebrity Family Tree by MAKING LINKS and THINKING CREATIVELY! You are currently studying family and descriptions. You are going to create a celebrity family tree and will use this to then give a 3 minute presentation to the rest of the class.

2 Planning Task 1 - Think about who you would like to have in your celebrity family. You need to include the following: Mum Dad Brother Sister Grandmothers Grandfathers Uncles Aunts Cousins Pets are optional! Task 2 - Conduct a Google image search and try to find pictures of the celebrities and their ages. Task 3 Draw a sketch of your family tree and write a brief description of it that includes the following:

3 Level 1 1. Name 2. Age 3. Basic description describing their hair and eye colour 4. Extra special features. When labeling your family tree, use the success criteria below: You write or copy simple words or symbols correctly. You label items and select appropriate words to complete short phrases or sentences. Level 2 You write one or two short sentences, following a model, and fill in the words on a simple form. You label items and write familiar short phrases correctly. When you write familiar words from memory, your spelling may be approximate. Level 3 You write a few short sentences, with support, using expressions that you have already learnt. You express personal responses. You write short phrases from memory and your spelling is readily understandable. Level 4 You write short texts on familiar topics, adapting language that you have already learnt. You draw largely on memorized language. You begin to use your knowledge of grammar to adapt and substitute individual words and set phrases. You begin to use dictionaries or glossaries to check words you have learnt. Focus on your literacy targets as well as using connectives to develop your sentences and ensure that your spelling is accurate to achieve maximum marks. Use your Year 8 Spanish Vocabulary Booklet

Los ojos eyes El pelo - hair They say I have the eyes then the colour Tengo los ojos marrones He/she has the eyes + the colour Tiene los ojos azules And it is the same for hair colour! I have brown hair Tengo el pelo castaño He/she has blond hair Tiene el pelo rubio I have green eyes and long, curly brown hair. Tengo los ojos verdes y el pelo largo, rizado y castaño. For red hair we use Soy I am Es he/she is Me llamo my name is Se llama he/she is called En mi familia hay cinco personas In my family there are five people This is an example of a level 3 text that describes a well-known family! Mi padre se llama Homer, mi madre se llama Marge. También tengo una hermana se llama Lisa, tiene ocho años y tengo otra hermana menor se llama Maggie. Mi hermana Lisa tiene el pelo rubia, corto y de punta. También tiene los ojos azules. Mi hermana Maggie es un bebé y ella tiene el pelo rubio y los ojos azules también.
