La gramática del inglés será analizada en contexto y se proporcionará una aproximación descriptiva, es decir, basándonos en el uso que el nativo-hablante hace de su lengua. 3. OBJETIVO GENERAL / MAIN OBJECTIVE: This course aims to cover the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing while giving systematic attention to grammar and vocabulary. It develops both fluency and accuracy in English through a topic-based syllabus of high interest to students. 1

Promote the development of both linguistic and communication skills through discussions and written grammar practice..3 Expand students grammatical knowledge and usage in both oral and written language.. Illustrate how structures and grammar items the students may have previously encountered can be used in more complex ways..5 Broaden the student s knowledge and use of vocabulary in oral and written language..6 Provide opportunities to practice grammar and conversational language in authentic communicative contexts. 5. CONTENIDOS / CONTENTS Tense review Conditional tense in real situations Conditional tense to express unreality Conditional tense to express past unreal conditions Double comparatives to show cause-effect relationships Adjective and appropriate relative pronouns Adverb Discourse connectors expressing cause and effect o Comparison or similarities o Contrast or difference Use of gerunds Use of infinitives Passive voice to describe situations Passive voice to report opinions Phrasal verbs in use New vocabulary in use 6. METODOLOGÍA, RECURSOS / METHODOLOGY & RESOURCES: This course has been designed with a communicative methodology that seeks to develop both fluency and accuracy in students at the intermediate to upperintermediate level of language proficiency. It covers the four language skills: listening, speaking reading and writing, while giving systematic attention to grammar and vocabulary. It aims to develop both fluency and accuracy in the use of the English language through a topic-based syllabus. The topics are of high interest to students to engross them in active participation and increase

Para el caso de evaluaciones orales, prácticas u otras, se estructurará la prueba y se establecen los criterios de evaluación, que serán dados a conocer a los estudiantes durante la primera semana de clases. 3
