2 May 8, ASCENSION OF THE LORD RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION The Religious Education Program is now registering for the session. Classes will be held on Saturday mornings from 10:00 am until 11:30 am starting at the end of September. The early registration fees are: $60 for one child $85 for two children $110 for three or more children in the same family. THESE FEES ONLY APPLY TO COMPLETED APPLICATIONS, RECEIVED WITH THE ENTIRE FEE, BY JUNE 30, These early fees are considerably less than the regular fees and result in a savings of $25 for one child, $65 for two children and $80 for three or more children. Our Religious Education Program covers eight years each year builds on the previous year s instruction. Preparation for First Holy Communion is a two year program, but it does not and should not end there. Children should continue their religious education training straight through to the three year preparation for Confirmation which occurs in Step 8. Second Collection for May 15th We have all seen the painful images of the death and destruction left by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake and aftershocks in Ecuador. To date, the death toll is nearly 600 people with thousands more injured. In economic terms, this is the worst catastrophe Ecuador has suffered, in as much as it has caused billions of dollars in damages, and recovery from this disaster will take several years. In effort to give aid and support to our brothers and sisters in need in Ecuador, a second collection will be taken up on Pentecost Sunday, May 15, The monies collected will be sent to Catholic Relief Services for distribution and direct assistance to affected dioceses in Ecuador. SECOND COLLECTION: COMMUNICATIONS Confessions will not take place Saturday, May 14th because of previously scheduled confirmation.

Traditionally, Ascension Thursday occurred 40 days after Easter (May 5 this year); however, most dioceses in the U.S. have transferred this Holy Day of Obligation to the Sunday following it, which this year is today. Christ s Ascension is important to us. It is one of our core beliefs, to the extent that when we profess our faith at Mass, regardless which Creed we use, we declare, He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. To deny Christ s Ascension is to deny His Resurrection. Before His Ascension, which is described in our First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles, Jesus tells His followers, you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. We, too, have been baptized and imbued with the Holy Spirit. 4 8 de Mayo ULTIMO DOMINGO DE PASCUA Nos dice una parte del Evangelio de este día que: Para que todos sean uno, como tu Padre en mi y yo en ti. Que ellos también lo sean en nosotros. Para que el mundo crea que tu me has enviado (S.Jn 17,21). La gran preocupación de Cristo en su ultimo discurso en la Noche Suprema fue la unidad de sus discípulos, para que ellos a su vez trabajen por la unidad de los demás, ya que para eso vino el al mundo. Jesús pone como modelo de la unidad entre sus discípulos la que existe entre el y el Padre. Si los cristianos se dividen, su testimonio se derrumba,. Porque Cristo vino al mundo para reunir a los hijos dispersos; y unos cristianos o discípulos divididos entre si, CONTRADICEN el plan del Salvador. Como Tu, Padre en Mi y yo en Ti: O sea, unión de amor, de comprensión, de obediencia, de inmenso respeto y aprecio, Jesús pide Unidad, no Uniformidad; en otras palabras, debemos aprender a encontrar la unidad en la pluralidad, de nacionalidades, costumbres y pensamientos religiosos. La unidad ha de ser la vida (savia) de toda familia o comunidad de fe. Si nosotros amamos a los demás mas que los detalles de nuestros gustos, veremos que es mucho mas fácil conseguir la unidad. Si amamos a Cristo con todo el corazón con amor semejante al que le tiene al Padre, veremos como ya no pondremos tantas barreras a la unidad entre nosotros los cristianos. MAYO. MES DE LAS MADRES La Comunidad Parroquial del Santo Niño, durante este mes de Mayo, dedicado a rendir homenaje a nuestra Madre biología que un día nos trajo al mundo y también a nuestra Madre espiritual del cielo la Virgen María. Desea, durante todo el mes COLECTAR ropa nueva, comida y otras cosas que necesitan todas aquellas madres de escasos recursos para sus bebes recién nacidos. Para tal fin, se han colocado a un lado del altar, cerca a la estatua de la Virgen María, unas canastas destinadas para ello. Gracias por su generosidad y que la Virgen María nos bendiga y acompañe siempre, haciéndonos mas cerca el camino, para llegar a Jesús. Educación Religiosa El Programa de Educación Religiosa de la parroquia esta ya matriculando niños y niñas para el año escolar Las clases son los sábados en la mañana de 10 a 11:30am empezando al final de septiembre. Para los que se matriculen temprano; la cuota es: $60.00 por un niño o niña, $85.00 por dos $ por tres o más niños que pertenezcan a la misma familia. Estas tarifas solo aplica para matrículas recibidas con el pago completo antes del 30 de junio, Son considerablemente menos que las tarifas regulares: $85 por un niño, $150 para dos o más niños, o $190 para tres o más niños. Nuestro Programa de Educación Religiosa es un programa de ocho años. Cada año complementa lo que se aprendió el año anterior. La preparación para la Primera Comunión es un programa de dos años, el cual no termina cuando el niño o niña recibe la Comunión. Los niños y las niñas deben continuar su educación religiosa hasta que reciben el Sacramento de la Confirmación; que es el FESTIVAL PARROQUIAL Cuando? Que el buen Dios bendiga y multiplique su generosidad en salud, trabajo, amor y paz.
