3 INTRODUCCIÓN La pinza es un instrumento de medida completamente portátil. Posee una pantalla digital LCD de 3 ½. Está diseñada para su uso en los lugares en los cuales se requiera realizar una buena medida de la corriente. Su diseño está concebido para la protección del usuario como medida de seguridad durante su uso, por medio de una carcasa fuerte que se caracteriza por su resistencia al impacto y al deterioro por sobrecaga electrónica. Además, incluye un relieve que actúa como barrera protectora para evitar descargas al usuario. INSTRUCCIONES 1. Medida de corriente AC a. Elegir el rango correcto de ACA por medio de la ruleta (~600A o ~200A). Presionar el disparador para abrir la pinza de transformación y unirla la a un solo conducto. La pinza recoge la corriente alterna transmitida por el conducto. b. La figura inicial indica la variedad de funciones y el amplio rango que se puede seleccionar. c. La lectura debe visualizarse en la pantalla. d. Nota: Las pinzas deben estar completamente cerradas en el momento de la realización de la lectura. e. La lectura más precisa se obtendrá por medio del conducto central de la pinza transformadora. 2. Medida del voltaje AC a. Elegir el rango de la función ACV por medio de la ruleta (~600V). b. Conectar el cable negro en el terminal COM y el rojo en el terminal V/Ω/Hz. Ahora se puede colocar la sonda en los puntos de carga cuya diferencia de potencial se pretende medir. c. Para evitar problemas eléctricos o daños en el instrumento de medida, no intentar medir voltajes superiores a 600V AC. 3. Medida del voltaje DC a. Elegir el rango de la función DCV por medio de la ruleta. b. Conectar el cable negro en el terminal COM y el rojo en el terminal V/Ω/Hz. Ahora se puede colocar el cable en los puntos de carga cuya diferencia de potencial se pretende medir. c. La polaridad del cable rojo debe estar indicada junto con el voltaje. d. Para evitar problemas eléctricos o daños en el instrumento de medida, no intentar medir voltajes superiores a 600V DC.

4 4. Medida de la resistencia a. Elegir el rango 200Ω por medio de la ruleta. b. Conectar el cable negro en el terminal COM y el rojo en el terminal V/Ω/Hz. c. Verificar que el interruptor del circuito eléctrico a medir está apagado. Conectar el cable al circuito para realizar la medida. Nota: Si la resistencia empieza sobrepasando la medida máxima admisible, significa que la entrada no está conectada. Realizar mediciones continuamente en los circuitos puede ser causa de problemas eléctricos o deterioros en el instrumento de medición. La medición de resistencias tiene que hacerse sobre el propio circuito energético. 5. Prueba de continuidad a. Elegir el rango 200Ω por medio de la ruleta. b. Conectar el cable negro en el terminal COM y el rojo en el terminal V/Ω/Hz. c. Conectar las sondas alrededor de los dos puntos del circuito a medir. Si existe continuidad, la pinza debe generar un pitido. 6. Medición de frecuencia a. Elegir el rango Hz por medio de la ruleta. b. Conectar el cable negro en el terminal COM y el rojo en el terminal V/Ω/Hz. c. Conectar la sonda al origen de medida y leer el valor visualizado. No aplicar más de 250V en la entrada. La señal de voltaje a medir tiene que ser menor a 1.0V. INFORMACIÓN DE SEGURIDAD Protección contra deterioros eléctricos. Nunca exceder el valor límite de protección de las especificaciones de cada rango de medida. Cuando la pinza esta unida al circuito a medir, no tocar ningún terminal. Cuando la escala de valores a medir es desconocida, elegir el selector de rangos de voltaje más amplio. Antes de mover la ruleta para cambiar una función, desconectar la sonda del circuito. Nunca interpretar mediciones de resistencia en el propio circuito. Cuando la pinza está abierta, colocar los dedos detrás de la barrera protectora. Nunca realizar mediciones cuando se está en contacto con tubos o salidas metálicas. Utilizar ropa seca, calzado de goma o cualquier material aislado apropiadamente.

