1 October 2, 2015 John C. Dore Elementary School Hello Bulldog Families, Happy World Smiles Day!! Yesterday Dore FOD met to discuss upcoming events. We would like to announce that Ms. Raica is now the new president of FOD.We hope you can join the next meeting in November so that we can support Ms. Raica. The minutes are attached. Congratulations to our Cross Country Team. They had a meet this Wednesday at Hale Park. Our girls 7/8 and boys 5/6 team took first. Our girls 5/6 took second place. Coming in the top 10 in their race were Jennifer D., Madison R., Marile R. Nathan H., Jace G., Tristan G., Julian Z., Raphael B., Rikki K., Sofia L., Kaylani E., Angel M. and Anthony B. Special thank you to Mr. Maynard, Ms. Romo, Mr. Crist, Mr. Barrios, and Mr. Bendik for supporting cross country. A huge thanks you to our parents Ms. Luna, Mr. Gade, and Mrs. Gonzalez; your help is greatly appreciated. Progress reports (5 th week of school) will be distributed on October 9. Please make sure to check your child s book bag. It s science fair time again for 6 th -8 th graders. I am attaching the workshop for students and parents to this . Some important items to remember to turn in: fill out the FY16 family income sheet that is attached to this and found on our website. We need all forms back. If you do not qualify please write your child s name on the line, across the sheet write Do Not Qualify and sign it. Students with cell phones must have a permission form on file. Phones must be turned off throughout the school day and if they are part of the after school program. Students and parents from first-8 th must sign the student code of conduct form found in the booklet. We also need medical forms (physicals and immunization) for all new students, pre-k and Kindergarten students. We also ask parents to please not to smoke around the perimeter of the school or have dogs especially during arrival and dismissal time. We also ask that everyone please be courteous during arrival and dismissal time. During recess time we ask that you please not stand around. This is just for precaution. If we see any adults around the school standing by the fences we will ask you to leave. A reminder that there is a family fee of $25.00 per child maxing at $75.00, please turn fees in to the main office.

DORE CSI School Year We have now hired a new resource coordinator, Ms. Julie Rodriguez. Fall-I classes have begun. If you missed the information, please visit to view current activity offerings, and print the CSI Registration packet and Fall-I Activity Enrollment Form. Please remember, a new school year requires a new registration packet from EVERY participating student, including returning students. You may scan ALL completed forms to Ms. Rodriguez at RodrigueJ@metrofamily.org or return to the CSI mailbox in the main office. As time is needed to process all of the forms received, Walk and Bike to School Oct. 7, we will be walking/biking to school!! 3 3 de octubre, 2015 Hola Familia Buldogs, Feliz Dia de sonrisas!!! Ayer Dore FOD tuvieron su junta acerca de los eventos por este ano. Queremos anunciar que la señora Raica es la nueva presidenta de FOD. Esperamos que la próxima junta pueda asistir en noviembre para apoyar a la señora Raica. Los minutes están adjunto. Felicidades a nuestra Campo a través (Cross Country). Este pasado miércoles en el parque Hale corrieron. Nuestras muchachas de 7/8 y muchachos de 6/5 equipo salieron en primer lugar. Las muchachas de 5/6 salieron en segundo lugar. Los que vinieron en el top 10 de la carrera son Jennifer D., Madison R., Marile R. Nathan H., Jace G., Tristan G., Julian Z., Raphael B., Rikki K., Sofia L., Kaylani E., Angel M. y Anthony B. Gracias al maestro Maynard, maestra Romo, maestro Crist, señor Barrios, y maestro Bendik por su apoyo en cross country. Una grande gracias a nuestros padres: señora Luna, señor Gade, and señora Gonzalez; su ayuda es apreciado. Reportes de progreso (quinto semana de escuela) van estar distribuidos en 9 de octubre. Por favor de revisar cada mochila. Es tiempo de la feria de ciencias otra vez por los estudiantes de sexto a octavo grado. Adjunte el taller por los estudiantes y padres. Importantes recuerdos para entregar: llena la forma de ingresos de familia FY16 esta adjunto con esa letra y también lo puedes encontrar en nuestro sitio web. Es importante que entreguen todas las formas para atrás. Si no calificas por el ingreso de familia por favor escribe el nombre de su hijo/a, apunta no califico por el papel y firma. Estudiantes con teléfono celular necesitan permiso con la forma en su manual de estudiante. Teléfonos celulares tienen que estar apagados durante las horas de escuela y clases después de escuela. Estudiantes y padres de primer hasta octavo grado necesitan firmar el libro de código de conducta de estudiantes. También necitamos formas de físico y vacunas para todos los estudiantes nuevos, pre-k y kínder. Pedimos que los padres no fumen cuando estudiantes entran o salen de escuela o tragan perros por el perímetro de la escuela. También pedimos que durante la llegada y despido que tengan cortes manejando. Durante recreo pedimos que no estén parados alrededor. Tenemos que tener precaución. Si vemos adultos por el perímete de la escuela le vamos a pedir que se tienen que ir. Un recuerdo que hay una tarifa de familia de $25.00 por cada estudiante pero el máximo es $75.00, por favor entrega la tarifa a la oficina.
