Regular and Irregular Verbs Verbos Regulares e Irregulares por Susana Anguiano Es muy importante aprender cómo cambian los verbos de su forma básica al pasado simple para la elaboración de oraciones afirmativas en pasado simple Existen dos tipos de verbos: los regulares y los irregulares. It s very important to learn how the verbs change from basic form to simple past, and follow the grammatical structure of the simple past affirmative sentences. There are two types of verbs: regular and Irregular verbs. Ejemplos(examples): 1
Recuerda que el verbo to be se conjuga de manera distinta según el pronombre que se utilice Personal Pronoun Simple Past / Verb to be I He She was It We You were They 3
Base form (Forma base) be break bring build deal drive buy catch come cut do drink drive eat fall feel find fight fly forbid forget forgive give go grow have hear hold hurt keep know lay Simple past (Pasado simple) was / were broke brought built dealt drove bought caught came cut did drank drove ate fell felt found fought flew forbade forgot forgave gave went grew had heard held hurt kept knew laid Spanish (Español) ser romper traer construir repartir, dar manejar (auto) comprar atrapar venir cortar hacer beber manejar comer caer sentir encontrar pelear volar prohibir olvidar perdonar dar ir crecer, madurar tener escuchar tener, agarrar, sujetar herir, lastimar guardar, conservar saber poner, colocar 4
Continuación de la tabla: Base form (Forma base) lead leave lend lose make meet pay put read ride rise run say see sell send shine shut sit sleep speak spend split stand steal swear sweep swim take teach Simple past (Pasado simple) led left lent lost made met paid put read rode rose ran said saw sold sent shone shut sat slept spoke spent split stood stole swore swept swam took taught Spanish (Español) guiar, llevar dejar prestar perder realizar conocer, encontrar pagar poner leer montar caballo, andar en bicicleta subir, crecer correr decir ver vender enviar brillar cerrar sentar dormir hablar gastar partir, dividir estar de pie, pararse robar jurar barrer nadar tomar enseñar 5
Continuación de la tabla: Base form (Forma base) tell think throw understand wake wear win write Simple past (Pasado simple) told thought threw understood woke wore won wrote Spanish (Español) decir pensar tirar, lanzar entender despertar llevar puesta ropa ganar escribir Fuente: Elaboración propia con apoyo en wordreferencedictionary.com Ahora ya tienes las listas de verbos en su forma básica y en pasado simple, ahora te será mucho más fácil la estructura de las oraciones afirmativas en el Pasado Simple. Now you have the list of Basic verbs and Simple Past Verbs. Now it will be much easier to structure affirmative sentences in the Simple Past. Los verbos regulares son aquellos que se les agrega la terminación: ed ó d para cambiarse al tiempo pasado simple. Por otro lado, los verbos irregulares, son aquellos que sufren un cambio drástico y no siguen ninguna regla, por lo que será necesario los estudies muy bien. 6