5 MANTENIMIENTO El mantenimiento consiste en limpiar y reemplazar la batería periódicamente. El exterior de la pinza puede limpiarse con una tela seca para eliminar cualquier tipo de aceite o grasa. Nunca usar líquidos abrasivos o solventes. Reemplazar la batería cuando se visualice el símbolo indicativo en pantalla. Quitar la batería de la carcasa y reemplazarla por otra nueva. Para evitar problemas eléctricos, desconectar los cables de medición y cualquier señal de entrada antes de reemplazar la batería. Reemplazarla solo por baterías del mismo tipo.

7 INTRODUCTION This clamp meter is completely portable, 3 ½ digit LCD display meter. It is designed to use in laboratory, field servicing, at home, or under any circumstance where high current measurement is required. This device is built with a finger guard design which ensures safety operating; a rugged case that is shock resistant; and electronic overload protection for all function and range. In addition, a carrying case is available for easy portability of the device, avoiding damage. INSTRUCTIONS 1. AC Measuring current a. Set function knob to the proper ACA Range (~600A o ~200A). Press the trigger to open the transformer jaws and clamp on to one the transformer jaws and clamp on to one conductor only. The transformer jaws pick up the AC current flowing through the conductor. b. The figure indicates over range situation and the higher range has to de selected. c. The reading will be indicated on the display. Note: Jaws should be completely closed taking reading. The most accurate reading will be obtained by the conductor across center of the transformer jaws. 2. AC Voltage measurement a. Set the function knob to the ACV range (~600V). b. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and red test lead to the V/Ω/Hz terminal. You can now place the test probes to the source or load under measurement. To avoid electrical shock, hazard or damage to the meter, do not attempt to measure voltage that might exceed AC 600V RMS. 3. DC Voltage measurement a. Set the function knob to the DCV range b. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and red test lead to the V/Ω/Hz terminal. You can now place the test probes to the source or load under measurement. c. The polarity of red lead connection will be indicated along with the voltage value. To avoid electrical shock, hazard or damage to the meter, do not attempt to measure voltage that might exceed DC 600V.

8 4. Resistance measurement a. Set the function knob to the 200Ω range. b. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and red test lead to the circuit to the V/Ω/Hz terminal. c. Verify that the power to the circuit under test is off. Connect test lead to the circuit to make measurement. Note: If the resistance being measurement exceeds the maximum value of the range selected or the input is not connected, an over range indication 1 will be displayed. Attempting resistance or continuity measurements on live circuits can cause electrical shock, damage to the device and damage to the equipment under test. Resistance measurement must be made on de-energized circuit. 5. Continuity test a. Set the function knob to the 200Ω range. b. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and red test lead to the V/Ω/Hz terminal. c. Connect the test probes across two points of the circuit under testing. If continuity exists, BUZZER will sound. 6. Frequency measurement a. Set the function knob to Hz range. b. Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and red test lead the V/Ω/Hz terminal. c. Connect the probes to measuring source or load under testing and reading displayed value. d. Do not apply more than 250V RMS to input. e. Signal voltage to be measured must be > 1.0V. SAFETY INFORMATION Protection against the damage of electric shock. Never exceed the protection limit values indicated in the specifications for each range of measurement. When the device value scale to be measurement circuit, do not touch unused terminals. When the value scale to be measured is unknown, set the range selector at the highest position. Before rotating the selector change function, disconnect test leads from the circuit under testing.

9 Never perform resistance measurements on live circuits. When the jaw opening and to the conductor under testing, your fingers must keep behind the barriers indicator. Never ground yourself when taking electrical measurement, do not touch exposed metal pipes, outlets, mixtures, etc., which might be at ground potential. Keep your body isolated from ground by using dry clothing, rubber shoes, or any approved insulating material. Utilizar ropa seca, calzado de goma o cualquier material aislado apropiadamente. MAINTENANCE Maintenance consists of periodic cleaning and battery replacement. The exterior of the meter can be cleaned with a dry clean cloth to remove any oil, grease or grim. Never use liquid solvents or abrasives. When the meter displays the sign, the battery must be replaced to maintain proper operation. Remove the battery cover of case, replace the exhausted battery with new one. To avoid electrical shock, disconnect the test leads and any input signals before replacing the battery. Replace only with same type of battery.
