1 Math Investigator Division and Fact Families Are You As Smart As a Third Grader? Supplies: Markers, construction paper Create an Are You As Smart As a Third Grader? game. Come up with a total of 15 division word problems. Create an Equation Answer chart with each problem and 4 possible answers on it (1 correct and three incorrect). Draw a picture for each problem on a piece of construction paper. Create a game board with a space for each of the following dollar amounts: $100, $300, $500, $1,000, $2,000, $4,000, $8,000, $16,000, $32,000, $64,000, $125,000, $250,000, $500,000, One Million. Directions for playing and example on back.

2 To Play: Each player will get a game piece and pick an equation card. The host will read the equation and give the 4 possible answers off of the Equation Answer chart. The player will solve the problem. If the correct answer is given, they move their game piece up the board. If they are incorrect, they stay where they are. First one to One Million wins. Students may use dry erase boards or paper to solve problems. Example: James met up with 4 of his friends to play marbles. He brought 20 marbles to play with. He wants to divide his marbles equally between him and his friends. How many marbles does each person get? Possible Equations: 20 4 = = = = 20 Picture:

Your job is to create a design for how the seating should be arranged. The design must include seating for 32 people. The tables that were purchased are in the shape of a square and can only fit one person on each side. Tables can be arranged end to end to make a larger table. What is the fewest number of tables needed to seat 32 people? Create pictures, diagrams, etc. to support your answer. What seating arrangement uses the fewest number of tables? What is the fewest number of tables needed to seat 22 people?

Be prepared to explain to the class how your game is played.

9 Math Investigator Division and Fact Families Multiplication and Division Book for Kids Supplies: Paper, Art Supplies Some of the Second Grade teachers have asked for our help. They need some books that help show their students how division means equal groups, and multiplication is repeatedly counting by the same number again and again. Create a 24 page book using the multiples of 1-12 that shows how multiplication and division are related. The multiplication and division page for each number should be side by side. Please have a title page, and list your name as author and illustrator. Remember that you need to do your best work. Example of book page on back

Algunos de los maestros de segundo grado te han pedido que los ayudes.
